I have been shooting since 1971 and can honestly say that the X-Pro3 is the best camera I have ever used. A couple of aspects to clarify this statement: 1. The fold down screen when used in conjunction with the EVF is by far the fastest way to go from viewfinder to low viewpoint. 2. When people you photograph look at you, there is no advertisement, like NIKON, SONY or FUJIFILM, but a camera that doesn't reveal its identity. I find that I would actually pay for this! And: NO, tape like somebody suggested on dpreview, is NOT a classy solution! 3. the -6EV AF (when compared to the Pro2 or other cameras at the time of publishing) and 4. the Duratech (I have the black /really dark grey) version. Gorgeous!
This is cool to hear. As someone who has an XT3 and recently got an X100V (and is now considering swapping my XT3 for an XPRO) can you tell me what you like better about the XPRO 3?
@@babyboy1971 the form factor ,having the evf on the left and all the buttons on the right feels more natural than the mix on the other cameras, then the fact with the screen ,it really is less distracting in my opinion , you wont look at it that much 💪🏻 and the overall feel ,it just feels even more premium than the xt3 ,power wise both cameras ares very similar And the last point for me classic negativ 💪🏻😎
Best thing about 2020 is Fujifilm found Omar and started sending you gear to review. Looking forward to more in 2021. BTW, I was in bed at 1030 last night, my 2020 ended early.
I think the deciding factor when looking at this camera is it’s “form factor” and “viewfinder”. Not that it has the sensor of older x or y product. Although there are some comments about little screen that displays the film simulation it is actually very useful. Look at a scene and ask yourself is this, is this a Provia or other type of image. Hit the black button above the Q and quickly flick through them. As for the cleaner less cluttered rear, personally I like it, less stuff to fiddle with and get in the way. When selecting an item don’t just think about all the wiz bang elements, think does it talk to me ? Does this product make want to go out and take photos? It’s subjective. I have one and I love it, I also have the XT4 I don’t feel inspired by the XT4.
Same here, have the XT-2 and X100V. Almost never pick up the XT-2, eventhough I‘d prefer 35mm and never use the OVF. Actually I‘ll have a look at the X-E4. All the benefits without the downsides
Yeah baby I switched to the X-Pro3 once I needed to replace my water-damaged X-H1, realizing that I enjoyed shooting on the X-Pro1 more than the X-H1 even tho it was so old. I don’t regret getting the X-Pro3, it comes with me everywhere and I use it in all my pro shoots too. Absolutely in love.
Also I have to say, having chosen the Dura Black, the fingerprint-worries are unfounded. No one should be concerned about fingerprints on their camera. In fact, the oils of your hands create this beautiful dynamic blue tone that contrasts the warm tones of the finish. Idk, I love it and I don’t get why people disregard the Dura finishes simply because of fingerprints.
UFFF... WHAT A NICE CAMERA! LOVE FUJI's. I own the original x100 I bought back in 2011 and I'm still amazed with the quality of its pictures, I cannot imagine how good should be the xpro3.
I've been shooting with my X-Pro3 for several months; primarily street photography. The camera handles much like my X-100V but with the flexibility of interchangeable lenses. I have the Dura Black model and the finger print issue seems minor to me. When noticeable, a little lens cleaner applied indirectly with a microfiber cloth, eliminates most surface traces. The small back display, which initially produced some controversy, provides an effective means of checking current settings, including aperture setting when using a lens that does not have an external indication of f-stop such as the XF 27mm or the popular 18-55mm zoom lens. The same can be said if one chose to use any of the less expensive XC series lenses. It was really the enjoyment of my former X-Pro2 that caused me to move up to the next model.
I'm lucky, I have one. Love it, love how it pushes you to shoot a certain way because when you start shooting that way you understand what you were missing before. Designed for retro loving photographers by old school photographers. Mine!
Omar, I still use an XE-2, but I watch your videos because of several reasons. You have such a positive vibe that I would just watch your videos to get a little pick me up. Detailed reviews, and not all in a "this is good, this is bad" kind of way, but in a sweet grey areas kind of way. Keep doing what you do. I will never have enough money to buy any of the T or Pro series Fujifilm cameras, but watching your videos is vicarious pleasure worth living through the experience. Cheers from India!
I have the X-Pro 3 as well as the X100V and love both of them. The X-Pro 3 does have a more premium feel, and I love the covered LCD design. I find I seldom look at the photos until I get home and only use the screen for adjustments via the Q menu. The camera is solid feeling and well balanced. Like the X100V, I mainly use the ISO and exposure comp controls (shooting aperture priority) or ISO and shutter speed dials in manual. Both cameras excel at getting out of the way and freeing you up to be in the moment. I have other Fujifilm equipment as well-all of it excellent quality as well-but the X-Pro 3 and X100V are my favorites for walking-around photography. My hope is that we will soon see a new, slimmed down GFX body with X-series dials (like the GFX 50S), an uncluttered back with fewer but bigger buttons and joystick, and the evolved focus system and IBIS found in the XT-4.
