    Japan under Moriyasu looks more and more like a team with a clear identity, a set style of play, and a group of players who are smart enough to absorb a tactical plan and skilled enough to pull it off.
    Berhalter and USMNT look like they're still flinging s--- at the wall and hoping something sticks. And that is DAMNING.

    • @jttlw62
      @jttlw62 2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Nah, Moriyasu is definitely sh*t as well. You should have noticed America pushed us in the 2nd half because America changed the formation from 4-1-4-1 to 3-2-5 during build up play. We should have dealt with it immediately but Moriyasu did nothing so we were in danger in the 2nd half.

    • @MooseTheMoose
      @MooseTheMoose 2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Funny you say that cuz Moriyasu (or Poichi as we call him), has no idea what he is doing. All he does is stand there and take "memos" of the match.
      It's really the player's actually doing it themselves. He's so bad that Hasebe (former captain and now plays for Frankfurt with Kamada) had to travel with the team.

    • @a61374
      @a61374 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      No, Moriyasu is very conservative always like to stick with older players and formations rather then evolve the younger players and switching as well as taking risks, even in Japan he is very unpopular. Because of this Japan lost to Tunisia, a team which we should have easily beaten. The JFA needs reform especially the head needs to resign and let young people in charge to evolve Japanese football.

    Japan has top players in each club. Kamada and Frankfurt won the uel league. Mitoma is a new but talented player, Kubo is a barcelona academy dropout, Wataru Endo the captain from Stuttgart and many more. I laugh when Americans think they are strong. Pulisic is still worse than kamada.

    You can tell the reality of the WC is creeping in on the USMNT. From the coach on down they look anxious. This is what you worked your whole life for but you’re not ready for the moment. It shows. They will get exposed as an average team during the WC. I don’t care about their world ranks, their play doesn’t warrant them being that high.

    US deserved to be down 0-3 by 25 minutes in. You can't just gift the ball to the other team over and over on your own defensive half ! And then there defensive shape and technique was also wrong. That 2nd goal the defender executed completely incorrectly, seeming to usher the attacker to the middle for an easy shot....
    And those passes weren't slightly off - they were awful. They were missing own players by yards.
    Whatever chemistry and energy the US had a while back seems completely gone now.

    The USMNT just keep passing the BALL AROUND 2 each other, the USMNT is NOT really MOVING the Ball FORWARD enough

    • @KingOfTheLab
      @KingOfTheLab 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. They can have 68% ball possession but it's just them passing the ball to each other without accomplishing anything. The USMNT relies too much on "set pieces," whatever the hell that means. They're under the misconception that only strikers can score and the attacking midfielders, left or right wingers or central forwards don't even try to score directly even if they have an opening. By the time, they try to get the ball to the strikers, the strikers are either offside or already have 3 or 4 defenders on them and they can't squeeze by to do anything. I'd love for the US to at least reach Group of 16 but by the way they're complaining about these international friendly matches being too competitive and already thinking of struggling in the group stage, it isn't happening.

      Moriyasu prefers Maeda to Kyogo because Germany and Spain are stronger than us. In this JP team, even FW needs to chase the ball whole the game...Maeda is the one who can do the role.
