As a 73 year old long time bowler of one hand, I plan to switch to 2 hands this summer with the hope of bowling 2-handed in league next fall. After watching Parker bowl the tour all those years, I never knew he was so funny. I mean really humorous! 😂 This is an awesome video. Justin bowled really well for throwing plastic. I hope Parker recovered quickly.
In my Sunday night league on old wood with left over oil from the league before my league and I have a sanded plastic ball I throw A LOT it is the Geico viz-a-ball that you would see on TV when the original inferno came out all blue with the black Gecko foot prints . I cashed in Vegas with it and I impressed ej tackett and Marshal Kent with me throwing it. And my dad heard Marshal reply to a guy saying who is that and Marshal said my name and they both said they haven't seen anyone hook a plastic ball like me before. And I am still using that ball now. And it is going to Vegas this year
Parker, I remember when Justin and Brandon were maybe under 6 and your daughter was still a baby. We bowled together during a Pro-Am at Thurway Lanes in Cheektowaga, NY. And after the pro am was done for the day, Justin and Brandon were bowling and you were right there helping them start their great bowling careers. You are a great person and enjoyed my time bowling with you!
The one thing everyone fails to see is, although 2 handed bowling is taking over, Justin Bohn, or Anthony Simonsen, or whoever other 2 handed bowlers out there are on tour, they won't come close to the achievements of Parker, WRWJr, Duke, PDW, Couch. These guys were built different. 2 handed bowling made it easy for everyone to score.
@@kylebryantdover1921 I don’t have anything against 2 handed bowlers. It’s a weird sight seeing these older bowlers throw 2 handed. When they have only been 1 handed.
Parker!! You can do it all! You definitely look better throwing 2 handed than Walter Ray. Justin-you were crushing the pins with that plastic ball one handed! Great show Gentlemen! Always appreciated.
I started taking bowling seriously back in 1995 at the age of 19. Back then when I first started I was using the old 2 finger method that's what we called it back then not 2 handed. It was easier to turn the ball up with revs using only 2 fingers vs a traditional 2 finger-thumb style. People pushed me away from using 2 fingers and 2 hands is my point. People told me that is not bowling people told me to stop and practice my 3 finger handed traditional style. Still to this day, I use a one-handed 3 three-finger style. At one point in my life, I was a scratch player bowled 5 nights a week league. I am from Battlecreek Michigan I feel I grew up and learned in one of the greatest bowling towns in Michigan. Parker 3, I got the chance to meet you once at M66 in Battlecreek one night you subbed in on the Scratch league. My buddy's dad shot 300 on ya! Parker 3 you are one of my favorite pros from back in my bowling prime of the 90s you and Walter Ray. Oh yea I loved ya in Kingpin!
I stopped bowling about ten years ago, but back in the 1980's and 90's, the shot Justin was playing at fifth board or further out was my favorite line.
PB3 has one of the cleanest swings in the PBA!! The timing, release, and everything throughout the whole swing is just fluid! He has a powerful shot imho because of that.
I used to bowl a lot up until about 28 years ago. Gotta say the only time I saw someone bowling two handed back then was when little kids bowled, because they couldn't hold the weight of a six-pound ball. Not sure when this became a thing. I guess the reason is to get more spin on the ball? I used to get plenty of spin one-handed. Is there that much more oil on the lanes now?