I agree with you . The pro series deserves something more than an entry level camera . That said , I would imagine Fuji would retort that the entry level cameras are blessed with the top proline specs . Lucky consumers , I can see Fuji smiling , as they answer that question . Happy New Year and thanks for all the insights you share with us.
I`ve used X-Pro2 for 3 years and now rocking with X-Pro3 (14 months) and so far its my fav mirrorless camera from Fujifilm. It is pleasure to shoot with it, but my main couple for 2021 would be X100V + X-S10
Fujifilm is truly amazing - to me they build the most beautiful cameras on the market. Their design concept matches with trending vintage period, I like that a lot.
Over the past 18 months I’ve owned and used a: X-T2, the X-Pro2, and X100F and a X-T2 again (exchanging one for the other every time). And to be honest, the X-pro2 is the most beautiful camera ever and has amazing ergonomics! Except for the eyecup, that you basically have to replace every two weeks and the lack of a flippy tilty screen, I loved it!!! Unfortunately I ended up needing a flipscreen for work more then I thought, hence the move back to X-T2! That being said, this X-Pro3 is my ultimate dream camera and I really hope to own one soon! I love the flip down screen a lot!!! Nice video (as always), please keep making them! I enjoy your sense of humor as well! Happy new year, drom Amsterdam!!👍🏻
Used my X-Pro 1 since 2013 with 23mm f2 and 35mm f1.4 for street photography, initially I thought it was rubbish being slow to focus but a firmware update solved this completely changing the camera. 7 years on still my goto camera for street, small and unobtrusive the optical viewfinder it's ideal for this work and the 16Mp sensor is no hindrance.
I am so happy to see this. The x pro line has always looked amazing to me and I finally decided to rent one from lensrentals to try it out. I am 100% going to buy one now. Going with the x-pro 2 to save a bit of money. I love the ovf/evf option with these cameras. The ovf was something I didn't realize I was missing using mirrorless the past couple years and now it is the best of both worlds. Happy New Year Omar. Thanks for all the content you have put out.
8:28 Actually, this is one of the things that makes Fujifilm unique. The fact that you can have their best sensor in a cheap body! You pay more for more featuers, which is a great strategy for keeping both ends of the market, the consumer and the professional happy :D
Happy new year Omar. Thanks for your content and great mood. Your videos make me feel good (and that is so refreshing in this day and age) and happy. I ended up buying a x-t30 with a 18-55mm and then a cheeky 56mm 1.4 viltrox after using entry level canon (600d) for the last 7 years. I am so happy with the Fuji experience and I have mostly you to thank for that. I'm a casual user (family and travel) but this camera and your videos made me want to get out a shoot and I have been doing that now. Anyways, thank you for what you do and for sharing it with us. All the best for you and your family in 2021!
Excellent review. The xt30 introduced me to Fujifilm, the xpro3 clinched it. As an aside, you're a really positive person, these days we really need that. I bet your family loves being in lockdown with you. I hope you and your's have a great New Year!
Add me to the list of happy XPro3 owners/users. Favorite digital camera to date. Love the OVF/EVF and have even found the flip screen useful, especially when masked and freezing. IQ is superb and I find the weight to be just right for my aging frame. As a travel camera, it is hard to beat it coupled with the 16-80. Not sure I could walk around all day with on of the GX series. Happy New Year, Omar. Keep up the good work. Jim
X-Pro3 and x100v all day ❤️ Happy New Year for you and your Family. The Rangefinder Style Fuji Body's are so beautiful and nostalgic. For Family Pictures the X-Pro3 is not my 1st Choice but for solo Fotowalks with an Manual Lens... It is sooo much fun ❤️
Happy New Year Omar! I found not just your show, but a ton of youtube photographers near the beginning of the lock down and you guys helped keep me entertained and sane whilst (?) stuck at home. So thank you for doing this channel, keep it up, and looking forward to watching your 2021 content -- hopefully back out in the wide world again.
Ditched all my Nikon full frame stuff and bought an X Pro3 with lenses. Still a little confused but I will continue to play with it. I love it. I'm really "into" the style of the camera. Can't wait to really get out and break it in.
