This song always makes me cry. When my son was born too early and too little, this song was on the radio a lot and the lyrics remind me of my vigil by his incubator.
A song for eternity... it will still be perfect in 50 years. But i recommend the album version. This single edit here was cut shorter about 2 minutes. The song really unfolds its full power and emotion in the original length!
"Run" is a hugely covered song with the most famous version by Liona Lewis. Not sure what Snow Patrol are doing now but writing songs for others would not surprise me
This song gives me the chills even today, years after I first heard it. You're right it is anthemic, but I think it is a music driven song so I don't think it needs the vocals to go crazy or it would spoil the song, anything I can understand why you might think this. I've always gotten Radiohead Creep vibes from this song, but you're right about the Coldplay comparison, I think that's very apt. Great reaction keep up the good work. Maybe you could check out some Embrace as well, which was a popular band here in the UK at the same time which also had anthemic type songs, very uplifting.
Gravity was written by Chris Martin (Coldplay) but he didn't think it suited the band so well, he thought embrace would be a better match so gave them the song.
By this point I'd stopped listening to, "modern" music. After 96/97 music had started to change for the worse, imho. Or maybe my musical tastes just became stunted.🤷♂️😂
Totally understand Retro man 😎 I really didn’t appreciate the ‘music’ time period until recently. Guess more time to think about the vibe & give some cred to guitar / alt. driven stuff from back in the day. ✌🏻
@@reactionextraction I did like a few songs of the arctic monkeys when they came out in the mid 2000s.same goes for sea sick Steve. His first album was awesome.
@@reactionextraction if you haven't hear sea sick steve before, check out, "I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left" and "thunder bird." They're my favourites of his.👍

Yeah Gary Lightbody (singer) has written with loads of people, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5. He is prolific.
Saw them live when this was released. Small venue in Portsmouth and it was magical. Definitely an anthem.
ahh snow patrol. they are a mood..love em. have a variety of soft, and rockier songs too. all good.

Live @Oxegen Is all I need to say
Amazing
Leona Lewis also had a duet with Putri Ariani with the song Run.
Try their song called 'Chocolate' .......it's awesome and a great video as well!
This band reminds me of the Embrace band, they have very similar songs, listen and react to Gravity by Embrace, a very good song.

Live version is amazing
It's a great album.
So their biggest song is ‘Chasing cars’ and I would be astonished if you had not heard that somewhere……….
After your comment I checked out the song and yes I do remember it. They seem like a cool band. Hope to do more Snow Patrol on the show soon 😎
‘Chasing Cars’ next, although one of my favourite songs is ‘Chocolate.’
Altho I like this version you should check out the Leona Lewis version if you want a bit more emotion, it was no.1 in England
One Tree Hill anyone? 😎
try spiting games by snow patrol it more of a rock song than run
USA cheese it definitely is not
Check out Leona Lewis. Run.
