This might be controversial, but that's basically Ben 10 vs Green Lantern. A million things to throw at someone and only one is capable of giving them a chance, and then outclassed anyway.
Jáck Fenrír Ryu has the true dragon sword and the dark dragon blade, which were used to defeat a planet-level being, far stronger than anything Strider has ever achieved
ryu's feats didn't change much since back then until now, but i think analyse can be much more interesting, (i mean, this videa calculated their speed very badly, since both can be killed by single slash, it is important to calculate which one is fastest, and honestly, i think it is ryu, they down played his teleportation abilities, even kasumi by teleportation can almost bypass people,By running can gather enough kenetic energy on her fists to unleash on her foes, create countless after images, ryu also is also close to that speed and strider can't teleport SO...)
“Strider is 2 Thousand years old!” Bruh, you kinda done messed up big time. There’s two Striders. In Strider 2, it takes place two thousand years after the previous game. But the Strider in 2 actually shares the same codename. There’s two different Striders.
Felix Gutierrez I actually posted this elsewhere, and some people say Jonny would wreck Duke, others say Jonny stands no chance, I think this might be a much closer fight than what we think :'D
I agree that Hiryu has more sophisticated weaponry and abilities, but I think Ryu Hayabusa should've won because of his experience and feats. A true _Shinobi._
Rules to be a ninja 1. Screw stealth 2. Use the most flashiest weapons 3. Kill everyone 4. Where the most flashiest clothes 5. Why cover your face? Everyone will die before they see it 6. Have overpowered spells 7. Tell everyone your name 8. Don't sneak attack, fight out in the open 9. BE VERY LOUD, AND USE LOUD WEAPONS 10. If you are detected, it probably because you didn't kill everyone 11. YELL THE NAMES OF YOUR ATTACKS. 12. Read Naruto and do everything they do 13. Kill Everyone(just in case there are some people alive) 14. Forget honor, do whatever you want to do 15. Destroy stuff, just because you can 16. Make your presence known to everyone 17. Tell everyone where you came from 18. Make sure your clothes clash with all surroundings 19. Leave bodies out, everyone will be to dead to notice them 20. Disregard this whole list and search what REAL ninjas do(or watch gaijan goombas video on Ninjas)
Are we just gonna simply ignore the fact the Strider Hiryu relies on Technology to be a Ninja and as well as the fact that Ryu has more physical feats than him? Like fighting for days while having a cursed arm that was devouring his body and beating a goddess?
he doesn't rely on his technology , he needs the physical feats to reach Special-A in itself , the gadgets are actually a benefit for reaching that level.
strider literally went to and outclassed everyone at ninja school lol. dont discredit him theyre both great ninja but hes just faster and his kit hold up better. in the literal sense weapons are technology and ryu uses a lot of them too
Ryus stamina feats are insane as well, the whole first game happened back to back no breaks, light speed reaction time, able to defeat something said to easily one shot the earth over and over
that feels like a more fair fight since both series end up getting demonic uber powerful swords, though the lesser amount of modern games might leave Joe musashi at a disadvantage
Here are all the tools ryu has that they decided not to include for some reason: -Smoke bombs that make it difficult for enemies to guard -Windpath to stun enemies -Windblades, Piercing void ninpo, or any kind of ninpo with extended invulnarability -Talismans of god that can revive ryu and replenish ninpo gauge, he can carry 2 at any time in the highest difficulty - Unlaboured Flawlessness, which at low health could kill most things in one shot. - Ultimate techniques, notable ones being gleaming blade, windmill shuriken and scythe - Incendiary shurikens that cause long hitstun and explode. - Counter attacks that work on ANY attaack - Cicada surge which works as a counter attack at any point, even if ryu seems vulnarible. - Explosive arrows - Blade of the archfiend, and the dark dragon blade, which are the most powerful weapons ryu has. Ryu got severely shafted in this death battle and his abilities weren't very well shown, nor the playstyle of his games. I have to say this wasn't very good.
@@itssquark Blade of the achfiend is actually the name of the dual swords in ng2 where ryu wields both the true dragon sword and the blade of the arch fiend. But if you are talking about comparing the individual blades, then yeah, the true dragon sword is stronger as seen in the final boss of ng3re.
1st explanation, "Strider can cut peoples heads off with his bear hands." Ok. But aren't you forgetting that Ryu can cut machine gun turrets and spider tank legs off with sword that was meant to cut through people? He can also grab a person, leap 20 feet in the air and land on his opponents skull. I don't see a big strength disadvantage here. 2nd explanation, "Strider can dodge anti aircraft bullets". Ok. Its pretty obvious that Ben and Chad have never played ninja gaiden 3. If they did, they would know that there was a whole level where Ryu hopped from battle ship to battle ship dodging machine gun turrets that kept f 18 fighter pilots at bay,"Day 8 if you want proof". That's why they sent him in. To disarm the battle ships so the fighter jets could take out the battle ships. Even if the bullets in Strider`s era were more advanced, that still doesn't mean he is 43% faster than Ryu, it just means Ryu hasn't had the opportunity to dodge those kinds of bullets yet. Sorry Ben and Chad. This was a terrible death battle.
2nd explanation is wrong. They showed he can dodge bullets, specifically rapid fire bullets. 1st explanation is possibly arguable, but I've no knowledge of such.
Rapid fire bullets? I didn't know rapid fire bullets kept F18 fighter pilots away from battle ships. Check Day 7 one more time and tell me im wrong. I did put the wrong day in my last comment. apologies.....
Average anti aircraft bullets? They were intended to take down fighter jets. Not slow bombers. Anti aircraft fire doesn't get any faster than that amigo. And the comparison that Ben and Chad used was with "real" anti aircraft bullets which means they don't know exactly how fast the "specialized" ones are which means they don't know the 43% figure for sure. Yes, Strider could probably destroy the battle ship but that's because his plasma sword can go right through steel without much effort. Ryu could do the same though it would take longer. As far as unarmed Strider goes, your comparison is pretty bad. Humans are FAR more fragile and breakable than mecha robots. And if you think about it, his karate chopping through people really isn't THAT impressive compared to what normal human beings have done. Look at Mas Oyama "the founder of Kyokushin Karate." He has been known to take down Bulls with his bare hands and karate chop their horns off. A bone that is far more dense than a humans neck. Getting through the flesh and bone would still require more force, but if you compare this to what other martial artists have done, it really is not that far out of impossibility. Especially if he is attacking guards without body armor at their vital points. Strider would never even attempt to fight Ryu without weapons anyway so the feat itself is kind of stupid. Lastly, the god comparison. Ryu has taken down a 60 foot all powerful goddess at the end of Ninja gaiden 3. Ryu is a descendent of the Dragon God and that's why he can wield the dragon sword. Strider is just an orphan. Yes, Strider may have taken out the so called "creator" of his world, but that is probably more of statement of how much of a push over he is if he is toppled by a mere human.
yea but the allowed hiryu to use all his powers while they limited ryu powers.. ie the true dragon sword with the dragon eye, the summoning of the fire dragon and hey didnt mention that ryu cursed arm
Ryu should have won this fight assuming the feats given for Strider Hiryu are accurate (I'm not too familiar with the Strider series). In Ninja Gaiden 3, Ryu parried multiple strikes from a giant goddess's building-sized sword which could slice through skyscrapers like butter. He then cut the goddess herself in half. I think those feats may be a step above karate-chopping a person in half. He can even dismember enemies with kicks and throws, so he actually has hand-to-hand melee feats comparable to that karate chop. Speed-wise, he can block anti-aircraft bullets in NG2 and NG3, so Ryu and Hiryu should be a lot closer in speed than the video suggests.
