I doubt Sora will stay after this. She'll probably be graduating by the end of the year to reunite w/ A-chan. It's clear management didn't want to pay a-chan any further while she was on her extended vacation due to family reasons. So she left. She unfortunately didn't bring in residual income like Gura & Hachama when they went a year long hiatus, thus, they had no reason to keep her around on the balance sheet.

I don't know about JP, but in the US and EU it's pretty common for a business to rehire a former employee who left in good standing if they want to come back, provided there's space in the roster (and management isn't mad that they left regardless of their performance or company standing). At the rate they're growing, I don't expect it would be particularly difficult, if/when she's able to return (provided she wants to).

This is probably the end of an era... I have no idea how things are going at Hololive, but from what I've heard, it was A-chan who incited them to embark on this VTubers adventure with her friend Sora. Prior to her arrival, Hololive was a small software/technology company and had no intention of managing streamers. So, she was one of the founding pillars of the company as we know it today.
God speaks the truth again, I mean I have never worked at the same place as a friend or family and I still have both, so just cause A-chan is not in the office with them doesn't mean they aren't friends or spending time together, we will miss seeing her and hearing her give news and recaps (and for us kaigainikis watching her english improve massively) but we must believe she made the best choice for herself and greener pastures (maybe more chill ones) await her, who know we might even have her cheering on the talents from our side without even knowing
7 years is quite incredible and it goes without saying that Hololive wouldn’t be what it is today without A-Chan. Hell, Suisei would’ve graduated without her intervention and who knows what the company would be without her as she is THE Idol that’s almost the blueprint for the really successful members.
