At college in the UK in the 1970's, I shared a dorm with a girl called Gene Tierney. Gene related the story of how her father thought the American Miss Tierney was the most beautiful actress he had ever seen....and so named his own daughter. Years later, and I saw the beautiful Gene Tierney in 'Leave Her To Heaven' and was absolutely mesmerised by her presence and, of course, her beauty. 'Thank you, new subscriber here xx
I had that same impression seeing her on screen for the first time; I instantly nicknamed her Snow White, for great is the resemblance to the character. ❤️✨✌️🌟Gene, darling.
I really liked her in Leave her to Heaven. But nothing could beat her performance in Laura. I loved that movie. Her and Dana Andrews were Awesome together. I have seen that movie 5 times. And I never get tired of watching it. Thanks for the Biography of her life!

Thank you Ashley….for the videos you are making….you applying make up..and telling very interesting and entertaining stories is ABFAB.👍
On a movie shoot years ago, I met a guy known only as "The Video Commander". I was reading a biography of Gene Tierney. He always looked at me funny. I too, was an Irish girl with high cheekbones. Somene said "Hey! You kind of look like that actress from the '50s, uh, what's her name?" "Gene Tierney I said. We had the same orthodontist!" I was making fun of my overbite. The Video Commander stormed out and would not speak to me for three days. He took me to dinner to apologise. "That crack about her overbite really burned me." "I was talking about My overbite!" Well, you do look like her, it freaked me out. He pulled out his driver's licence- John Patrick Tierney. She was his aunt! That's why he was so sensitive about her. "You're reading her auto biography, and that freaked me out!" We ended as friends, after discussing his aunt's life.
@@AshleyAyeSomeone told me years ago that I had to see The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. It made me think of that ridiculous TV show in the 70's or 80's. When I finally saw it I was mesmerized. Favorite movie of all time!
What a great & sad story. I had never heard of her. Loved it. And yes please, do a story on the wretched directors & producers. That would be interesting too.
Thank you for this informative video. I love Gene Tierney and got to meet her in Houston in the 70's at a River Oaks party she attended with Howard. She looked relaxed and happy. Her painful journey especially with controlling men is a cautionary tale.