Ryu has dodged lighting and can teleport, plus can literally stop time and can move even when time has stopped. He also killed universal reality warpers. Ryu should have won
Ryu cut a unbreakable sword with the Blade of the Archfiend in RG3RE and destroyed both in the process to get his Dragon Sword Back from the Godess. Assuming it kept his indestructible nature since its a Magic sword. Ryu Canon wise only got hurt once in modern Ninja Gaiden after he got almost killed by Doku. In Ninja Gaiden 2 to enable the rebirth of the Archfiend in full power. Even the Grip of Murder was used while the Regent took damage and it hurt Ryu after that but never got hurt canon wise. Ryu took down his repective Gods aswell as stated by fiends in Ninja Gaiden 2 that the Archfiend made humans and gifted them fire.
danielcwc Yea, I wasnt sure about the outcome when I first watched it but after reading the manga and playing some of the games realized people mayve been letting their bias be the judge of who should've won. They gave a pretty solid explanation 43% advantage in speed is a pretty specific amount and when you consider the fact that his bare hands do just as much damage as his opponents blade it really makes you wonder how dangerous that cipher is. They even mentioned he had no answer to that as well and gave him credit for the match being so close it was hard to decide and people still complained.
blacktee31 but what is the point on who wins? losing a fight don't makes a character less cool or lovable. i can't understand why people always complain
95onimusha Because in their eyes they think that character is the best. Everybody thinks their character is unbeatable. I just got back into comicvine battles and everybody is so obsessed with Naruto characters that in every battle it's a "stomp" not even a close fight in the eyes of stans no matter who they're matched against.
ClassicGameGuys Curbstomp? How so? They explained hiryu has a 43% speed advantage (very significant amount) as well a strength advantage and having no real answer for his cipher. I can understand saying Ryu shouldve won, but how does he stomp?
You might be underestimating wolf and his haxs, hayabusa spirit attacks could be blocked from astral or fire shield redirects the attack, snapseed clone away, ryu fighting style would also be his downfall cause he uses a lot of speed/constant attack to win a fight but by looking a sekiro techniques you would see this would be his downfall, sure you could ryu survives a death blow but also nothing new to sekiro, second by ryu lore it would take him a lot longer that sekiro to revive from such a blow. Which if ryu did land the first killing blow sekiro recovery time would catch him off guard. Edit Also confetti allows him to hit astral beings this could mean sekiro could not just attack him physically but also spirit damage ryu.
Bullshit, they forgot about two really important Ryu's abilities on the match: 1- The Retry button (for the try & error) 2- The ninja dog difficulty for unlimited healing. (before anyone gets mad, yes, this is a joke). Now the "serious" part, who is Strider Hiryu? as much as I'm a Ryu fanboy... According to the facts, it is hard to say who would win, but still, I'm not into Strider's story, which gaming franchise he is from?
This is one of those death battles that screwattack got completely wrong, from spotty incomplete research. Which is odd because Ryu has far more feats because of more frequent modern appearances so it should have been easy to find his feats. Ryu is stronger, faster, and more durable than Strider by a wide margin. They talk about Strider being strong enough to cut people in half with his hands. So what? Jan Lee is strong enough KO an abnormally large T.Rex and Ryu has defeated him. It goes farther. Ryu is so strong he can easily block the sword strike of a skyscraper sized goddess. Speed? Strider can side-step anti-aircraft fire, but Ryu can casually dodge hypersonic surface to air missiles from near point blank while *falling*, at terminal velocity. Hell, Ryu is also fast enough to dodge lightning. Durability? Strider has no real durability feats to speak of at all. Ryu has some regeneration and he is durable enough to tank an explosion big enough to span a huge chunk of Mt Fuji. He can also tank the self destruct explosions from the Volcano Armadillo bosses which are at least building sized. Ryu has hax with his ninpo as well.
"Ryu is stronger, faster, and more durable than Strider by a wide margin." It all depends on how all these things are measured. You can't measure actual strength by saying so and so KOed a large T. Rex but Ryu can beat him so he's stronger. That might mean he's better at fighting, but not actually stronger. Can Ryu KO a large T. Rex? Don't forget, Ryu also used his magical sword to block the skyscraper sized goddess and it didn't hammer him into the building as it should have. This shows that it wasn't only Ryu's physical strength that did this. "Strider can side-step anti-aircraft fire, but Ryu can casually dodge hypersonic surface to air missiles from near point blank while falling, at terminal velocity." Ryu was able to do that because he had lots of room (the sky) to anticipate them and react as he was falling from a large distance towards them. They were also large and comparatively easy to spot. Strider however dodged three of the weapons he did while all being fired at him at once from multiple trajectories while being trapped in a room with very little room to maneuver in. This would seem to be more difficult. "Durability? Strider has no real durability feats to speak of at all." Except for being on the Flying Battleship Balrog when it detonated completely in midair with Strider just falling from the sky without so much as a scratch Easily anticipating where lighting will strike because Ryu's (your) enemy telegraphs his attacks so well is not an example of dodging lightning. Ryu isn't that fast. In his cutscenes he's even seen being overtaken by enemies that he's supposedly already beaten. Even they can run faster than he does. He also takes minutes to defeat a single T-Rex while Strider kills them at a rate of about 1 or 2 a second in his games. This would make Strider much more effective.
Close Fight, clearly Ryu did a lot of damage seeing as Strider needs to use a med kit and Strider also did well with stopping most of Ryu's weapons besides the Dragon Sword. One killed God and the other killed the Devil....GREAT BATTLE
It's been 6 years since I saw this fight. Today, I got the honor to watch them battle once again in the year 2019. Arigato DEATH BATTLE *Bowing my head*
Let me correct that. Would you think Strider, Hotsuma, Hibana, Raiden, Grey Fox, & many other powerful ninjas( except naruto ) would make great allies to Ryu should he ever need it? Plus imagine if the Shinobi/Nightshade games had a reboot with better graphics & gameplay.
Ryu: defeated gods ,demons and dragons (I don't know anything else). Hiryu: defeated robots and immortal wizard and oh right marvel characters like Spiderman, hulk, captain america, and Thor a litteral god who defeated vegeta who destroyed a planet in the start of the anime and Thor defeated RAIDEN who is both god and demon
I do not think Ryu from Ninja Gaiden 3 would have lost. I was able to dodge bullets, missiles and other ninjas at the same time. As well as directly block physical attacks from giant Deity level foes with his pure strength.
RyanWatch MoreGaming True, but if you tell him to do it, he does, with ease.If I told you to jump into the air from a standstill to do a half gainer, dodge a missile and land and cut a person in half, could you do it?
Which reboot? The one you're able to play on PS3/PS4? If so then I suppose it'd be much more accurate to say that Strider was given a significantly higher percentage of his arsenal whereas Ryu was not even given half.
Ryu hit strider in the head in the first seconds of battle, dead. Then the high speed pileddriver, dead. The eclipse sycthe was made indestructable by Volf. Plus he didn't use most of his weapons. I really think Ryu Hyabusa would win this battle.
