    That is going to look cracking... given the work and extras your going to put on it, would you keep it if you'd brought the larger model? That back end must be kept on with four bolts and bloody magic, just wouldn't think it would be strong enough. Great series fella... really looking forward to seeing what you do with seat and back-end.

      Yeah, I reckon it would be a keeper if it was the 1100. Of course the 1100 has a seat subframe that has to be cut off, so it's all or nothing with that. I might be keeping this for a while yet, but we'll see.

    Every experience I've had of riding a bike in the rain, has taught me that mudguards keep the dirt of of areas where you don't want dirt, but they absolutely do not keep you dry. 😂

    Looking like a great plan, can't wait to see the build. I'm with you on the front lights, they are good to have and I'd be tempted to keep them too. Great series, looking forward to seeing more.

      Skäl Ivan. Yes, I'm pretty sure the lights are staying, but we will see!

      Skäl Dave. Well that was the easy bit I’ve been practicing in my mind for months. Now I have to get it out of mind and into steel and paint.

    hi david mike here i have changed the indicators on my 1100 Dragstar to smaller one. not mini like the ones you put on the 650vstar but the only bulbs i can put in there as a replacement for the 10watt bulbs are led 21watts do you think they will be ok for the battery not to much power going through can help pls good job on the 650 bobber where did you get those indicators from that unscrew from the front i like them smart a big thumbs up for them mate very nice

      Thanks Mike. Indicators were from Motone. LED draw very little power compared to standard bulbs so I don't see that you should have any issues.

    Instant bobber or what, 4 bolts and the whole rear end gone :) I have the same problem with patience David, want everything yesterday :) nice work mate.

      Skäl Chris. In terms of conversions this has to be about as simple as it gets. If you buy the kits you could do most of it in a weekend.

    What type of Exhaust do you have installed?
    Thanks

    • @MotoMirius
      @MotoMirius  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was fitted by the previous owner and it has no markings so it's just a generic part.

    Hey Dave, profile has a real hardtail look to it. Love that. Why do wheels always look so cool without a mudguard/fender? That front wheel looks great naked lol. The rear indicators location is pretty much where I put mine on the FJ (really must get back on that), it's a great location! My front indicators were on the front of the frame, looked pretty cool I thought lol. Looking forward to more on this one fella. RSMB

      Skäl Stan. Yeah I’d be tempted to run without that front mudguard and the back is going to be effectively non existent. Indicators are pretty much where I have them on the Sportster. I’m going to use them to help hide it not being a hard tail at first glance. See you soon I hope even if only on screen. Get back in that bike!

      No! Have you been mistreating the poor thing?

    • @MackieBass
      @MackieBass 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I love her to bits. Oil started pissing down while on the road. I think something to do with counter shaft seal...but couldn't take it apart as it was dark and no tools. I'm just hoping there's not much damage to the internal parts...

      😬 it’s never good when that happens. It’s great that you noticed it. Fingers crossed that you caught it in time.

      Oh I don't know...it was oil everywhere. I think the bearings got destroyed too... :(

    It looks like your front Tire rotation is mounted backwards. Now its pushing water under it insteed of sidewards. I hope my Englisch is a bit understandable. ;)

    • @MotoMirius
      @MotoMirius  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kevin, your English is great. Yes, it is very common for the tread pattern to be reversed on the front tyre. You find it on motorbikes and pedal cycles.
      According to the tyre manufacturers the front tyre tread is reversed because of braking but I’ve never seen a good explanation. Skäl and thanks for asking!
