  • My friend and detecting partner Jim spends his winters in Florida now to escape from the cold Syracuse weather. He joined a local detecting club where he met and became good friends with legendary metal detectorist and author, Terry Shannon. Jim had the opportunity to interview Terry and see his very impressive collection of metal detecting finds and we are sharing that with you here on yerdigginit in a 3 part series. Those are the types of things I have dreamed of finding since I was a kid and I first heard of the treasure fleet. Crazy the amount of rings found also. Thanks for doing this interview.     Met Terry at a hunt just north of Vero Beach in March of 2021 and he signed my copy of Detecting the Treasure Coast. He's a very friendly and likeable person who is always willing to share some of his treasure hunting stories. What a collection.

    Amazing video. That's a lot of holes to find all that history. Amazing collection of rings but I love the Spanish silver. Great history. I like the lead bar from making musket balls. Best wishes from Lancashire, England.

    A few years ago I brie met Terry Shannon as he was leaving Melbourne Beach and I was arriving to detect. I often meet fellow detectors at that Beach. I have detected from Wabasso to Cocoa Beach but no Spanis channelh treasure yet. You may see me occasionally detecting with my son J Man on the Metal Sharxs. I will be 80 in May and am a native of Florida.

    Please can you give me some more information about the ocea ore / ocea oor? The lead voodoo thing 12:20 min. Ik have the same.