Well the fight is just for entertainment. Strider is 43% faster which is always the deciding factor in a fight. Strider's falchion will just cut through the rest of the weapons even if Ryu did use them. If you want to know what happens to the real fight then start here 9:15
Jace Mira they got Hayabusa's speed wrong... Hiryu is super sonic speed. but Hayabusa as someone who has played the games knows (without instantaneous teleports which Hayabusa spams at a whim in the game) moves at hyper sonic speeds because he is able to dodge hyper sonic bullets and intercontinental ballistic missiles that are also hyper sonic speed. also Hayabusa's sword is indestructible as it was created by the dragon god... if we refer to DB's link vs cloud vid they said the Hyrule shield couldn't be broken on the bases of it was made by a god. no limits fallacy I know but if we use that rule then Hayabusa's sword not only can't be broken but he wouldn't be able to be killed as something they left out in the video.... >.> Ryu Hayabusa IS the dragon god. in the forums Ben said that the determining factor between the battle was that Strider sliced a guy in half with his hand... if that's the case Hayabusa STILL would have won as he used telekinesis in the first game to slice a boulder into pieces with his mind. there were FAR too many feats, facts and abilities not even mentioned on Hayabusa's part. also they forgot that Hayabusa has the ability to resurrect himself without the use of items... this was something that happened in the canon of the story in the first game.
aristokraticassassin I really can't argue with you with Ryu since i have not played any solid game with him (except warriors orochi which he was only a side character). Well of course almost any ninja game would give you a blink/teleport skill for games cool dodging purposes but does not have an actual basis that we can rely like manga or what they have really done. And If he was really fast, why does he need a heal/resurrect ability if he is fast enough to dodge any hit while Strider's medical gadget is for game purposes of healing, in the manga as far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong) dodged all attacks. And if Dragon sword really is sharp or indestructible, why does he need to thrust his sword from the glass to the old man as seen on the video and can be seen that he is exerting force for the sword to pierce through the glass while Strider's sword cuts almost anything on his game like debris, wall, robots etc. I believe DEATHBATTLE is getting info from reliable sources. And don't get me wrong, I like both ninjas.
You have a good argument. You have to take into consideration that at full power the dragon sword can make a metal as dense as iron explode on touch. So as he did hit Ryu in the head, the density of the skull is much less than the density of iron so he would have made Strider's head explode.
If you actually played all three Ninja Gaiden games you know for sure that ryu would not lose to him simply based on how strong his dragon blood is…ryu has fought all kinds of demons went to hell and came back.
This isn't the only death battle video where the the strongest moves are completely underestimated. Hiryu's head would have exploded as soon as Ryu successfully Izuna dropped him on his head.
@@koreancowboy42 The "popularity contest" argument is so stupid, I somehow thought I'd never see it again. Honestly, they most likely didn't show the dragon in the animation because they didn't have a sprite for it
aadb Same with Strider. I guess they just used the ones they thought the characters would find to be most effective against their opponent. They already showed that many of Ryu's weapons were useless against Strider, for example.
obviously the spider clan be like "wow, so we can stab him in the chest and he'll just take damage not die?, but then this guy literally just punched him and he died??????????????? wtf!!! totally unrealistic 0/10 would not watch again."
@@warlynx5644 ryu has a literal family falcon animal spirit that revives him whenever he dies, it even revives him in cutscene when he does in the very first 3d ninja gaiden. death battle tried to shoehorn it as a mere game mechanic to enable strider to get the win when its ryu's literal family plot hax ability. ryu can't die and outlasts strider, ryu wins.
@@infern209x Does it only work once? True, while Death Battle removes resurrective abilities the point to be made still holds in that Hiryu simply outclasses Ryu in every way; it wouldn't matter how many times he revived.
Hey I was just wondering one thing if Strider can use his inventory why cant ryu? Like the talisman of rebirth. I'm not crying or mad i'm just asking a question.
abbrown38 just to shut up the fans about his tech. otherwise Ryu wouldnt regenerate his life. notice they didnt include Striders tech about Earthtremors and the fire tech they use for a blast he never had?
1 hayabusa actively uses Ninpo in his attacks. 2 ultimate technique was not used, and it is Ryus most powerful ability. He could easily use the Art of the Flame Phoenix to defend himself whilst charging 3. Ryu has medical supplies as well. 4 ryu has defeated 3 volcanic armadillos, 1 T Rex, countless demons, multiple dragons including a skeleton, multiple tentacle monsters, and takes rockets to the face on a regular basis. He butchered four of the Archfiends disciples (Murai, Emperor of Vigoor, Dagra Dai, Dark Dragon) killed the Greater Fiends: Genshin, Obaba, Istharos and Nicchae once, Alma, Doku, Volf, Alexi, Zedonius, and Elizébet twice, Marbus three times, and three gods (Archfiend Vazdah, Kana, Devil)
+Mandrake 5 There's no such thing as a single ultimate technique that will work the same on every foe. He would know he had no ultimate technique that would work on a Strider. And how long did it take Hayabusa to kill that 1 T-Rex again? Does it compare at all to killing up to approximately 4 a second like in Strider's first game?
Why wouldn't an ultimate technique work on a strider? as long as he could charge it he would have no problem landing it on Hiryu. It most definatly would not one shot him, but it would do measurable damage. Hayabusa had much less to work with when killing his T-Rex, as he doesn't work with light sabers too much. And lets be honest, Ryu could only attack the dino when it fell down because its legs were made of a metal and he had no experience fighting it. On top of that, Hiryu's dinos were robots that had specific patterns of attack, as compared to a wild animal that just bashed things without reason. Hiryus were slower and only had 2 dimensions to them. which help when you are a ninja that can move more than 3 MPH.
Mandrake 5 Well, Ryu wouldn't have the time to summon anything effective so it essentially would make any ultimate technique pointless, and he probably would have known that here. Strider's not going to just wait around after all. There was only one dinosaur made of a metal in Stider's first game (the 'boss' of the Amazon stage) and it goes down in about 2 seconds. All others, including T-Rex, are wild animals that go down much faster (like I said, approximately 4 a second). As with Hayabusa, he'd also had no previous experience fighting dinosaurs so that's no excuse. Strider doesn't use a lighsaber, either, it's actually a sword (supposedly indestructible) with a physical blade that emits plasma through accessing Strider's immense internal energy. Only Striders at his level can make it more than just a sword. The end result is still an energy weapon similar to a lightsaber though.
Ryu doesn't summon anything. Ultimate techniques charge very fast to the 1st stage. One art of the void to keep strider distracted for a few seconds and he would've been done in. I've used similar combos in game to the exact same effect. The only downside to that plan is that it would be all or nothing, and if Ryu failed, Strider would whip him. I looked it up and I cant see anything about living dinosaurs. not saying that you are lying, but I cant find any. The point was that Ryu had less advantages than Hiryu, as Ryu's weapon at the time was a regular (though extremely well constructed) katana. Hiryu's sword however emits plasma to nearly the same effect as a light saber AND can extend its length, which is plain ridiculous. I DEMAND A REMATCH!
Mandrake 5 Perhaps summon isn't the best word to describe what Ryu does when he concentrates for a period of time to perform certain ninpo techniques, but that's still time he really doesn't have against a Strider, scratch that, the best Strider ever. Strider doesn't get distracted either, that's part of his lore. His Options are designed to run interference for him while he zeros in on his prey. That way he only ever needs to focus on what's important. Strider's sword doesn't extend its physical length, it's the regulation of the plasma output that actually extends the sword's range. As for the living dinosaurs: Just type in 'Strider dinosaurs' into google. The first result here links to the Striderpedia article on them.
So because Strider has a plasma sword? Remember that one time when Ryu actually had one? Oh, and he can freeze time and shoot out a literal black hole. As for the automatic rifle, he has gone up against more than a simple automatic rifle bullet.
its just a skin for the dragon sword, it has nothing special, its still the dragon sword with an extra pixel. hayabusa can't freeze time, and even regular ninjas can dodge his nimpo. hiryu is still faster than ryu.
***** "It is a futuristic weapon, but it is *exactly the same as the Dragon Sword* and it's fully upgraded variant, the True Dragon Sword." itakagi also said in a interview that the plama saber is still the dragon sword, its just a skin for the dragon sword, meaning that its not a real plasma sword, so it won't make a difference.