I'd say it's just an evolution of the cranker style, and the two players who popularised it - Jason Belmonte and Osku Palermaa - did indeed need to use both hands as kids; except that they never stopped doing so even as they got older, and this style just developed naturally as a result. Players like EJ Tackett continue to show that you can still generate similar revs with one hand, but it's generally still a lot easier to achieve higher rev rates with two hands. Combined with Belmonte's incredible success as a pro, and it's no surprise that the style is so much more popular these days.
When I started back at 65 after an 18 year layoff, I considered two handed for about 30 seconds. I got a chance to bowl with PB3 at the US Open Pro Am last year. It was great fun even if he razzed me because of all my strikes. Signed up to bowl again this year.
I love the lessons being given here. Knowledge from both of you! And to Justin I bet I know why you don’t put your thumb in it… I’ve seen the collegiate vlogs… everybody is left after one game….
That was fun watching you two shoot straight up 5 in two different ways.. Now how about you guys come on our show Straight Up 5? Myself and JP Jr would love to have you guys on.
I met Parker, Walter Ray, and Burton Junior at a pro-am as a kid. Great guy! He offered my brother a cup-cake (he was eating one when we walked into the alley and bumped into him).
THE Mr nice guy on the tour 👍 and for those of you that don’t know. When the cat’s system first came out the had a challenge at the nationals before the Masters and Parker was THE most accurate bowler. Period. Love ❤️ this guy 👍🙏
I am a primarily one-handed bowler, however I do two-hand equally as often with about the same average. It is DEFINITELY easier to keep balance and control while two-handing!!
I am glad you are trying something new for fun, but your old style is incredible. I love watching Bowls; you have a consistent way to bowl. You are one of my favorite bowlers on the tour. Do you bowl pro anywhere? I would like to see you bowl.
I have to use a plastic ball for the 7 pin (I use to be right handed…had to change to left handed while in my 60’s). But I will use my plastic ball sometimes as a strike ball and it does hook quite a bit. I am a female and I have been told that I have a wonderful release…not bragging because now I am 72 ha ha
Where are all the people who say "Two handed bowling is so easy, learn to throw it with one hand?" I literally tell people every day that if you see a 2-hander... Chances are they started One Handed and they can crush you with either style. Had some guy after league pot bowl me for $100 a game, I grabbed a house ball off the rack and threw it one handed for 3 games and beat him all three lol. I didn't take his money, I just told him that he should respect the choice of style because Bowling is Bowling.
Ask your daddy Parker Bohn III about getting that style like Walter Ray Williams Jr. 2 handed throwing type "since I met Walter & Parker at the old Farmingdale Lanes" a few years ago. And I moved to Storm Bowling & 900 Global 4 years ago after leaving Team Brunswick back in early 2020 from my long history with your company since 1998. My bowling buddy Chris Via is a 2 handed bowler who uses two fingers & no thumb release swing. If that works for Parker on a synthetic pattern.
Hey Bohn family nice to meet you my name is Patrick Miller I may get strikes but my game sucks I definitely need help on a ton of things and I was wondering if you would be able to help me
He didn’t have to move right. He kept missing his target inside. First two frames he got it out and then began pulling inside. That’s why when he moved right and got it left, it never came back up.
I can confirm, had really bad tennis elbow bc my backswing wasn’t completely straight and was super hard to fix so went to two handed and I’m still trying to get back to my average
two handed is for those who can't throw a hook one handed....to me it's a "gimmick" -- I know there are consistently great 2 handed bowlers...but I love it in league when I'm against a 2-hander and I easily beat them (and it's funny to watch them try to pickup a 10 or 7 pin).

