Living in Florence, I was lucky enough to see the Rossignolo Ensemble perform more than once. They are astonishing. Also, as an amateur recorder player, I took some lessons with Maestro Noferi: one of the best musical and human experience I had.
In these times of harsh cacophony in many spheres of our lives, it does one inordinate good to go back to the pleasures of smaller ensembles with their sweet intimate sounds. Of course, Telemann 's melodies are wonderful , complex yet reminding us of innocence and simplicity. Lovely post, many thanks.
Lebhafte und wunderschöne Interpretation dieser sechs kompakten doch perfekt komponierten Meisterwerke in relativ schnellen Tempi mit gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Die Virtuosität aller Einzelspieler ist wahrlich ergreifend. Echt ausgezeichnetes Ensemble!
Casper Ablij - I much prefer the sound of a baroque wooden flute to the modern concert flute made from various types of metal !! Also, I think that what really rocks in this wonderful sonata is the interaction between the recorder and the flute: both instruments are stunningly beautiful and they complement one another very well!! Telemann was a genius!!
I am listening Telemann from Bangladesh, from almost the other part of the world where Telemann composed this. Did Telemann think this while composing?

Telemann may not have the fame of Bach and Handel in our day, but he was hugely prized in his own day, and rightly so. He was a great master.