I think you guys should mention that Ryu could use the "Talisman Of Rebirth" which allows him to be brought back to life if he should ever die. He also have health and ki/ninpo items like: - Herb Of Spiritual Life - Restores a small amount of health - Grains Of Spiritual Life - Restores a moderate amount of health - Devil Way Mushroom - Restores a small amount of Ki/Ninpo Being a Ninja Gaiden fan, I wished that Ryu had won, but I think it was a good fight and enjoyable to watch.
+Xtreme_Coder_2 Even if he is brought back to life. He still died once. And due to this being DEATH BATTLE. It would still count as a Strider Hiryu victory. Although you bring up good points
Dante Redgrave a mercenary?, his bio clearly says, he is part of elite-class member of a group of futuristic, high-tech ninja-derived agents known as the Striders they perform plans in the shadows to influence world events, not for cash
If you watch closely, helped by slowing the video down, Ryu is actually in between the lengths of bullet fire. He is dodging slower missiles that come in between, not the bullets.
+TheGreatSalad not to mention that Hiryu is just a human and can be killed by natural/conventional means, where Ryu is pretty much built like a tank and can take hits
+Cody Hines not persicely...if you've played Ninja Gaiden, mostly the ones on xbox/ps3, he has dealt with far more deadlier enemies than Hiryu has plus his durability feats are pretty impressive.
1.Ruby Rose(Rwby) Vs Maka(Soul Eater) 2.Rayne(Bloodrayne) vs Selene(Underworld) 3.Azula(Avatar) vs Cinder(Rwby) 4.Sephiroth(FinalFantasy) vs Madara(Naruto) But the best would be 5.Naruto(Naruto) vs Ichigo(Bleach)
KingKenta cuts through people like butter with his hands, can dodge personalized anti aircraft rounds and has more experience, 2000 years old, remember
Isn't Alucard literally immortal by the end of the series though? Or do you mean him before he assimilates schrodinger? Still, I like your thinking having said that I haven't played Devil may cry so I know zero about Dante
I dunno, haven't finished hellsing yet, but Dante has taken broadswords through the chest and the like, plus he has devil trigger, which could help against alucards more released forms
Flame Craft The time stopping, Black hole throwing, plasma sword also wielding, self healing, God constant slaying Ninja disagrees with you. yes Strider beat God... of his verse. Ryu kills them in his verse all the time.
Flame Craft Because they failed to actually depict either of the characters as they really are. They clearly also did not do all the research. They made mistakes even on Vegeta vs Shadow, Superman vs Goku, so on. It is how they went about their argument. They are not saying for a fact one wins. They are saying that based on their numbers. Theirs they believe X beats Y.
Because, Capcom has flanderized him to the point he is OP'd? Stop trying to defend something from a battle. There are far better characters who can defeat him. He is not godly or powerful. By the way. Watch the Mewtwo vs Vegtea battle.
I'm just curious why they didnt allow ryu to use his healing items. He has elixirs, that talisman of rebirth, and the tranquility bracelet. All in ninja garden black. I'm not complaining that ryu did not win. Even tho I was rooting for him lol. I just felt that the fight could have gone a little longer with more items being used up to see both of these ninjas full arsenal. This fight was so cool and epic i wish it was longer. and I know these ninja would have used everything at their disposal to win. Endurance was not the issue for either. It was item management and who has better gear to out-ninja the other.
He really could've still won. They cheated and were biased because of the fanboys of strider. Hayabusa did have alot of items and his ninpo techniques too
Whats worse is when other people who liked that character come to the comment section to bitch. Im not implying anything, and I like ryu and strider, but it doesn't matter what video it is, I cant stand hearing other people whine because their favorite lost. again, not implying anything
I like the fact that they said he can Teleport, but than, never make him teleport..... Also, Ryu slayed the freaking Devil, a thing that Spawn ever had trouble doing. And do you think Spawn would really lose against Strider? I don't think so.
+ForeverAlonne Death Battle always gets these kinds of things wrong. In the original Ninja Gaiden Ryu was stopping time with ninja art. Their credibility has been steadily going down.
Dudes/ladies I'm in my kitchen cooking while drunk. Decided to look at this match up and I realized, I watched this 8 YEARS AGO! 8 YEARS! What the hell?! I love what Death Battle does. Thanks for making my long @ss day better! Keep up the good work!
There was alot of facts you didnt cover.. Ryu can dodge lightning that means he can move quicker than 224,000 mph When an average for a bullet is 1,700 mph Please tell that logic is faulted. there is no way that strider could deal with someone going at that speed. ryu has also dodged personal made ammunition and in at some point he could slow time, so for a summary Ryu is able to move at lightning fast speeds, leaving after images of himself when taking out enemies in a blink of an eye. His reflexes are faster than bullet time, allowing him to block bullets from multiple automatic assault rifles shooting at him from all directions. Ryu is also able to successfully dodge and even outrun Surface-to-Air Missiles (which fly at Mach 3-6), and even react to seemingly instantaneous things, such as enemies' teleportation, or the Blinks of his foes. Ryu is even able to outrun the likes of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, as well as multiple missiles being dropped on him and the ensuing explosions(Explosions usually travel near the local speed of sound). He was able to dodge and react to ranged lightning attacks from Alexei. Ryu was capable of reacting to quantum interactions that appear at the speed of light in the simulator VR create by Lovelace, as well as seemingly teleport while in combat. Ryu has above average strength, able to lift huge weapons with ease, as well as cutting through thick tank steel and jets in half with his legendary Dragon Sword. He is also able to wield hefty weapons, with only slight difficulties of struggling to keep balance during long swings. For short movements, Ryu is able to move a 100 lbs sword fast enough to block bullets shooting at him from all sides with multiple automatic assault rifles. In addition, Ryu is also able to break out of the likes of a T-Rex's foot from crushing him, the jaws of powerful beasts and demons, and the grips of his enemies, as well as slam an opponent hard enough to shatter their skull. Ryu can block powerful strikes from a "goddess" who has supernatural strength and powerful enough to destroy and cut through skyscrapers, as well as having enough strength to give a kick powerful enough to hurt or even behead an enemy in one blow. So if you see ryu can also dismember a combatant aswell "like butter". Regeneration: Being more in tune with his spiritual side, Ryu has developed a higher than usual spiritual life force or health. By manipulating this spiritual life, Ryu is able to regenerate from wounds that would otherwise be fatal, such as a slice through the jugular or a stab through a vital organ like the heart. Ryu also has a higher durability and endurance than the average human; this endurance is increased further with the Life of the Gods. Once his spiritual health is depleted he would be unable to heal from wounds. However, spiritual health can be replenished with the aid of elixirs, herbs, blue essence, Dragon Statues and even his spiritual animal, the Falcon. The full extent of this ability is unknown, but in the most extreme case Ryu has managed to hold his body together and come back to life after being dismembered from shoulder to hip by Doku via the Dark Dragon Blade early on during the Dark Dragon Blade Incident. Ryu could also regenerate his spiritual life and maximum Ninpo if health reaches zero. This isnt looking good for strider. His durability is at a superhuman level. Ryu's endurance augmented with his unique regeneration ability allows Ryu to survive many hazards such as a barrage of bullets, fatal stabbings, rockets & explosives, and being submerged in pools of acid & molten lava. Ryu is also able to withstand magical fireballs, razor sharp winds, demonic beams and flying blunt objects like large telekinetically thrown pillars. Ryu's endurance can increased further with the Life of the Gods. Ryu is highly resistant to extremely deadly toxins, such as the Devil Way Mushrooms, which contain highly toxic poisons, although Ryu consumes them rather easily. Ryu also possesses a high resistance to intoxicants and drugs, as it took enough tranquilizer to bring down a scientifically enhanced Gigantosaurus to knock Ryu out momentarily. Ryu perhaps has an immunity to time manipulation. Suggested by the NES games, in which the Time Stop ability does not freeze Ryu. He can survive explosions at close range and being chewed by dragons. Ryu also managed to survive an explosion large enough to cover the diameter of Mount Fuji which is about 20-30 miles long without any scratch. Can take a lot of damage against a Supreme deity. Ryu would be able to resist deformation of the reality of the Vigoor Emperor. Ryu can also be crushed and milled in the hands of big demons and be violently thrown to the ground. Ryu could survive having a chainsaw revved up in his innards by a Spriggan, only to knock it away and resume battle. He can survive being violently stabbed by enemies that pin him down, resuming battle as if he were fine. Ryu survived the curse of Doku retaining his humanity and rejecting the powers of the Fiends. this is the problem you're overlooked alot of his skills and attributes and to be honest there is no way strider would of standed a chance. he know 30 different fighting techniques and 13 base ninpo You see he has a fighting style to counter everything strider has. He actaully masters atleast 18 weapons. and 10 ranged weapon variatons. i dare you to fault any of this please.
