That is why my boys won’t let me cut their hair. I screwed up (almost) years ago when they were quite young and I had to hand it off to my guy to fix and finish them. They never let me try again. He Does their haircuts every three weeks, an excellent job and it saves me hundreds a year, I take a seat every couple months, get caped, my elbow length hair combed out, center parted, sectioned, pinned up, then he will let it down to trim each layer in increments, no ponytail hacks. He does it in this manner as if you try to cut through too much hair at once, the blades push the hair before it cuts leaving an uneven mess. My mother watched hubby give my boys their haircuts one afternoon and commented that he does a very nice job, but it looks like too much work, she would just shave them bald. My mom always cut my bangs too short, so it runs in my family to not be trusted to cut hair.