Good Morning. The XPro3 is such an interesting camera and just gorgeous. I thought a mistake was made when I gave my XPro2 to my daughter. But, once I had it in my hand, it was a good move. Ok, the screen.....I dont chimp all that much. So, setup the front fn button to “playback”. You can keep your eye at the view finder and still review the photo, if necessary. I have my X100V setup the same. With these two cameras, there is nothing I need for the type of photography that interests me. Welcome to the love fest. Happy New Year. Regards....Wayne
I love my 50f2. It's genuinely a toss up between the 35f1.4 and it everyday. I put the lens hood on backwards and got a little clear filter just to protect it, and it's super compact. I can fit it and my X-T2 in my little Adidas waist pack. I'm looking at the X-Pro3 dura silver or X-100V as my next upgrade.
I’ve had my X-Pro3 since August and I love it. It quickly took over as my everyday carry body, and when paired with the “Fujicrons” it’s a faster, more affordable, and more ergonomic rangefinder than Leicas (and I own an M3)! If you’re wanting to get one long term, the Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 is a really great pens if you’re willing to work with a manual focus only lens.
I have the X Pro 3 and I love it. It’s a terrific camera that makes photography fun. The 50mm f2 is an excellent lens at a nice price point. I like that they share the same sensor and processor because it makes it easier to batch process files from XT4 and X Pro 3 at the same time. Happy New Year!
I love the old school film feel of this rangefinder. We have a couple non digital rangefinders however and are sticking with the XT series ! Thanks for the review !
The Pro3 and 27mm is easily my favorite digital street camera/lens combo. There is something about the Gen-1 glass on the new sensor that’s loaded with character. The fold away screen has proven to be an excellent, battery saving feature. At first I found it to be a goofy quirk but over time I vastly prefer it. It and a Barnack Leica are my usual digital/film street kit and could scarcely be happier.
I glad you have it bro! This is the coolest and high tech rangefinder style you could ever find eventhoug its not really a tangefinder. I love fuji for giving the photographers this options, they are the only camera company that really listens to the photographers. Enjoy the new toy happy new year!
XPro1 user here... yes, still! I have the XH1, XT1 and XPro1. I shoot news, sports, and product work and I use the XPro1 for when I've traveled and I wanted a smaller camera.
Had mine for a while now and it has become my go-to choice. Mainly waist level as the LCD is so clear and bright. Favourite lens is the 27mm, noisy but great results. Fitted Haoge, JCC replacement hoods on this and all my other prime Fuji lenses - Happy New Year from the UK.
What a beautiful camera. It’s probably one of the best looking cameras out there! The 50 f2 is great. Its my main horse on the t30. Happy new year Omar ! 🥳
I'm blown away by the quality of design and construction on this camera. It's the most inspiring digital camera I can imagine (with the X100 series). With the aperture ring on the new XF 27mm lens, it will become close to perfect. Tee X-E4 will be my new, secondary body. I disagree with your opinion about keeping top sensors out of lower end bodies. They already do that for the X-Ax and X-Tx00 series. Having the same core elements in 4-5 bodies with very different form factors and user interfaces is great for people who want the complementarity of these different bodies without altering the core image-making features.
I just got the X-Pro 3 and LOVE IT! I've been shooting with the X-T1 since its release. Your videos played a significant part in assisting me to my decision, so thanks. I also picked up the 35mm f2. Yesterday was my first day out shooting and yes, I'm feeling this camera! P.s. No charger in my box!
I'm always a would-be purchaser of the X-Pro series, because I love the rangefinder style form factor, and I'm a fan of XF lenses. What holds me back is the utility of the optical finder evaporates with wider or narrower FOV lenses than what can be realistically accommodated by the frame lines and the size of the window. If you use anything wider than 18mm or longer than either of the 35mm lenses, you're likely switching to the EVF, and, quite frankly, 1.) that's the range of the X100 series and the WCL and TCL lenses (which I own and enjoy using), without the advantages of a leaf shutter, a ND filter, and a much smaller overall package, and 2.) if you're using the EVF all the time, there are more functional and less expensive Fuji cameras that use the XF mount.
I'm xpro1user since last month and also have xt20 with xf 50mm for a year. I really love my xt20 with 50mm until I bought xpro1. It is so beautiful and the PQ is good. I really want to bring it to the street snap even hiking more than others( unless xpro 2 or 3 :) ). Happy shoting and 2021. :)
I first had a used X-Pro1 but it's refresh rate for thr EVF was very slow. Then I purchased a X-Pro2 and it's refresh was great so I no longer use the OVF as much but it still comes handy when shooting on the move. As for the X-Pro3 I really like the idea of the back screen. But I've only had the X-Pro2 for a year and a half so getting the X-Pro3 is not going to happen. Maybe the new X-E4 if it shows up. Right now the X-Pro2 is doing very well. Happy New Year everyone!