Alex Ws I was about to object (dodging lightning and reacting to teleporting foes is about prediction, not speed) until I saw this line: "outrun Surface-to-Air Missiles (which fly at Mach 3-6)" Got a source on that one? Might be enough to overrule the Screwattack conclusion
***** And obviously that statement is slated, due the the facts i also have read both manga's and read up on both ninja's in huge detail and the winner here is still not determined as i said ryu is almost ten times quicker then strider, strider dosent have any instantaneous equipment if screw attacked acknowlged his true speed strider wouldent of been able to lay a finger on him but even still i do agree strider is physically stronger ryu has a counter measure to everyone of his techniques. all im saying is they didnt look at ryu correctly and combatants correctly i just think nearly everything they exclaimed in strider's ability's is quite funny because ryu can match it. personally i dont know who would win or even if there would be a victor. but they overlook many things and we wont know who is actaully the the victor is
I literally stated facts, he is quicker thats not up for debate its 100% true and i never once mentioned him being smarter, hiryu is a A class strider, and ryu is just over 10x faster thats a fact therefore making the outcome possibly differant.
***** We also no nothing on there intellegence becasue theres no amount to determine who's smarter. there is also them saying strider is stronger because of him being able to chop through people with his hand, ryu can round house kick people's head clean off. all im saying is there more than meets the eye
When fighting an entire army singlehandedly, stealth is practically impossible, but against other ninja? It's literally against ninja code to not at least try stealth first.
I wonder if the reason Boomstick hates birds so much is because he's afraid of them or jelous of their powers of flight and licence to peck people's eyeballs out with impunity?
For me *Ryu Hayabusa* should've won. Like serioulsy tho he killed Gods, Demons, Fiends and he has a great experience of being a ninja. He's a true Shinobi.
He fights all of his battles directly. At least Naruto sometimes uses Shadow Clones and Transformation to be sneaky. And Strider has fought off gods before.
Yea i noticed. I think death battle does kinda opinionate thier battles cuz they have a zelda vs peach and peach won which is stupid. And zelda never went shiek
I honestly didn't expect Strider to win because he didn't seem as serious(I've only known him on MvC, so I didn't know much about him). The background made me realize he was more serious than I thought.
"Highly advanced ammunition designed to track supersonic targets like striders" THIS STATEMENT HERE is why Strider is meant to win. THESE WERE ROUNDS DESIGNED TO KILL STRIDERS AND HIRYU CAN DODGE FIRE FROM 3 PEOPLE. But everyone focuses on "Anti-aircraft rounds for people" and intentionally trying to downplay this feat in favor for Ryu.
Super sonic is still not as fast as point blank lightning. That feat was taken from a comic book, yet they disregard the several times Ryu has dodged point blank lightning attacks, also from comics. Speed of light > super sonic. Thus Ryu is not just slightly faster than Strider, but massively faster than Strider.
How could Ryu have won?All is weapons couldn't beat the cypher and compared to Strider he's a slowpoke. And plus Hiryu has slain the magical creator of the world twice.
Heavy Tank 95 It seemed very one sided. I don't know... I like them both and have played the games. Ryu seemed more fast and agile. This was more of a fan service.
ummm just saying that you played the games and ryu "seems" faster and then just writing it off as fan service is not a good argument. atleast give a good reason why ryu should have won.
Doomsday is partially krypton isn't like superman, plus he revives himself immune to the last thing that killed him. But he is immune to kryptonite, ultimately out matching the hulk, since doomsday is the only villain who ever killed superman while not using kryptonite.
This was a completely one sided battle. Already from the descriptions you can tell that Strider would win. I mean really? Cutting thru people with his bare hands and dodging bullets specially made to take out people with super speed. Ryu had no chance. This was a completely unfair death battle.
I did, but that wasn't COMPLETELY one sided, Goku atleast had a small fighting chance. Here they just dragged Ryu's death out for 3 minutes. That scythe that was so "amazingly powerful, and quenched in the blood of living human beings", we saw that for half a second before Hiryu split it into 3. Ryu hardly laid a hit on his opponent. Where as Goku actually withstood Superman for a good while.
They didn't use half the weapons in Ryu's arsenal. He can create TWO shadow clones at once, they can in turn mimic any attack distance or sword attack instantaneously. He had the ability to use his own energy to EXTEND the power of his blade to twice the distance and vertical thrust. Lastly, the most lethal attack in his arsenal, the JUMP AND SLASH technique gives constant damage by slicing through opponents. It turns him into a human saw blade which deals out damage as long as he is in the air and in contact with his opponent. I really don't think they gave Ryu a fighting chance.
It doesn't really matter how many weapons they give him. Flachion surpasses most of Ryu's Arsenal. And the Jump Slash(While saving my bacon in the games often) probably isn't useful against someone who is at Ryu's speed or beyond it. And that speed also stops Ryu from using his longer ranged weapons effectively as well.
In the game, if you used jump and slash, you could pretty much kill anything almost instantaneously if you got enough air. Strider has NEVER had an ability that powerful in any of his games. EVER. The fact that they used Strider's range as an advantage in giving him the win makes Ryu's range relevant.
I don't recall them saying that Strider could out range Ryu. I assumed that due to Strider's gear and speed Ryu's ranged weapons would not be as effective. And I do recall the move, it kills grunts and smaller demons easy, not larger enemies or foes on par with Ryu.
"He can create TWO shadow clones at once, they can in turn mimic any attack distance or sword attack instantaneously." So can Hiryu. (arcade) "He had the ability to use his own energy to EXTEND the power of his blade to twice the distance and vertical thrust" So can Hiryu. (Strider 2014) "Lastly, the most lethal attack in his arsenal, the JUMP AND SLASH technique gives constant damage by slicing through opponents." So can Hiryu. (arcade) Only difference here though is that 'you' do the constant slashing for the constant damage. Depending on the enemy this can be as little as one slash, but you can easily slash many times in a single jump to the point that there is no gap in between slashes like a saw. Hiryu can also change the direction of these slashes at any time and doesn't even need to jump to do it.
They didn't research enough about the weapons unless there wasn't much information about it because the only argument that's been made is that strider has a blade that can shatter the weapons
I'm not mad that Ryu lost, but why was Strider able to use med kits while Ryu didn't have any spiritual elixirs or devil elixirs or talismans of rebirth...you know, items that he always finds and carries?