I don't care how people may think about it, hooking plastic is still pretty impressive.
Agreed

Anyone can hook a palatic ball playing straight up 5. Hook it 25 to 5 and back, that's impressive.
What's more impressive than Justin being able to hook with plastic is his ability to hook it at the speed he is throwing. Nicely done!
i can hook house balls, what does that make me... answer: i still suck lol
I love the humor that Parker Bohn has lmao. His dad humor is elite
This was a lot of fun. Parker, you are one of my heroes.
Balance and control at the line are the biggest keys to consistency!
I love shows like this between fathers and children!
Maybe get Troop & McCune to make a guest appearance?

Belmo is already nipping on their heels. And he's probably gonna be bowling for at least 10 more years.
I grew up watching PB3 over the years. Now I’m 30. Watching him throw 2 handed is disgusting 😂😂 but he makes it work. Legend!
Then you dont like belmo, simonsen, packy, keven williams..
I think he just meant it doesn't look right after seeing PB3 throw 2 handed when he's usually 1 handed.
@@CaseyGaming-h6k exactly
You forgot Chris Via (my pro-am bowling friend of mine) from Storm Bowling who also a two handed bowler & a PBA Strike Derby winner from last year.

PB3 sounds like a sitcom dad 😂. Great video.
A living legend and a legend in the making! You guys are awesome!
I love watching you guys. Watching your videos makes me feel so content. You guys have a sweet relationship
Love watching when the pros kids bowl against their parents. Awesome vid!
Playing 100% in the friction (off the corner) with plastic
worked really good..!
Never knew PB3 was that funny!!!!
man. it's nice seeing parker. i remember when he came up in '84 and watched him on abc. being a lefty, i liked his style, as well as earl anthony's.
PB3 has one of the cleanest swings in the PBA!! The timing, release, and everything throughout the whole swing is just fluid! He has a powerful shot imho because of that.
PB3 is just plain genuine. Even his humor. Oh, and one of the best bowlers ever. His son is right in his footsteps.

Watching PB3 in 2024 is wild when I met him in elementary school in the 90s. My bowling league did a “bowl with the pros” and he was one of them!
Parker is a legend and he's brought his kids up well. He's one of my favorite bowlers.
Parker bowling 2 handed for the first time is still better than most 2 handers I know that have been bowling a few years.
When I started back at 65 after an 18 year layoff, I considered two handed for about 30 seconds. I got a chance to bowl with PB3 at the US Open Pro Am last year. It was great fun even if he razzed me because of all my strikes. Signed up to bowl again this year.
Bowled with PB3 in a pro am years ago. He was a great guy for this left hander to bowl with.
Parker Bohn, one of the greatest ever!!!!
I love the lessons being given here. Knowledge from both of you! And to Justin I bet I know why you don’t put your thumb in it… I’ve seen the collegiate vlogs… everybody is left after one game….
Bowling Virtuoso's.
Both of you made the switch look easy.

Nice to see that even a legend makes the same beginner 2H bowling mistakes the rest of of did starting out.
LOL... don't get any speeding tickets with that ball speed Parker !!!!
So dope that they built this facility at my home lanes!
It's like watching Butch Soper vs. Steve Cook.
I've definitely modeled my game after PB3! (also a Lefty here) definitely my favorite bowler to watch growing up!
He throws it... Pretty good two-handed. Neat video!

Wait, how did Parker get the track off the fingers?
@8:52 it seems like he was explainable that he got his non dominant hand more on top??
Awesome! We need Specto on these shots.
What plastic ball are you using ?
Looked like a Columbia300 White Dot
@@janderson8401 Thats my thumb in spare ball. It looks great up 5 board with my thumb out!
I think that's the most hook I've ever seen Parker throw 😁
Plastic balls with a little rev rate is pretty sick up the gutter
When are y’all coming to blue river?
PB3 one of the all-time greats. I'm a lefty too but never realized we both were the same age. LOL.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
your dad seems like the nicest coolest professional bowler
Awesome video, but why are they talking to us like we’re in Dora or something😂😂
That’s what I’m saying love to watch their videos but the weird jump cuts and super scripted lines are cringey. Just be yourselves and talk naturally.
Parker has a sick hook 2 handed
Bc he's turning his hand too much. That's the biggest mistake everyone makes when they switch to 2h.
I must admit I still miss the 1992 'Stache, PB3...
I saw him in 2014 in New Jersey I was in special Olympic bowling tournament
Parker is THE ambassador of bowling.
Why did you switch to 2 hands? You throw it great 1 handed(and two).
Awesome video Justin!!

PB3 made a career out of playing the twig, It's awesome to see Justin playing out there.
I hate to say it (actually, no I don’t), but I think Justin is much better at 1 hand
I grew up watching PB3 with my mother I'm 51 now great bowler
Watching Justin throw it one handed he looks like Brandon just righty
Great game.thanks.👊🤪
There’s just something nostalgic about watching Parker Bohn throw a Teal Rhino
I want to see a tournament with all the pro bowler's kids in it. Would be cool.
I find it easier to bowl with my thumb in the ball because i feel like i am not going to spray it out
Love the content also im Matt's son from PJBT
Seeing PB3 bowl two handed is something I thought I’d never see
Parker did you ever throw the old Ultimate weapon urethane?
Bowling with two hands is like bowling with training wheels. I think the next step is to put sonotubes in the gutters like when the kids bowl...
I took lessons from Parker 35 years ago!
I wanna see Leslie bowl 2 handed. I haven’t seen her bowl since her days at WSU.
I think it's a lot harder going from single handed bowling to two handed.
I can confirm, had really bad tennis elbow bc my backswing wasn’t completely straight and was super hard to fix so went to two handed and I’m still trying to get back to my average