Love, love, love my xpro2! Not sure why it feels so right in the hand but unless I am doing sport or wildlife photography it’s the camera for me! Using it really feels like proper photography (nope, I don’t know what the hell I mean either but it does!) oh and Happy New Year, keep safe everyone and Omar thanks for entertaining and informing me through 2020.
Happy new year! I just knew you were going to put the 27mm on there. That is a great everyday combo that I use with my X-Pro3. The camera is actually fairly small and with the 27mm it is a perfect bring with me everywhere setup.
@@karolisstankuss7932 ;) Understood but I was referring to the 27mm he had on his X-T20 noir camera on his desk. Hopefully he tries that combo as well. Happy New Year!
Love this camera. My daughter talked me into giving her my XPro2. So, my only choice was to buy a used 2 or a new 3. I opted for the XPro3. Oh, I dont really care about how the screen is setup. I dont chimp much so no issue for me. Besides, I setup the front fn button to “playback”. So, if I need to look at a photo, I can without removing the camera from my eye. I have my X100V setup exactly the same way. The XPro3 line continues to be a great choice if you want to change lenses. I use only primes so it keeps the form factor smaller. Nice presentation. Happy New Year. Wayne

I have my X100V setup the same. With these two cameras, there is nothing I need for the type of photography that interests me. Welcome to the love fest. Happy New Year. Regards....Wayne
Congrats on your new toy! Happy New Year Omar! Here is to a better one in 2021!🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely LOVE my GFX 50R hehehe. Happy new year to you as well!
Happy new year Omar !!! You are great a big Hello from Italy 🇮🇹
Happy New Year, boss! I've enjoyed discovering your channel this year. Health and happiness to you and your adorable family in the New Year.
Happy New Year. All the best for 2021...
Love my X-Pro3 but I can't deny it, that X-Pro1 still has a certain magic about its X-Trans1 files!
Happy new Year!! Health and happiness in 2021!
Proud owner of X-Pro 3 in gorgeous Dura Black. Great video Omar, I’ve been waiting for it this.
How are the finger prints? I’m thinking of getting the same one.
@@red92diaz it’s a fingerprint magnet unfortunately.
Wishing you and family a safe and healthy new year. Keep up the great work
Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family! Thanks for all your excellent videos.
Happy new year. Can’t wait to see some shots on the x pro 3
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family!!!
The 50mm f2 is the love of my life. It hardly ever leaves my camera.
Agree - what a beautifully versatile, wonderful lens. One of sharpest in the x-mount lineup.
I have had x-t1, x-t2 and even x-pro2 but my x-pro3 is by far my favourite and easiest to use camera.
Welcome to 2021 Omar. Happy New year!
Fun way to start the new year. I looove my XT20 thanks to you!
Happy new year to you, your family and your viewers! 😊
What a beautiful camera. It’s probably one of the best looking cameras out there! The 50 f2 is great. Its my main horse on the t30. Happy new year Omar ! 🥳
Happy new year Omar. It’s been a rough ride, but you’ve helped me keep my photography humming to get through.
That’s my camera. I love it. It’s absolutely amazing and mature.
I picked up a dura silver x-pro 3 a while back and ive been loving it. Mainly been using it with the 35mm F2 and an assortment of manual lenses.
Nice surprise to end the year...love the look of the X-Pro3
Happy new year buddy, love the xpro 3
Feliz año nuevo to you too!
Hè Omar ! Happy new year ! Thanks for all Nice video's from last year ! Gr from Holland 👍
Happy New Year Omar. Love my Pro3. Thanks for all the video's this past year...
Happy new year Omar, best wishes for 2021 🏴
I'm always a would-be purchaser of the X-Pro series, because I love the rangefinder style form factor, and I'm a fan of XF lenses.
Happy New Year. This camera is Perfect for Street and Documentary photography. I have mine for 9 months now and I love it. love the retro look.
ive kerpt with my x-pro 2 and still love it.
That’s my go-to camera. I love the XPro3. I love the 50mmf2 as well!
Happy new year to you Omar. I love my Xpro-2 and use it daily. The 50 mm is really a sharp cookie, you will like it.
Happy New Year!!🎆 thanks for all of the great content!
Happy new year.
The 50/f2 is absolutely one of my favourite lenses.
Happy new year! I just knew you were going to put the 27mm on there. That is a great everyday combo that I use with my X-Pro3. The camera is actually fairly small and with the 27mm it is a perfect bring with me everywhere setup.
Its the 35:) not 27 ;)
@@karolisstankuss7932 ;) Understood but I was referring to the 27mm he had on his X-T20 noir camera on his desk. Hopefully he tries that combo as well. Happy New Year!
@@stevemphoto happy new year to you too
Happier New Year from London.
Wayne
Oh i just bought that lens 50mm f2 I love it super fast autofocus
