    I just installed the 8k/9k set on my Studio 1993 Les Paul and it is exactly what I needed. Perfectly balanced sound and big tight bass response. Not transparent, hi-fi PAF classic sound instead. The bridge pickup sounds like a dream. Thank you Lindy!

    I purchased the 7.5/8 at Amazon (Chicago Music) because of the shorter wait. Thanks for all of your help. The pickups have turned my average sounding Les Paul Classic into a wonderful instrument.

    Thanks - now I just have to decide on the 7.5/8 vs the 7.8/8.2 -- You videos help a lot !!

    Is it my imagination or is the neck pickup the black PRS SE flip backwards with screws going towards the bridge?

      @ZblockWoW 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brent Harmon Yes, the screws are towards the bridge.

    I would like to have the sound of Bernie Marsden "The Beast" Les Paul sound. What pickup should I order and value?

  • @jasem1767

    Both sets sound excellent. What pot values were used in the two guitars? Also, were any particular value or type of tone caps utilised? Nice work 👍

    I didn't see the 7.8 and 8.2 Pure PAFs on your website. How do I order them.

    Hey lindy. Was just wondering if there would be anyway that you can make a set of pure pafs that would fit a standard p90 route. I've got a Gibson sg classic that I'd like these pickups in but wanna avoid routing

  • @wilfredmercado1835
    @wilfredmercado1835 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are these the standard paf? Is there a difference between covered and uncovered

    • @jennyfralin357
      @jennyfralin357 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Pure PAF means lower output, butyrate bobbins, 42 PE wire and alnico II magnets. The Modern PAF is a little hotter, still 42 PE wire and ALNICO 4 magnets.

      Jenny Fralin what can you recommend for the cream tone? And bluesbreaker Beano album.

    Hi Lindy! I'm lookin for a pair of Unbuckers, but I want it with black covers (like a Split Coil). Is it possible?

      I want to put them in a Sabre-like guitar and I want it to look a-like!

    Hi... cool demo! I have a pretty "bright", chambered Les Paul (faded standard) loaded with Burstbucker Pros. The bridge is so bright on the treble strings, that I have to lower that side quite a bit. I'm also finding it quite difficult to balance both the neck and the bridge (set for the bridge and the necks mud and vice versa). I play classic rock and blues and I'm wondering if you're slightly overwound Pure's will work for me. I don't mind bright and clear, but shrill just kills me... any thoughts would be a great help...

    • @baylin95
      @baylin95 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the response! Sounds like the normal PAF for the bridge that you have mentioned (9K) would do the trick... Would the neck pickup in that set go very dark, or would there still be some clarity? Should I consider a split set? Perhaps the 9k normal PAF in the bridge, and something that would be a bit clearer in the neck?

    Hi Lindy, Question: I'm toying with the idea of replacing the bridge PU in my parts Jazzmaster. I have a DiMarzio "36 Anniversary" in the neck - which I like a lot - and I'm wondering which "Pure PAF" - or any other humbucker you make - would best match the DiMarzio in terms of balanced output and tone. Thanks!

    • @lindyfralin3868
      @lindyfralin3868 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you routed for a hum bucker or Jazzmaster?

    • @iluvj50
      @iluvj50 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your reply. I'm routed for a humbucker. The "Pure PAF" looks like it would be a great replacement in the bridge. Would you recommend the lower or hotter output to match the DiMarzio? I mostly play clean although I do need the bridge PU to sing when I step on my distortion pedal.

      I usually like the bridge to be 8-10% hotter than the neck, do you know the specs on the neck pickup? Lindy

    Hello Lindy . I am looking for fralin pure PAF but my question is, can i play some high gain songs with it? Iam versatile player of much stile therefore i looking for something universal..

    • @lindyfralin3868
      @lindyfralin3868 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can play high gain with lower output pickups, they will give you more control of the guitar and more dynamics. Lindy

    Ok, so for a short summary, because this video shows up when you google for the Modern P.A.F.
    The first pickup shown here is a slightly hotter Pure P.A.F. with Alnico 2 Magnets.
    But the Modern P.A.F. has Alnico 4 Magnets and is hotter than even this slightly hotter P.A.F here. 9 K on the bridge compared to 8.2 K.
    Although Lindy doesn't mention the actual name, I assume those are showcased in the black PRS guitar.

      You are right, Pure PAFs were 7.5-8k for a while and now we make them anywhere from 7.5-8.5. The Modern PAF wasn't named that yet, as it was our only humbucker set before Pure PAFs. Everyone used to want to sound like the Allman Brothers and now we sell a lot of lower output, prettier pickups, (Pure PAFs).
