🔴English❗️Divorce in Adventism

  • Welcome to our channel
Today we are going to deal with a topic very present in our everyday life
20, 30 years ago divorce was a rarity in society in general.
But today it is normal and already very common in our society.
The problem is that exactly the same phenomenon is happening in the church.
When divorce was a rarity in the world it was also a rarity in our church, and now that it has become almost normal in society the same unfortunately happens in the church.
What can we see from this? That the church is actually keeping pace with the world.
We cannot fail to see that the end of the world is coming soon. Satan is working on the minds of men and women, and many seem filled with a desire for fun and excitement. Just as in the days of Noah, every kind of evil is on the increase. Divorce and marriage are the order of the day. TCM 112.3

Forgiveness does not always equal reconciliation. Sometimes it is not safe. STDs, physical, and psychological abuse are realities we cannot ignore.

At this time in history marriage should only take place if a couple is more effective in ministry than alone in winning souls for Christ. If only 1/100 marriages are happy what's the rush! Let God do your match making!!

We must remember that God does forgive sin no matter how terrible other people believe. I can’t judge other people’s relationships nor should I. It’s between God and them. Abuse whether physical or emotional is horrible. I’ve been there. Best thing to do is walk away and don’t look back.

Prior to Desiderius Erasmus most believers understood that the marriage covenant only ended in death. His teaching guided the teaching of many of the reformers and is what the contemporary church believes today.

there are many things that the church does not understand or perhaps does not want to understand, only those who have the love of the truth will change, they seek from the heart to fulfill the word of the Lord Jesus Christ while others take it as a materialization of the law
the church should not allow marriages in which the partner is living, as if someone says marrying his partner is committing adultery, it seems that this is hard to understand

  • @melodyellysse4377

A wonderful Scriptural teaching. There is an implication however. that “ spiritual adultery”. (the act of lusting after one in one’s heart), can be determined by either spouse instead of solely by GOD, and used as grounds for divorce. And, in fact as grounds for divorce this is growing amongst the ranks of Professed Believers.

No matter what we should ask God's guidance. Never decide on our own. God will either allow the sinful spouse to leave and thus ending the marriage or the sinful spouse will repent. Remember that we are not here for ourselves. Christ came as a sacrifice for all. Trust God in all marriage relationships and obey what He guides you to do while you do all you can to save it. You will not be accountable, but the spouse who continues to sin and in time ends it will be. Unless that spouse repents.

Satan works through the elements also to garner his harvest of unprepared souls. He has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements as far as God allows. When he was suffered to afflict Job, how quickly flocks and herds, servants, houses, children, were swept away, one trouble succeeding another as in a moment. It is God that shields His creatures and hedges them in from the power of the destroyer. But the Christian world have shown contempt for the law of Jehovah; and the Lord will do just what He has declared that He would-He will withdraw His blessings from the earth and remove His protecting care from those who are rebelling against His law and teaching and forcing others to do the same.

We have to learn to avoid random posts and become more in synchronization with the spirit of truth. Under a topic of divorce, we should directly speak to the point, post supporting quotes, and/or ask questions or give clarification to those in need.
Just please avoid random side unrelated points.. there is no confusion in God or His future ARMY/Bride.

My life has been so much better since I divorced my 1st husband years ago who was an abusive drunk. I dont think God envisions his created beings remaining in a life threatening/abusive relationship for an entire lifetime where it damages the children who are constantly exposed to this nor does it help strengthen the victimized spouses relationship with God.
The only other thing a person can do if they feel better about divorce according to the bible is to stop having sex with the abuser thereby "forcing" them to look elsewhere for affection which will undoubtedly result in an affair.

      1Co 7:3-5 KJV
"Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency."
If the situation is not in harmony with God, and all available counsel and instructions have been exercised.. then feel free to separate from the evil as was presented in the video. But ONLY after following all light on the matter while remaining in unity with purity before God.

It is a hard case. I have heard of divorce being used in these cases. Of course an abusive husband is not example of how God loves the church, sadly it is not a reason for divorce but separation can be had.
If there correction needed, then I dint mind it. I really feel for those who are abused. With the inability biblically to divorce, it feels like a trap for life. 😭

  • @2good2bFALSE
    @2good2bFALSE 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

The question is asked: "Is divorce acceptable to God for abuses or witchcraft?"
The only Bibical reason for a divorce is for fornication, not adultery, as Jesus said in Matthew 5 & 19. (Example, Matthew 1)
Any other incompatibility is a call for prayer. If harm will come to him or her, they should move out with the only goal is to restore the offender to God. Though this may take years, or it may never happen, we need to strive for our spouse to repent and return to God.
We do not need to try to save the marriage, because a marriage is only as good as its weakest link. If they become a Christian, all other things will fall into place.
We have to remember two things. First, life is not fair. Second, sin can not fix sin.
We can not play games with God. Many try to get around this by not marrying but moving in together.
As the Bible says, marriage is for life. (until one dies)

I hold the belief that the very first person you have sex with ie become one flesh, in Gods eyes you are married to. But if we look at Christs teachings such as the woman accused of adultery who was supposed to be stoned and our Saviour said is he who is without don cast the first stone. The wonan at the well is also such a powerful example. So not matter whst mistakes were made in the past all sin can be forgiven. But that is no excuse to take divorce lightly as the wotld tends to in recent times. Finding the right partner who enriches your life and your relationship with God as well is a blessing not to ve taken lightly. Stay strong to all those divorced or having relationship problems and ask and trust God to lead the way.

