That mechanic reminds me of Animal Crossing, but it’s a lot deeper. In Animal Crossing the characters acknowledge how long you’ve been gone for, but they only acknowledge it from your character. But with OneShot, it’s Niko acknowledging YOU, the player, the person behind the screen, that you’ve been gone and gets scared if you close out the game without putting Niko to bed. Once this game comes out on the Switch I’m DEFINITELY gonna make sure I don’t do that to them.

On my first playthrough I thought the Onshot achievement was for putting the sun back (which was the first ending I got) and I didn't exit through other means
I mean this is techically what happens canonically given nikos comments each time you boot up the game they may have removed the OneShot mechanic, but it is still very apperently closing the game upsets niko a lot

An interesting (and creepy) thing about this is that this sort of reminds me of the original version of the game. If you close the game without using a bed first (closing it through Task Manager or just closing the window of the game), then the game will have a more darker starting screen the next time you load in: Niko's hat and scarf lays on the floor while the lightbulb in the title is broken. Upon starting the game, you're taken to the same room you started in, only this time there's no one there. Then a final message pops up that reads "You killed Niko." Unless you get a new PC, a new account or try and modify the internals of the game files, it'll be locked onto this ending and there's no way for you to restart it. Even if the game is reinstalled, the files that trigger the ending still exist, stored deep within the PC's folders.
So I'm trying to see why people like this game and main character, and (this is going to cause some drama in this comment) I just don't get it, I don't get the point of it of the game who this Miko, Sniko, or Niko character is(He/She is cute, it's a nice design) I just don't get, sorry
You have to play it and experience it by yourself. Storytelling and 4:th wall breaks are gems of Oneshot. Without spoiling some of the game, it is hard to see what makes Oneshot great.
When you close the game Niko says That everything went dark for a second. This expanded the idea. No there is no SFM animation in Oneshot. I used .vbs to create the pop ups.
