These rideshare companies have let illegals overrun their platforms and price out veteran drivers. They pretend it isn't happening, but we all see it.

The consumers of rideshare want convenience, competitive fares, and peace of mind. Unlivable driver wages by way of monopolistic corporate abuse reduces the quality of both the drivers and their vehicles which compromises safety, and moreover, creates a hostile environment in this unshared shared economy that erodes the peace of mind and public trust that the consumers will be provided a professional and safe mobility experience.

13:00 - That city is still on the rate card. My city is the same way, and I like it. I know what I get per mile driven, and per minute driven. I can then go back to look at the data for the ride and actually calculate my fare independently to see if I was paid what I was supposed to be paid. They can't offer me $1.15/mile on one trip, and then $0.60/mile on the next.
When I get a surge, or a boost, or a promo on that ride, I know I got the whole thing. I know Uber didn't show a $10 surge on the ride, yet offer the fare at a $6 discount, to where I only effectively get $4 of the surge.
I might not know the destination of my rider, but I know how far I'm going and in what direction. That gives me at least an idea of where I'm going, and I've been doing this long enough, I have gotten really good at guessing. I also keep my acceptance rate high so I can see this information.

Bravo for standing up for yourself, Gary! It's too bad though, that absolutely nothing will be done about it. They simply don't care. And that's why I stopped driving years ago. I got a little peek under the hood when Lyft offered me a spot on their Executive Ambassador team as a reward for being a top performing driver in my region (and I went on to being a top performing recruiter for them as well), and I did NOT like what I discovered. Not one bit.

Well said well spoken, same things happening here in Chicago especially with that you accept the call that’s profitable and then all of a sudden loading then send you a cheaper ride and what’s up with this pick up 20 minutes. Drop off four minutes or pick up 20 minutes. Drop off 20 minutes for eight and nine dollars Uber what’s wrong with your algorithm but also they’re not gonna care that you’re leaving because you are someone that’s making money one less person they have to pay

Sergio, you should start teaching drivers the ins and outs of trading/investing in a structured class with lessons progressively building up, perhaps having modules as learning on demand and live classes with q&a. I bet most drives who are really sick of this rideshare scammers would subscribe to better themselves through other ethical means.

Quit calling knowing your worth - "Cherry-picking", I fucking hate that word. It makes it sound like we're the problem. The national Acceptance Rate issue on both platforms is an UBER AND LYFT PROBLEM not a driver problem. When we had a rate card my AR was always above 90%. Once UFP started and the offers for $4-$5 for 15 and 20 min total rides became the norm, our AR's went to shit. We're NOT cherry-picking, we're ONLY accepting rides worth our time. Most of us have $1500/2000 per month overhead in this business, we cannot accept the BS they're offering and remain profitable. If it goes any lower, I could realistically make more flipping burgers at McDonalds and save the $2000/month overhead.

Some companies if not all sometimes create an issue in order to justify something later such as perhaps demand congress allow more AI driverless vehicles .... trucking industry for decades has been claiming driver shortage lol but really it's just cuz not many want to take short cheap loads or definitely long haul cheap loads. So.... it's a fast track for foreigners to hop in a semi "lawfully" yet with minimal care for whatever area they're in. Problem reaction solution!

I hate when uberdrivers complain that they can't earn a living, gig work should be a side hustle not your soul source of income. WITH THAT BEING SAID, regardless of it being used to earn a living or spare cash, it is still independent work and could be compensated appropriately and they need to stop scrapping from use to put in the company's pocket. Back to my first comment, and why I say that, we all heard about states trying to force them by making a set hourly wage, which doesn't help us. Stop worrying about hourly earnings, its a COST per MILE job PERIOD. they need to set a better minimum base per mile that drivers receive then surge based off of supply and demand. the BASE rate should be worth accepting a ride, and surge/tips a BONUS and not determining the value of the ride. I don't care what they charge RIDERS, if I accept a ride with a reasonable rate, I will accept that, but don't force me to accept junk because I need to receive some sort of income. AGAIN not able to earn a living should not be the premise of the complaint, the shady practice should be.

It seems, The moment that anyone starts bragging about how great they've had it on the platforms, the platforms deactivate them for nothing. And some insurance companies won't even insure Rideshare drivers or they have exclusions in their policies that says "you can not charge a fare unless you are working on Uber & Lyft and accept their fares. State Farm is such an example. That puts State Farm in cahoots with price-fixing along with Uber & Lyft, and the FTC should investigate State Farm for them going along with Uber & Lyft and charging the drivers for a Rideshare policy, increasing their premiums 15-20% but giving the driver NO COVERAGE if they are involved in an accident while having the app turned on, or in the case of using the HUM app, which drivers can charge a fare and operate under ADOT rules as a Vehicle For Hire (Livery), State Farm will not cover drivers EVEN IF THE STATE GIVES PERMISSION TO DRIVERS AS A VFH SERVICE, saying, "State Farm has the right to insure anyone they want, but we won't insure Livery drivers." But they will charge your personal policy 15-20% more for no added service from them (State Farm), and if you do not accept paying the added premiums, then you are free to shop elsewhere for insurance." Then the other insurance companies raise their rates, like Progressive, hoping Rideshare drivers will sign on with them and get the premiums State Farm loses when a driver switches to them, but at least Progressive will cover Livery services and while drivers are on the app traveling, waiting for a ride, but have not yet accepted a ride on any app.
Thanks Progressive for doing the right thing! If only you would lower your premiums because drivers are becoming "insurance poor," and the majority are safe drivers ANYWAY.

My advice to this guy is to stay in the game and stop taking those trick rides if you can. Its a game, play to win!😉

I was a full time Uber driver . I am deactivated for nothing. I am about to go to court. Wish me Luck! We need justice for people who bought a car to work for Uber and deactivated!

If you think you’re “working for” Uber you’ll lose in court. You’re an employee that’s been fired.
U gotta learn your rights as an independent contractor
