Hahahaha! My dearest Pete! Wat 'n verrassing om te sien dat jy NIE Afrikaans vergeet het nie! Onse Mimi was die beste ja, maar ek en jy se Beverly was nog BETER!
Ah onse Mimi! What an incredible instrument she had, but so spoiled by that infernal SCOOP! And it became progressively more pronounced and worse! The tragedy for me is that is ALL I can hear and so it is not a pleasure listening to her!
@@johandiedericks8437 I guess I do, but I have to say the early recordings I have of hers where the scoop had not yet developed are fantastic and if I knew how to upload them from CD to TH-cam I'd do so! I also performed with her in two productions, the Merry Widow and Norma and she was my intro to the then CAPAB back in the seventies.
I saw and heard her many years ago in Johannesburg. She was certainly world class.
Just brilliant it is all about the interpertAtiont of the aria and voice production who cares about her tantrums
Absolutely stunning :)
Proudly South African of course!!!