I rarely sit through an entire documentary, but you were so amazing the way you winged it and applied your make up at the same time. I couldn’t pull myself away from listening to you. You are wonderful.
Enjoyed this biography of Gene Tierney. IMHO she was one of the most underrated actresses of her time. My favorite movie of hers - the hauntingly beautiful - “Laura”. Not only was her performance stellar, but all the other actors were perfectly casted (especially Clifton Webb). Thank you.
It’s interesting how almost all of the beautiful actresses in Hollywood were exploited and mostly unhappy. Being gorgeous on the outside is definitely no guarantee of a happy life! 😢
That’s Why Have To Be Gorgeous and Self Assure and Advanced Thinking For YOU! Not Other People! Know Your Worth. And Guard Your Womanhood! GOD GAVE IT TO YOU!
Loved Gene’s films! My favorite films of hers were Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Dragonwcyk, and Laura. Such a sad life. Would love to see something on Loretta Young, one of my favorites.
Thank you for another interesting, compassionate, enlightening video. Your commentary is easy to listen to, and shows your ability to describe what it was like to be the person you’re talking about. I am charmed by the way your commentary is sprinkled with your down to earth perspective, and reminders of redeeming qualities, despite difficult circumstances. I always finish your videos feeling I’ve learned some thing about your subject, in this case Jean Tierney, and like I had a visit from a dear friend. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with all of us. I’m sure your father is very proud.
Enjoyed the tribute to Gene Tierney! She was one of my favorite Hollywood starlets! Wonderful actress! I have many favorites i.e. The razor's Edge and Laura!
Yes i know her and she was beautiful. I liked her in many but i do love the Ghost and Mrs. M. a great deal. She was a class act. thank you for sharing.
Gene is my all-time favorite Hollywood beauty (with Virginia Grey, Vivien Leigh, Simone Simon, Loretta Young, and Bette Davis after her). She always dazzles me with her performances. My favorite has to be "Laura," the quintessential film noir. I cannot fathom any other actress portraying Laura. This is followed by "Leave Her to Heaven." She is icy, cruel, manipulative, and beautiful as Ellen. It is a tour de force performance. I also highly recommend "Dragonwyck" with Vincent Price.
I loved Ms. Tierney, too. You're spot on w/your comments. When they remade "Leave Her To Heaven" w/Loni Anderson I said to myself, "WHY, OH WHY?! That's like remaking "The Sound of Music" or "2001 A Space Odyssey"....some films you just leave be!!!😮😊 I also loved Barbara Stanwyck. "Double Indemnity": She: We're both rotten. He: Only you're a little more rotten. My favorite Bette Davis films are "All About Eve" & "Jezebel". I love these old movies!🏆🎥💓
Absolutey my two favorite movies of Gene Tierney I just discovered her+ I know I'm way to young but I love the old movies thanks TO TMC+ My favorite us Gene Tierney's Laura+ Leave her to Heaven among many of get movies+ her beauty is UNREAL!!!!
I first was bewitched by Gene in the film Laura. I watched it on TV - encouraged by my mother who was a big fan of Gene’s and of classic films in general. It did not hurt of course that the theme music of the film - which became a popular song - was equally beguiling! I fell in love with that as well, and still play the theme on the piano after all these years. I then was encouraged to see Leaver Her to Heaven, by my life partner, who had been equally bewitched by Gene - both by her beauty and overwhelmingly by her powerful performance! Yes, then once again I chanced to fall in love with her all over again in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. She was a great beauty, and she carried her consummate talent so gently and subtly. I cannot forget her. Thank you for your faithful and heartfelt portrayal of Gene Tierney. I am touched deeply by this. Thank you for that!
I love Laura . I thought she was beautifully stunning! It was very sad to learn what she went through, but finally she was truly loved. I am so glad for her❤
I would like to add that I at the beginning I did not understand the relevance of you first removing your makeup, and then very gradually reapplying it as you took us through Gene’s story. As you finished, I realized that your technique was a perfect living metaphor of the gradual unfolding and revealing of Gene’s both tragic and heroic story. You have chosen a marvelous narrative technique for this great actress!
Hi. I am from Kennedy country. I have read it all and spoken on occasion to an eyewitness. Nothing has ever made me sadder than Ms. Tierney's story. I don't even suggest that JFK would have been a bad husband. Just, I can see, hear her pain in every film. Every film. I always could.
This was excellent. I adored Gene Tierney. I have to say Laura, but followed just a tiny smidge by Ghost and Mrs Muir. I hav3 seen them both several times. I think she was the most beautiful actress on the silver screen. Which is tough to say, because I also loved Lauren Bacall. There was something so sweet in Gene’s face, that drew you in. Both the above movies it is showcased beautifully.
What a delightful surprise to happen upon your channel, and your coverage of one of my favorite actresses of all time. I too consider The Ghost and Mrs Muir as a favorite. I have also loved her performancs. In Laura and Leave Her To Heaven. I would watch ANYTHING she was in! Such a beautiful and iconic actress. Btw LOVE the 40s makeup.
This is very interesting about Gene Tierney but the lady telling us about Gene is also funny watching her put her makeup on while she’s telling the story , she can multitask 😊This lady tells a story very well she makes me laugh. Thank you Ashley it’s been wonderful listening to you. I must say Ashley you look just as lovely asGene. I’ve seen a few movies of hers. I like her can’t remember those movies, but if I see them I’ll know. Thank you so much Ashley for entertaining me I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you. God bless you & your family.❤
What a fantastic video and channel. New subscriber and so excited to see more of your content. So much gratitude for your work. 🙏🏼❤️ Now it’s time to watch one of Gene’s movies. 😊
I am so glad you are back to doing these videos. Thank you. Did Gene tell the lady what she caused? My favorite movie was Laura. I would love to see you do Norma Shearer, Myrna Loy, Ann Sheridan
Can you do a vlog on Judy Holliday, comedian and friend of Lucille Ball? She's family from long ago, also knowing JFK but as a friend. This is my first time seeing your channel; as a content creator, you are the most original, poised and articulate. What a presentation ~~ applying your beautiful face as you present the beautiful Gene Tierney ~~ bring her to life for those of us after that period piece of the Hollywood Hay Day. Glad to hear you have a happy, healthy son! Keep on rockin, girl!
First time seeing you Ashley. You made Gene Tierney's life so real. You have a pleasant voice and a generous way of telling the story. I loved Gene Tierney. Laura was a favourite movie but she was good in all her movies. I believe I have seen most of them. She completed her journey with courage. Thank you.
I'm catching up watching so many old movies and came across Gene Tierney. what a talented beautiful woman she was! i'm sorry she had so much sadness in her life. I'm happy she found real happiness with a man who really appreciated who she was toward the end of her life
I just rented and watched The Ghost And Mrs. Muir three times over the last two days! I have never seen your channel before, so tuning into your Gene Tierney biography is a delightful surprise! You did an excellent presentation. Thanks very much.

