Meet Mia the Mini Dachshund

- Mia was our very first mini dachshund. Ever since she was a puppy, she was the kindest and most gentle dog. Before owning a dachshund, we had heard some negative stereotypes associated with the breed, but Mia was the best dog we could have ever asked for. She loves people and other dogs, and her most favourite thing to do is cuddle with us, especially under our hoodies!
She also loves her little brother, Remi, and they get along so well, they are basically joined at the hip! Mia's favourite time of day is dinner time, and when it gets to 6 o'clock on the dot, she will stare at us and try to get our attention until we finally give her dinner. It is an adorable trait. We cannot wait for many more years with our precious Mia.

Mia is a lil dolly girl - and the prettiest caramel color! Unusual for a doxie to be so laid-back - but wonderful. Every dog owner wants a cuddlebug companion - and you have TWO. Very lucky. I had my mini black and tan for 16 and a half years. He was so sweet and intelligent. He's been gone for over 30 years and I still dream about him.

Yes I had two dachshunds. Mia is the typical dachshund. They love to snuggle and covered up. They are the sweetest baby but can be stubborn too. Lol

Sounds like the same dynamic as Mia and Remi! Mia is so sweet and gentle, and Remi is more of a handful, especially because he is a puppy!

Did you train her not to bark a lot or is she naturally like that? My boy Jaxson, 2002-2018, barked all the time. nothing we did could stop him

Just be aware that dachshunds are very athletic dogs that they love to play and be outdoors too. It can be very unhealthy for them to not get lots of activity.
That's the other fun part of dachshunds is their love of the outdoors and playing.

They definitely are very active! We make sure to take them for long walks and love off leash areas so they can run around and get a lot of energy out!
She's super cute, seems a bit small though, maybe give her a little more dinner.
How did you train her to behave so calm?? I am getting my miniature dachshund on September 15th (cant wait!) and i heard they tend to bark at literally everything and anything 😂😂
They make good watch dogs. A bonus!!!
She was always like that as a puppy, I think it is just her personality. Remi is nowhere near as calm haha he is definitely a barker!
I grew up with Dachshunds' all my life. They're such characters. I miss them.

He grabbed a rolled up pair of socks, ran behind our sofa...I jumped on it to stop him and my little toe connected with the solid wooden arm of the sofa...crack! My dad heard the crack in the kitchen whilst he was cooking :)

No no...Dachshunds don’t get them stuck under the couch....they do that on purpose. If you get it for her, it’ll find it’s way right back under there. Chloemonster does that ALL the time 😆

I've had mini dachshunds now for easily 20 years. Right now I have a wirehaired called Frank who is nearly 8 years old and a smooth red called Emily who has just turned one year old. Once you have sausages that's it, you're hooked. Your baby is adorable!!

My sister had a dachshund named Sam. He had a common "flaw" that dachshunds have- his little black nose sat about halfway down his snout, kind of like Snoopy. He had a lot of humor, as if he knew his nose was different. Everyone treated him like he was gorgeous and he thought so too. Every Sunday, he would run down the row of chairs at the dinner table and put that cold nose on the back of every female's legs and loved it when everyone jumped. When someone just had socks on, he'd sniff their feet and back up sneezing like he'd been gassed. No one taught him this stuff, he was a born comedian. He was a sweetie, too. Miss that little dude.

Awesome dog! Terrific breed! We have six dachshunds in our house, three of which were rescued. They get along great and they are fantastic companions and very much a part of our home.

We have a mini and she is totally opposite Of Mia. She loves to play tag and of course I chase her mostly. She also loves to shoot rubber bands. Chloe is her name and she will be 5 in October