I married a practicing Muslim 12 years ago when i was a bitter atheist. After much research into religions, I've landed on SDA. My husband is my second husband and my first husband i divorced 18 years ago and he is still alive.
Today, my husband spoke divorce to me because at that time i was drinking alcohol. Now he came back to me but he insists that to be fully married again, i must cover my hair. I feel covering hair is biblical and also a personal choice but in this case, my husband is demanding it. I don't want to give people the impression I'm Muslim. I can wrap in tichel style but I'm also not sure i should be married to him. We have no children together and he is a good man. What are your thoughts?

As for covering your head; please know that if you have accepted Jesus into your heart, then all you do, whether actions, words, or even the things you allow into your mind should be to glorify God alone! If you cover your head it is for God and never man. If you want to distinguish yourself as a true child of God, it will be in your obedience and love both to God and to your neighbors that will show who abides in your heart. By grace you'll bring this light to your current husband and perhaps he will be drawn to understand why Islam is a lie.. and why Jesus alone can change humans filthy sin nature. No other religion on earth offers such a glorious life with God not only in the future but also right now, right here!

Question? A friend was married three times and divorced three times before baptism. Would the death to self at Baptism count to free her to remarry? She had biblical reasons to end each marriage even though it was pre Christ

You said she had biblical reasons to end each marriage, but there's only one biblical reason given by Christ by which one can separate & remarry another, and that's if one partner sexually joins to another (Matt 5:32; Matt 19:9).

@TeStOs78 thanks for the quick response. But isn't the marriage contract "until death do us part"?
At Baptism don't we die to self and a
new creature in Christ come up out of the water?
Genuine question. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Love Pat nz

Do you think modern marriage stands a chance, where people have slept with many people before marriage? Virginity is emphasized in the Bible, that's why adultery is such an evil. What of modern society? Where having casual sex is the order of the day? Do you think modern marriages are anything close to God's will, or caged sin in the name of marriage?

@@patogden856 Yes, the apostle Paul speaks towards this in the scriptures of 1 Cor 7:39 & Rom 7:2-3 which says,
"The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord".
But remember, "till death do us part isn't even the ideal, for when marriage was instituted, death wasn't mentioned because marriage was truly in the context of being together forever (eternity). So, when we consider that death came because of sin, we can understand that separation and divorce came because of sin as well. Now, consider the ideals of God for man in a perfect world, there's no sin, no death, and marriage was a lifelong eternity. Man fell short of that ideal, and so, the far from ideal arrangement is for a wife to be bound to her husband as long as he lives, but death can loosen her from the law that bounds her to her husband. Death is an exception to the law, so when the scriptures says in Matt 19:9,
"Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery"
Jesus could have said, except it be for death only, but he introduced another exception into the less than ideal marriage arrangement which is fornication, another consequence of sin on the marriage. For if sex was made for only a husband and wife, then when they're joined together, they're joined as "one flesh" (Gen 2:29), which points not only to a physical bond but a spiritual (the entire being). When one partner goes outside the confines of that covenant and is joined with another, they're joined as one flesh, which isn't just a sin, but it loosens the innocent person's binding to law of the covenant. Jesus words on this matter neither endorsed divorce or remarrying, but merely spoke to the exception that wouldn't render the innocent party guilty of adultery if they should remarry, even though that's still far from the ideals of what God intended.
This is because the next best ideal for God in the context of a sinful world & a fallen human nature is still to live with your partner till death, thus, we have the word "forgiveness" & "reconciliation" being introduced, similarly to how we're married to Christ (Rom 7"4) and may turn and sin against him by committing fornication with the enemy, and he is always willing & ready to forgive us and reconcile us back to himself. Now, that's what God ideally wants in this less than ideal arrangement called marriage.

If your saying sister there is a biblical guidelines to divorce and as you are free from the marriage vow as you used spirit of prophecy as your other guide. Then in people's mind remarriage is ok.
But the bible quotes you mentioned makes it very plain if you divorce and marry another commits Adultery and who so ever married the one who has been put away commits Adultery.
Why is that because the marriage vow is until death do you apart.
Its a blood oath. As the apostle Paul said to the married, a man is not to divorce her wife but if she depart let her remain unmarried or be reconciled if that's possible.
Just keep this simple people the marriage vow is death until you part.

Mom, I understand. However, I have studied this topic before, and for the past 12 months, my resources show that 40% of the marriages in Adventist ends in divorce or separation. A high number in the Evangelicals as well. I sympathize with those are devorced. I wrote another song: "You've been abused day and night, When will you ever see the light, A way of escape is the answer, You got-to get out it doesn't matter". Mem stop abusing women..you will face God in the judgment. Women discuss the little foxes that can spoil your vines.

No matter the source.. the original idea and union is an institution of God. The Word itself is denotes one concept and that is the joining of man and woman. Those who entered this are bound before God regardless if it was done at city hall, on a beach, or church. Going back in time these formalities did not exist. The union is observed and entered in witnessed by heavenly beings. If entered into willingly, then it is BINDING!
