I am hard-pressed to see the 'X' in several of the paintings, though squinting helps. Because the teacher/narrator is a mature woman, and because it illustrates an era in art with which I am enamored beyond words, I am intrigued. Even though I do not use intentionality of this kind in my art- if I did, I'd wouldn't paint a thing! I am for once captivated by an analysis of art. Even if you can’t see the x , the intent is there. The goal is not to have it a bold visible x. Breaking it up makes it more subtle. However, I am glad you were interested in composition. I would be happy to look at your work if you give it a try.