That is such bullshit. Ryu could win no problem. If his sword is as powerfull as the say it is, he would win by a land slide. Not to mention he never used the dragon eye that gives him power in the first place.
casey martin nah these guys are strider fangirls. I've noticed people who put ryu in fight situations/scenarios never actually give all the facts about him. Anyone who's actually beat all gaidens knows ryu would've handled this strider guy.first fail is they matched up ryu's strength with him with no reason why. this guys sword can cut through anything I'll give him that. but they need to define super sonic as ryu has fought a greater fiend(god basically) who travels at the speed of lightning.
comicking428 That's what this video is for they gave me all his info, but fell short of telling us how strong he actually is. Ryu has a list of things they decided to ignore to give this dude the upper hand. Ryu fights gods on the fly, can drop from damn there space, and pretty much tank mountain size blows. people don't know him, likely to his games being more than challenging. There is a reason ninja gaiden earns the nickname "Game known to make grown men cry" Ryu is no joke, but again nobody really knows him.
DevilBringerDeath All the researchers did their own individual research on both characters. There is no conspiracy against Ryu. If they couldn't find the information you think would hand Ryu the victory, blame the majority of researchers.
Ryu: throws literally everything he has at hiryu
hiryu: ha ha sword go swing swing
Ryu: has an insanely versatile and unique arsenal, along with a legendary dragon sword
Hiryu: ha ha cypher go ching
This might be controversial, but that's basically Ben 10 vs Green Lantern. A million things to throw at someone and only one is capable of giving them a chance, and then outclassed anyway.
yeah no , no ryu did not throw everything he had cause deathbattle apparently couldnt be bothered to give ryu his best gear

@@sammy-1992 Did he say the ending doesn't need to change? I feel you just didn't get the joke at all.
ryu's feats didn't change much since back then until now,
but i think analyse can be much more interesting, (i mean, this videa calculated their speed very badly, since both can be killed by single slash, it is important to calculate which one is fastest, and honestly, i think it is ryu, they down played his teleportation abilities, even kasumi by teleportation can almost bypass people,By running can gather enough kenetic energy on her fists to unleash on her foes, create countless after images, ryu also is also close to that speed and strider can't teleport SO...)
@@baziworld They didn't even mention him being able to create black holes until his DBX with Naruto, so who knows maybe the outcome could change much.

Probably didn't want to make Ryu look bad because Strider has two of them instead of one.

Are we just gonna simply ignore the fact the Strider Hiryu relies on Technology to be a Ninja and as well as the fact that Ryu has more physical feats than him? Like fighting for days while having a cursed arm that was devouring his body and beating a goddess?
I agree that Strider gear* won that fight. Ryu just had to aim at the right spots.
NINjA'Z GAMING Hiryu isn't an Ninja..he's an assassin
The striders creates assassin's lol plus it's in the future so...
he doesn't rely on his technology , he needs the physical feats to reach Special-A in itself , the gadgets are actually a benefit for reaching that level.
strider literally went to and outclassed everyone at ninja school lol. dont discredit him theyre both great ninja but hes just faster and his kit hold up better. in the literal sense weapons are technology and ryu uses a lot of them too

Here are all the tools ryu has that they decided not to include for some reason:
-Smoke bombs that make it difficult for enemies to guard
-Windpath to stun enemies
-Windblades, Piercing void ninpo, or any kind of ninpo with extended invulnarability
-Talismans of god that can revive ryu and replenish ninpo gauge, he can carry 2 at any time in the highest difficulty
- Unlaboured Flawlessness, which at low health could kill most things in one shot.
- Ultimate techniques, notable ones being gleaming blade, windmill shuriken and scythe
- Incendiary shurikens that cause long hitstun and explode.
- Counter attacks that work on ANY attaack
- Cicada surge which works as a counter attack at any point, even if ryu seems vulnarible.
- Explosive arrows
- Blade of the archfiend, and the dark dragon blade, which are the most powerful weapons ryu has.
Ryu got severely shafted in this death battle and his abilities weren't very well shown, nor the playstyle of his games. I have to say this wasn't very good.
wddark dragon blade got destroyed at the end of the first game still you got the point
Wasn’t true dragon blade stronger?
@@itssquark Blade of the achfiend is actually the name of the dual swords in ng2 where ryu wields both the true dragon sword and the blade of the arch fiend. But if you are talking about comparing the individual blades, then yeah, the true dragon sword is stronger as seen in the final boss of ng3re.
What about the Time Stop item?
This was early Death Battle, the research was very barebones back then
1st explanation, "Strider can cut peoples heads off with his bear hands." Ok.
I'm going off of the video, I forgot to mention that I don't know the basis of either character.
don't worry,if they make a game where ryu kills gods, becomes immortal, etc, then he'd probably win this fight....
10 years later and im still mad they made hayabusa lose
This
This?
This would've been more fair if it was Shinobi vs Ryu
I agree, Strider is on his own level...
yea but the allowed hiryu to use all his powers while they limited ryu powers.. ie the true dragon sword with the dragon eye, the summoning of the fire dragon and hey didnt mention that ryu cursed arm
+Bob Singh Your point? That's also not Hiryu's full Arsenal either...
Even if hayabusa did get all his equipment he'd still lose.
+KIDD & Co. Law Offices You don't know.
Is Joe on Ryu's level?
Even though I was rooting for Hayabusa, this is my favourite Death Battle. The animated fight was executed perfectly.

danielcwc people will always cry because their character die (ninja gaiden fan here but a think ryu can't win)
danielcwc Yea, I wasnt sure about the outcome when I first watched it but after reading the manga and playing some of the games realized people mayve been letting their bias be the judge of who should've won.
Put ryu back in death battle but instead make him fight wolf from Sekiro Shadows Die Twice ;D
Avenged Decay knowing them they would greatly depower him again and give wolf the victory.
It would hilarious to see wolf to do *death* .
Edit
Also confetti allows him to hit astral beings this could mean sekiro could not just attack him physically but also spirit damage ryu.

"Ryu is stronger, faster, and more durable than Strider by a wide margin."
It all depends on how all these things are measured.
"Strider can side-step anti-aircraft fire, but Ryu can casually dodge
hypersonic surface to air missiles from near point blank while falling, at terminal velocity."
Ryu was able to do that because he had lots of room (the sky) to anticipate them and react as he was falling from a large distance towards them. They were also large and comparatively easy to spot. Strider however dodged three of the weapons he did while all being fired at him at once from multiple trajectories while being trapped in a room with very little room to maneuver in. This would seem to be more difficult.
"Durability? Strider has no real durability feats to speak of at all."
Except for being on the Flying Battleship Balrog when it detonated completely in midair with Strider just falling from the sky without so much as a scratch
Easily anticipating where lighting will strike because Ryu's (your) enemy telegraphs his attacks so well is not an example of dodging lightning.
SenjiroAkechi Thank you, someone gets it
SenjiroAkechi I love when dumb people like you try to find that out hey Ryu never destroyed a god that created everything but strider did
Strider had much more defence and power than Ryu, while on the other hand, Ryu had more speed and attack which also let his guard down.
True dat
Close Fight, clearly Ryu did a lot of damage seeing as Strider needs to use a med kit and Strider also did well with stopping most of Ryu's weapons besides the Dragon Sword. One killed God and the other killed the Devil....GREAT BATTLE
fuck yeah !!! :D
You are right, one of the best death battles… I guess that's what happens when two deadly ninjas face each other.
Ryu did kill god in ng3.
Gotta love the fact that Ryu didn't get to use his fire dragon totally accurate ಠ◡ಠ
Not even close. Ryu easily wins this fight.
It's been 6 years since I saw this fight. Today, I got the honor to watch them battle once again in the year 2019. Arigato DEATH BATTLE *Bowing my head*

Altair vs The Prince of Persia
HA! Suck it Ryu Hayabusa
Strider has and will continue to dominate the Ninja Title
too bad he's not as popular lol jk, they're both awesome ninjas
Let me correct that. Would you think Strider, Hotsuma, Hibana, Raiden, Grey Fox, & many other powerful ninjas( except naruto ) would make great allies to Ryu should he ever need it? Plus imagine if the Shinobi/Nightshade games had a reboot with better graphics & gameplay.
