Yes you can prepare for vlsi profile and will get opportunities to sit in most of the college but before freezing any colleges for admission then plz ask someone from that college about this question so that you can have clarity whether you will be eligible or not...
But most of the college and company like Intel, Qualcomm,micron,Texas, Samsung and many more allow electrical students

So if there is a problem or not in that for getting placements

Most of the companies m koi problem NH hota hai just you have to justify your gap in a well manner during interview session that what did u do during those year