Ashley I have just found you on TH-cam. Don't change. I was mesmerized by your info and your beautiful makeup. You have a very pleasant voice and you are very informative. Gene was a favorite actress of mine. Keep up the great work 👍 ❤
Absolutely one of my most favorite actresses. She was so beautiful and so talented. Love every movie I've ever seen her in. The Ghost and Mrs Muir is my favorite.
I didn't discover Gene until The ghost and Mrs. Muir But after I saw it I looked for more of her Movies and quickly she became My favorite. And that movie was definitely My Favorite. thank you for all your Digging I have enjoyed learning more about the stars.
Very impressive document, couple with a tutorial in makeup application. Dear Ashley you have a lovely personality and I truly enjoyed this biography. I've seen 4 of her best movies and always wondered why such beautiful and talented actress didn't do more? Well now thanks to you I have the answer. Thanks again all the best.

Hi, just found your channel and I really enjoyed your beauty biography on Gene Tierney. I also love makeup and have fair skin so I’m definitely interested in your content!
What brand of foundation and applicator did you use? They are awesome and you look awesome! I just met you for the first time last night and, I am now following you. Enjoyed hearing about JFK and Gene Tierney. Thank you, Ashley!
This is Regina Kyle, Ashley. I am Andrew’s wife and together last night we listened to your podcast (you have an inviting and melodic speaking voice) and watched you make up your face like a true professional makeup artist that you are! You can contour with the best of them and achieved stunning results! Andrew was amazed and told me, “You should buy that right away!” He knows I need a great product just like that for a great new foundation. It would give my face a “new lease on life” and a more youthful appearance, we have no doubt! I have already watched you apply it so skillfully and artistically, but I am just dying to know what brand you were using! It’s exactly what I’ve been searching for. I know women tell you how fabulous you look constantly - and the guys do too. I would love 💕 to know the name of your facial foundation! I am much older than you and I think this wonderful product would take some years off my face. My husband was entranced watching and listening to you, and he hopes you will answer my plea as much as me!!! (We’ve been married for 48 years now, and I want him to stay attracted to me because he is handsome and youthful for his age.). If you would be so kind to provide the name of this miraculous product, we will both be so very grateful! Thank you very much for kindness, and my Andrew (he is an adorable Scotsman) and I will be following you on UTube frequently! Very glad we met you. I am English and Scottish as well. He and I can’t wait to come back to your Beautiful Isle for another visit, hopefully for 2 weeks this time! Rule, Britannia! And Ashley, so do You! Thanks again, and Cheerio! Best to you from Coloradans, Regina & Andrew (from County Kyle) 💘🇬🇧

Hi, Ms. Ashley. Wow! I just love this. What a unique way of telling a biography. You are beautiful with or without makeup! Gene Tierney is one of my faves. I agree about The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. However, MY Very favorite has got to be the movie, The Razor's Edge. 1948, I think? With Tyrone Power. Just love what you are doing, Ms. Ashley! Look forward to more!!
She was truly one of the most attractive women and talented actresses. Very interesting to actually hear of her life. Hope her years with Howard in Houston brought her some happiness.
The story about Gene Tierney's daughter's condition was the inspiration for one of Agatha Christie's books. I believe the story is called "The Mirror Crack'd From Side to Side". I wonder if Gene knew about Agatha Christie's book? I think that Gene Tierney was beautiful inside and out.
You're right, there's no doubt that Agatha Christie, in her book, incorporated the incident in Gene's life when she realizes with horror that she's speaking to the very woman who broke quarantine so she could go to the Hollywood Canteen & unwittingly passed German Measles on to Gene.
I'm a retired Hollywood makeup artist. Rarely do I subscribe the first video, but I adored this even more than my beloved channel "Murder, Mystery, and makeup"
I’ve never watched a video of yours, but after seeing this one, you can bet I’ll be watching more. I loved this video and the way you presented it. I’ve seen Gene in talk show appearances and loved LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN. A truly glamorous gorgeous woman and you did her justice. Thanks so much.
I have just discovered beauty biography, and I absolutely love it. The stories are fascinating, and your way of telling them is really engaging. I am looking forward to the next one. Thanks so much, Ashley ❤
THIS was Such a Treat, I Adore Your Voice its Very Soothing And You Were Born to Tell These purposeful Story's 💟 I LOVE HER You did An Amazing Job Telling "HerStory"💟 My Favorite Movie Of Hers Is "The Ghost And Mrs.Muir " 🎦 Ty For This Information ive Always Wanted to Know More About Her Life🙏 Esp Because I Also Suffer From Bipolar Disorder And my Husband Was Killed By A Car Accident In 2015💔
Wow, blown away with this very human biography of our Hollywood Starlet Gene Tierney and your story telling talent. I am now a new subscriber and looking forward and enjoying more of your content. Congratulations on your baby boy.
Have you read GT’s biography, A Portrait of Gene Teirney? It is by far the most honest story of an actress’s true mental anguish over the course of her adult life. The highs, the lows and her strong desire to eliminate the extreme lows. The biography gives the specific treatments she received in chronological order. I purchased it at a library book sale.