Ryu Hayabusa JoJo I think you never playing Ninja Gaiden ... Ryu fuck Strider ^^
I said to JoJo
This I can agree with.
Looks like ryu took his last stride...
Damn
Get out
How do you sleep at night
Tj Kircher very good how about you
Ha nice
I do not think Ryu from Ninja Gaiden 3 would have lost. I was able to dodge bullets, missiles and other ninjas at the same time. As well as directly block physical attacks from giant Deity level foes with his pure strength.
J Kurayami I mean, Strider has 2000 years of experience. Can't beat that.
J Kurayami then that would be the actuall player instead of the charcater itself
RyanWatch MoreGaming
True, but if you tell him to do it, he does, with ease.If I told you to jump into the air from a standstill to do a half gainer, dodge a missile and land and cut a person in half, could you do it?
+J Kurayami
Yes.
Mr. Note lol well played. I was waiting for someone to say yes.
Ohh and you also forgot about the part where ryu can STOP FUCKING TIME and CREATE A FUCKING BLACK HOLE
"ryu can create a black hole" which is completely useless to someone faster than him.
I don't think u know anything about blackholes
Desmond Moore did you even played ninja gaiden 2?
Desmond Moore the less used ninja gaiden ninpo XD
Overlord Mao If you played Ninja Gaiden 2 you'd know that he has dodged lightning making his reaction speed at atleast mach 300
Anyone watching in 2020
Also did they just put these guys in a death battle because their ninjas or is it because they both have Ryu in their names?
Probably both
Most likely both
No idea but i love the music
Yes
Probably BOTH lol
Strider was given his full arsenal but they didn't use the full extent of Ryu's abilities. What else could I expect from Death Battle...?
No he wasn't. None of his weapons from the reboot was given.
Which reboot? The one you're able to play on PS3/PS4? If so then I suppose it'd be much more accurate to say that Strider was given a significantly higher percentage of his arsenal whereas Ryu was not even given half.
I'm pretty sure Ryu has better stats, but Link has better equipment.
Well yeah. Most of Link's of equipment are kinda weak.
Death battle just throws out wins too favorites that's it doesn't matter the amount of skill or potential the characters truly posses.
If you want to know what happens to the real fight then start here 9:15
did you not see strider slice ryu before he even touched him so he would of been dead come on now.
Jace Mira they got Hayabusa's speed wrong... Hiryu is super sonic speed. but Hayabusa as someone who has played the games knows (without instantaneous teleports which Hayabusa spams at a whim in the game) moves at hyper sonic speeds because he is able to dodge hyper sonic bullets and intercontinental ballistic missiles that are also hyper sonic speed. also Hayabusa's sword is indestructible as it was created by the dragon god... if we refer to DB's link vs cloud vid they said the Hyrule shield couldn't be broken on the bases of it was made by a god. no limits fallacy I know but if we use that rule then Hayabusa's sword not only can't be broken but he wouldn't be able to be killed as something they left out in the video.... >.> Ryu Hayabusa IS the dragon god. in the forums Ben said that the determining factor between the battle was that Strider sliced a guy in half with his hand... if that's the case Hayabusa STILL would have won as he used telekinesis in the first game to slice a boulder into pieces with his mind. there were FAR too many feats, facts and abilities not even mentioned on Hayabusa's part. also they forgot that Hayabusa has the ability to resurrect himself without the use of items... this was something that happened in the canon of the story in the first game.
aristokraticassassin
I really can't argue with you with Ryu since i have not played any solid game with him (except warriors orochi which he was only a side character).
So, that was best finishing move I've ever seen. Kudos to you animators, that was kickass.
I hope screwattack never ends cause I love screwattack deathbattle
Balrog vs TJ Combo
You got your wish pal

Bring back this Ryu to fight Genji from Overwatch!
me
Or Shinobi :D
What about Raiden (Metal Gear Solid/Rising) versus Genji (Overwatch)?
Zachary Brien Not bad, although it's kinda obvious Raiden would win.
No Genji has to fight Zer0(Borderlands)
Ryu is cooler!
But Does His Sword Make An Incredibly-Satisfying CHING Sound? 🤔
If you actually played all three Ninja Gaiden games you know for sure that ryu would not lose to him simply based on how strong his dragon blood is…ryu has fought all kinds of demons went to hell and came back.
Ryu will always the best ninja in my book
This isn't the only death battle video where the the strongest moves are completely underestimated. Hiryu's head would have exploded as soon as Ryu successfully Izuna dropped him on his head.
great fight I'm a strider fan but I think they should have used a different sprite for ryu it looks like strider hiryu vs a normal ninja
should've made this fight in 3D
True but if they did it they probably wouldn't be as fast
Ur only saying that because u don't have one
+GBD Games
Ryu destroys Hiryu
+Smoke Only in his wet dreams.
Lol no Strider Hiryu would never win against Ryu Hayabusa.
Y didn't ryu turn into a dragon
Ikr.... Completely missed out his abilities he can do. And just based it off on some stupid popularity instead.
@@koreancowboy42 The "popularity contest" argument is so stupid, I somehow thought I'd never see it again. Honestly, they most likely didn't show the dragon in the animation because they didn't have a sprite for it
Agreed, they seriously nerfed Ryu
I don't see how turning into a fire dragon would help Ryu.
@@koreancowboy42 in the past, but now, it still kind of biased.
Still my favorite fight to date. The ending is just perfect for a ninja fight like this.
Hayabusa should have won
Why should he have won?
+echelon2k8 wiz and boom barely used Ryus powers
aadb
Same with Strider. I guess they just used the ones they thought the characters would find to be most effective against their opponent. They already showed that many of Ryu's weapons were useless against Strider, for example.
+echelon2k8 fair play
Strider is simply stronger, faster, and much more experienced. It's very clear why he won
Ryu can survive being stabbed through the chest.
And he did, until Strider Ragnara’d him
obviously the spider clan be like "wow, so we can stab him in the chest and he'll just take damage not die?, but then this guy literally just punched him and he died??????????????? wtf!!! totally unrealistic 0/10 would not watch again."
Ryu survives death
The background music during the fight, so much stress during that boss battle. Ryu may not have won the fight, but his games are far better
The old or new Ninja Gaiden you're saying? The newest sucks

Hey I was just wondering one thing if Strider can use his inventory why cant ryu? Like the talisman of rebirth. I'm not crying or mad i'm just asking a question.
It was more or less a joke. If you noticed there wasn't much of a reason for strider to use his medkit.
He still used it :P
abbrown38
just to shut up the fans about his tech. otherwise Ryu wouldnt regenerate his life. notice they didnt include Striders tech about Earthtremors and the fire tech they use for a blast he never had?
Yea lol it was just a joke so chill.
What do you mean? Do you mean mine or zhao's?
+Mandrake 5
There's no such thing as a single ultimate technique that will work the same on every foe. He would know he had no ultimate technique that would
work on a Strider.
Mandrake 5
Well, Ryu wouldn't have the time to summon anything effective so it essentially would make any ultimate technique pointless, and he probably would have known that here.
Mandrake 5
Perhaps summon isn't the best word to describe what Ryu does when he concentrates for a period of time to perform certain ninpo techniques, but that's still time he really doesn't have against a Strider, scratch that, the best Strider ever.
6 years later to the day and this is still one of the best DEATH BATTLE! matches ever.
