Great video nice to see father and daughter in the woods .I did the same when my daughter was Little .she now,33,. And still want to come out to do cooking in the woods with me .we had a afternoon yesterday cooking lamb on the bushbox stove .it a great feeling sitting there watching her . hopefully when your daughter get old she look back at the time she had learning with you in the woods .and it so rewording as a father . keep up with the good video .no doubt some one have a negative word to say
I've cooked 52 of my 64 yrs Katie I'm really impressed that Daddy takes time You camping and that cooking Is a major interest, With practice you will be a great cook, It took me as a lad in the 1960's and 70's a lot of practice with my mother dad and grandparents. It’s great to see you both out with your daughters. Nothing like the great outdoors and teaching them skills they will carry with them throughout life. I grew up on a farm and the open pastures, hills, and creeks were our playground and entertainment. Using the pallet wood was a good idea to get the fire going. Sometimes you have to do whatever it takes and the pallet wood was handy. Sorry about so much condensation.

Always good to see a Daddy Daughter camping trip in the woods. I first took my daughter when she was 5. Tell you daughter to watch a youtube film called 'Frost camp and hammock fun' 'Bushcraft Dads' channel. You can prove to her its perfectly normal. At least it is in our house. Top tip, Haribo Marshmallows for the fire. They brown up super good in seconds over the fire. Probably cos of obscene amount of sugar in em. Hope you did your pre panic buying like we suggested? its kicking off big time at our local Costco. People were queueing before it was even open.
Fantastic to see yourself and OSCAR OUTDOORS spending quality time with your daughters and making memories that will last a lifetime. Showing them how to set up camp, starting fire safely and cooking outdoors are skills that they will want to further develop the next time they are out. Learning these skills will teach them to be more confident in their own abilities and how they deal with different situations as they are growing up. . I was glad to see you decided to have 'Snacks' with your tortilla chips😄 It looked like the bivvi was definitely holding a lot of condition and not as permeable as you first thought, but otherwise looked a great set up. Again, great to see you lads enjoying quality times with your kids and encouraging them to get out and enjoy the outdoors. All the best 👍
Hi mate the condensation will always be a problem with small tents and bivvi, but in the summer time or when it's not raining I could leave the door open a bit,,
Nice to see someone out with their kids :) Would a small tarp over the head end of your bevy, and leaving the front open - so just the net was done - have helped with the condensation?
Really good idea about the tarp. I mean basically this bivvy is a large plastic bag. The bivvy is strong, but needs air flow. If they changed the design, keeping the bug net and bath floor as is, but going out a foot with a zip up porch (air at bottom), maybe would be OK. Air circulation is the key.

It's fine adding the sauce at the beginning Dan fella don't worry just think wen u cook curry in the oven everything goes in at the beginning then all cooks up together bud so giving it a good simmer as u did is ideal so let kadi know it's fine mate!!! Lots of Indian recipes don't require meat to be browned just added raw to the sauce however you prepared it, that's how I cook regardless of the sauce and type of meat. Your daughter did nothing wrong. Enjoyed the video.
As you said bud,condensation always the problem with bivvys and smaller tents. My Phoxx has similar issues . On the plus side in a survival situation you can drink it 😁. Great video again..l can't wait for all this crazyness to pass do we can get out.
I used a Highlander Falcon Bivi tent for a while , it was great at keeping the weather out but also great at keeping the moisture from me in . Best to stay just warm rather than toasty, In a bivi if you're hot enough to sweat you're gonna wake up wet . Have a few very good quality bivi's now but condensation is always a thought .

condensation is only an issue if you can't dry your bag during the day.. if you do one nighters it don't matter about condensation, you can dry your bag at home.. on longer trips bivi's are not recommended due to the issue of condensation.. I got round this by buying a snugpack ionisphere.. small enough to be stealthy and big enough to keep the condensation off your bag..

I've got both, I prefer to use ionisphere... if I use a normal bivi its the army one, forget what the marerial is its made of but it breaths better and doesn't suffer from the condensation of these nylon bivi's..

Doesn’t matter if it’s camping or a survival type situation. You do whatever makes life easier. So if you have dry pallet wood available then use it.
