I think 6.9 is low but I agree with his argument. I'd give a 7, or a 7.5 at highest. The closer your mistake is to the ultimate result the bigger it is. It's the inverse of the goal/assist situation. It's standard to give someone with a goal or assist a ratings boost. But, in general, if there weren't good play before it in the build-up that opportunity never arises. The scoring play is usually a cascade of good play that ends in someone ultimately making good on the opportunity. The person who ultimately scores the goal is given the biggest piece of the pie. It's the same with giving up a goal. The penalty drawn against the USA was a cascade of events that started with Johnny putting Scally in a tough position. From there there was a cascade of players not solving the problem. Scally made a bad pass, Ream got turned around, McKenzie failed to clean up. But the biggest part of that play was Turner giving up the penalty. Sure Turner was put in a bad position by the cascade of events beforehand, but he was the one who committed the foul. How many penalty fouls are committed by players who weren't put in a bad position before they committed the foul? Surely a minority. And therefore, saving his own penalty is a wash. As far as the near olympico, it was a good play but it was nothing spectacular. It's expected that a keeper playing well should not give up such a goal. If he gives that up some might call it a howler, in fact. I think it would be a little harsh but I do think that that narrative would be out there.
The USMNT fought through a tough game despite poor playing conditions. Away games in poor field conditions playing a Concacaf ankle bitter less talent Jamiac team are not fun games to be a part of. You did it! Congrats!
@@christianstivason, as long as they keep a good rotation of pundits from different teams and not just big teams it can work sadly sky only has united, city, chelsea,Liverpool, and arsenal all the time so there is never an opinion outside of those teams
He tries to make headlines on a show that only HARDCORE soccer fans ever watch. All of which think he’s a turd that doesn’t know a got daym thing. Bro is a pure jealous jackass!!!
Pochettino is bringing out the hunger of the Lions 🦁 in the United States Team, but Some players(1) Should retire as they are not Sharp as before (2) Some players are not bring out their hunger as Lions as they know there is no serious Competition for their Position 😳🤔
6.9 for a guy that saved a penalty and a near olympico. wow I'm speechless

He look like sweeper keeper too.. coming off the line
Tim Howard set the bar high for GK
This issue with Tim is there is no one else that is better then him either to injuries or lack of talent
Trusty has been in good form lately and has been looking a lot better on the ball
Still don't understand how CBS thinks this guy Alexis should be a TV sports pundit
Diversity hire
Freakin Nice
After the first goal the pitch made it turn it off.

Who else feels that the guy wearing the Germany jersey doesn't know a thing about the sport
Yea I think America media should embrace the player--> pundit pipeline like England. I don’t like these fandoms who have probably never touched a bwll
he's the worst sports "pundist" in the world, cbs has way better experts