***** its still as powerfull as the normal dragon sword, it will change nothing.
All that and he still gets rekd by birds
deadstrider
What birds do you speak of?
I think you guys should mention that Ryu could use the "Talisman Of Rebirth" which allows him to be brought back to life if he should ever die.
He also have health and ki/ninpo items like:
- Herb Of Spiritual Life - Restores a small amount of health
- Grains Of Spiritual Life - Restores a moderate amount of health
- Devil Way Mushroom - Restores a small amount of Ki/Ninpo
Being a Ninja Gaiden fan, I wished that Ryu had won, but I think it was a good fight and enjoyable to watch.
+Xtreme_Coder_2 Even if he is brought back to life. He still died once. And due to this being DEATH BATTLE. It would still count as a Strider Hiryu victory. Although you bring up good points

“Ryu can deflect gun fire, strider can dodge anti air gun bullets.”
2:46 shows ryu dodging anti air gun bullets :/
If you watch closely, helped by slowing the video down, Ryu is actually in between the lengths of bullet fire. He is dodging slower missiles that come in between, not the bullets.
As I watched the characters being explained, I came to the saddening conclusion that ryu was going to get absolutely obliterated.
Thanks for your thought, Hank. God bless Ladybird.
Nova StrykerHD also funny how they brought up ryu's divine sword and dragon technique but dident let him use them
+TheGreatSalad not to mention that Hiryu is just a human and can be killed by natural/conventional means, where Ryu is pretty much built like a tank and can take hits

Flame Craft
Because they failed to actually depict either of the characters as they really are. They clearly also did not do all the research. They made mistakes even on Vegeta vs Shadow, Superman vs Goku, so on. It is how they went about their argument. They are not saying for a fact one wins. They are saying that based on their numbers. There was alot of facts you didnt cover..
Ryu can dodge lightning that means he can move quicker than 224,000 mph
When an average for a bullet is 1,700 mph Please tell that logic is faulted. there is no way that strider could deal with someone going at that speed.
ryu has also dodged personal made ammunition and in at some point he could slow time, so for a summary
Ryu is able to move at lightning fast speeds, leaving after images of himself when taking out enemies in a blink of an eye.

Alex Ws I was about to object (dodging lightning and reacting to teleporting foes is about prediction, not speed) until I saw this line:
"outrun Surface-to-Air Missiles (which fly at Mach 3-6)"
Got a source on that one? Might be enough to overrule the Screwattack conclusion
I found it on "NinjaGuide.wiki" the information is most likely true since they dedicated a webpage to it =3
***** And obviously that statement is slated, due the the facts i also have read both manga's and read up on both ninja's in huge detail and the winner here is still not determined as i said ryu is almost ten times quicker then strider, strider dosent have any instantaneous equipment if screw attacked acknowlged his true speed strider wouldent of been able to lay a finger on him but even still i do agree strider is physically stronger ryu has a counter measure to everyone of his techniques.
all im saying is they didnt look at ryu correctly and combatants correctly i just think nearly everything they exclaimed in strider's ability's is quite funny because ryu can match it. personally i dont know who would win or even if there would be a victor. but they overlook many things and we wont know who is actaully the the victor is
I literally stated facts, he is quicker thats not up for debate its 100% true and i never once mentioned him being smarter, hiryu is a A class strider, and ryu is just over 10x faster
thats a fact therefore making the outcome possibly differant.
***** We also no nothing on there intellegence becasue theres no amount to determine who's smarter. there is also them saying strider is stronger because of him being able to chop through people with his hand, ryu can round house kick people's head clean off. all im saying is there more than meets the eye
WTF? They forgot stealth in a battle of ninjas!
I am disappoint.
yea..if only they said TWICE that BOTH characters choose not to use stealth and would rather hack n slash.
When fighting an entire army singlehandedly, stealth is practically impossible, but against other ninja? It's literally against ninja code to not at least try stealth first.
If you played both their games they NEVER use stealth. They are the exact opposite of true ninja.
For stealth vs stealth ninja match they should do Rikimaru vs Corvo.... even though Corvo is not actually a ninja, but an assassin.
The O Taco
"don't" isn't "can't"
I wonder if the reason Boomstick hates birds so much is because he's afraid of them or jelous of their powers of flight and licence to peck people's eyeballs out with impunity?
Birds are just what remained of the flying dinos.
@@justinalicea1590 which ones?
@@angellara7040 Like the one in control of his planet that he took down twice.
@@justinalicea1590 you mean the alien?
@@angellara7040 Who took over the planet with magical godly power, yes.
does anybody notice ryu didn't summon his fire dragon
But the only reason yaiba was able to stop it was because Monday calibrated his arm to match the dragons energy frequency
Summons are not allowed in death battle
Yea i noticed. I think death battle does kinda opinionate thier battles cuz they have a zelda vs peach and peach won which is stupid. And zelda never went shiek
GamerNerd not a summon, just a ninpo technique
He probably realized if he tried to use that technique it would have left him wide open
I honestly didn't expect Strider to win because he didn't seem as serious(I've only known him on MvC, so I didn't know much about him). The background made me realize he was more serious than I thought.
I can't believe this hasn't been requested yet!
Sephiroth(FF7) vs Vergil(DMC3,NOT REBOOT)
YES.
Oh it's been requested...
"Highly advanced ammunition designed to track supersonic targets like striders"
THIS STATEMENT HERE is why Strider is meant to win.
Ryu should've won.
RYu would mop the floor with hiyru
@@teresagreen2401 Ninja Gaiden wasn't given his full arsenal like Shinobi was in this video.
Hulk vs Doomsday
SCREW ATTACK NEEDS TO FUCKING DO THIS
Doomsday is partially krypton isn't like superman, plus he revives himself immune to the last thing that killed him.
You think this is bad? Watch Goku vs Superman.
Also Strider Hiryu is 2000 years older that Ryu with more experience and training.
THANKYOU Uncle Benny
You wanna see one sided though? Look for Shao Kahn vs M. Bison. [SPOILER] Bison's death was pathetic.
Still one of the best death battles, no controversy, just a great episode
arthur (ghost and goblins) VS simon belmont or richter belmont (castlevania)
THIS
FUCKIN THIS!
best suggestion i've seen...
thanx i really hope they see my comment these guys they must do this death battle it would be awsome. serious this must happen
(arcade)
"He had the ability to use his own energy to EXTEND the power of his blade to twice the distance and vertical thrust" So can Hiryu. (Strider 2014)
"Lastly, the most lethal attack in his arsenal, the JUMP AND SLASH technique gives constant damage by slicing through opponents." So can Hiryu.
Dawefi abihbho.
Sora from kingdom hearts vs death the kid from soul eater
I think that'd be cool, but it would be more awesome for Riku to fight Death the Kid. It'd make more sense, I think.
why does Ryu have his original trash design instead of his badass outfit in the kind of not really newer games
I would just like to know how they determined how Ryu's weapons were useless.
He Clearly Healed With That Blue Firey Spell You Moron.
Aidan Kelleher Or it could have been a powering up process for a Torn Sky Blast moron.
That is such bullshit. Ryu could win no problem. If his sword is as powerfull as the say it is, he would win by a land slide. Not to mention he never used the dragon eye that gives him power in the first place.
strider would have still won easily no doubt
casey martin nah these guys are strider fangirls.
DevilBringerDeath
Just hearing the term "this strider guy" tells me you don't know too much about him.
comicking428 That's what this video is for they gave me all his info, but fell short of telling us how strong he actually is.
DevilBringerDeath
All the researchers did their own individual research on both characters. There is no conspiracy against Ryu. If they couldn't find the information you think would hand Ryu the victory, blame the majority of researchers.
7:48 After many years I finally now know the origin of that scream.....it came from "THEM!!"