PS despite her pious, squeaky clean image, Loretta Young has some definite skeletons in her closet. How about a Loretta video?
Bette Davis a beauty?
I loved Ms. Tierney, too. You're spot on w/your comments. When they remade "Leave Her To Heaven" w/Loni Anderson I said to myself, "WHY, OH WHY?! That's like remaking "The Sound of Music" or "2001 A Space Odyssey"....some films you just leave be!!!😮😊
I also loved Barbara Stanwyck.
"Double Indemnity":
She: We're both rotten.
Agree 100 %
I am so glad for her❤
Really beautiful women!!!
JFK was a HORRIBLE husband to Jackie! He was a serial cheater.
Where did she get her dark beauty from? Was she of Jewish or Italian extraction? Just incredibly gorgeous.
How sad very sad
Thankfully she did NOT marry JFK b/c true to form, his assassination would have killed her too....
Love Gene Tierney’s films. I’ve read her autobiography. Leave Her To Heaven is my favorite film!
Ashley, you are such a lovely person. Thank you for the history on Gene Tierney and her life.
She was gorgeous and so elegant! I wonder how she would have been as our First Lady
I’m with you. I loved The Ghost and Mrs Muir. I haven’t seen most of the other films but now I intend to!!!
Thx for this story….Loved her in Laura and Ghost and Mrs. Muir….what a beautiful woman and person…😊
ooooooooh i waited for this! im telling you this will pick up soon!
Thank you! 🥰
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir one of my all time favorites of Gene Tierney!! Great channel!
The Ghost and Mrs Muir is my favorite also. You gave a good performance yourself!
Definitely, my favorite movie was The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. This was a very nice biography of a lovely and very human actor.
Thank you! 🥰
Time spent listening to you was the time very well spent. Thank you, Ashley!
I appreciate your crisp, clear, innunciation of words complete with mildly peppered, commentary. Very unique channel and I'm subbing.
Thank you! 🙏🏻
I would love to see you do Norma Shearer, Myrna Loy, Ann Sheridan
gene didn’t tell the lady who gave her the measles!! I can’t believe it I would have had to scream at the lady!
Great story love Gene ssd's he is a wonderful actress and very beautiful. Thanks
First time seeing you Ashley. You made Gene Tierney's life so real. You have a pleasant voice and a generous way of telling the story. I loved Gene Tierney. Laura was a favourite movie but she was good in all her movies. I believe I have seen most of them. She completed her journey with courage. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words! 🥰
I'm catching up watching so many old movies and came across Gene Tierney. what a talented beautiful woman she was! i'm sorry she had so much sadness in her life. I'm happy she found real happiness with a man who really appreciated who she was toward the end of her life

Ashley, you are a beautiful lady yourself!! I thought you did a great job telling us about Gene Tierney. You spoke kindly, and were empathetic about her low moments in life.. You also do great make-up, and that is an extra bonus! Thanks, and congrats on a wonderful video.
Love “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir”. So romantic! Also “Laura”, an excellent showcase of Gene Tierney’s acting ability!

Hi, just found your channel and I really enjoyed your beauty biography on Gene Tierney. I also love makeup and have fair skin so I’m definitely interested in your content!
What a delightful find you are! Thanks and looking forward to many more!
Thank you for remembering and showing us all about Gene Tierney

I love anything vintage and old Hollywood I’m so excited for this video anything that has to do with JFK I’m here for it
Hi, Ms. Ashley.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words!
She was truly one of the most attractive women and talented actresses. Very interesting to actually hear of her life. Hope her years with Howard in Houston brought her some happiness.
I love your style of story teller while at the same time doing your makeup. You look stunning. Keep it up. 😍😍👍👍✌🏻✌🏻🇵🇰🇵🇰🇺🇸🇺🇸🇧🇷🇧🇷🇺🇸🇺🇸
Stunning beauty. I always think of her in "The Razor's Edge."
I'm a retired Hollywood makeup artist. Rarely do I subscribe the first video, but I adored this even more than my beloved channel "Murder, Mystery, and makeup"
Thank you! This is an incredible compliment and I appreciate you taking the time to leave such a kind comment! 🥰
I have a cover from "Screenland" from October 1946 that my late mom put in her scrapbook, and it has Ms. Tierney on it, in glorious color!
I have just discovered beauty biography, and I absolutely love it. The stories are fascinating, and your way of telling them is really engaging. I am looking forward to the next one. Thanks so much, Ashley ❤

Thank you. I just loved your presentation and all the wonderful insight into the life of this marvelous actress!
Thank you!!
I read Gene Tierney's autobiography years ago.
Her autobiography is called Self-Portrait and was co-written with Mickey Herskowitz. Wonderful book.
Loved this. Your terrific. Thank you.
My favourite movie of all time is Laura. Gene was a goddess!
