Also Italian has loads 'n loads of accents, even little towns each other far 2km have totally different accents, so you must count how all these accents behave in italian and tranfer that to English ( or whatever accent ); that makes isolating a general italian accent a serious issue, but, overall, it's pretty correct as most italians ( especially ones that have a less " powerful " accent ) tend to " forget " their native accent when in front of other italians and when talking with foreigners.Stereotypes are called like that because there's some truth in them.

please to anyone watching this video, this is a stereotype we don't actually talk like that, pls don't talk to an Italian like this they might think your making fun of them
Marco Domenici The point is not if we can speak English or not, is that the italian accent that we have while speaking english is not the same of the video. Of course who can't speak english very well will have a strong accent, but it's like this one.
What she say about the two elements is not totally correct, 'couse we also have "Dittonghi": a couple of vocals that, listened, seems a single phonem. For example: piano, voi (you at plurar), piove (it rains), qui (here) etc... This video seems very rough. (Sorry for my bad english.)
+Luckey Wlas No it's fine but you are right here let me see if there is more i can add like ai or the word aiuto which breaks the aim sound. ai sounds like the last letters in die there is a word in italian dai which uses this sound moving on to aiuto which would Ah-you-to thean there are trittonghi oh yeah the ghi gia difference ghi ghe makes the sound in get and go but if you want joe sound you say gio add an i between vowels I think I did good at explaining this
I wonder if this video should be removed or modified and corrected properly because of all the misleading examples it contains ... and we are a bit fed up with all the stereotipes about Italians. By the way, Diphtongues exist in Italian !
For everyone who's saying this is stereotypical, yes it is, but I'm pretty sure she's only doing it that exaggerated so it's easy to learn. She said in the video that you should start like this and then dial it back until it sounds more natural.
Your video is awesome, interesting, and super educational. Almost perfect. To make it perfect just change the title into "how to do a Russian SuperMario accent".
I think most people don't see this as a acting tool, it is made to help actors often get a role from a specific stereotype, broken english is key to play a immigrant role in any play. It is made not to offend a culture, but to characterize it to be shown in a playful and humoristic manner. By the way I'm also an immigrant.

Unfortunately, I as an Italian can overlook it and not take it seriously but foreign people don't know the reality and will end up believing that we talk like that.
I’m laughing so hard, we have diphthongs, this isn’t even Italian, this is like, FROM MARS😭
Sounds more like Dracula then Italian 😂😂
"italians don't have diphtongs" ahahahahah! Never ever thought someone could say that! We have several! Really, it is hard to make a complete sentence in italian without two vowels in a row...
our pitch doesnt go up and down in every single word i-
The weird thing is that I’m italian and I’m watching a video to how to do my accent, lol
I just learned I little bit of Italian let me show you if it's correct: A strunz ma de che sta ddi kittamuort a spaccim de sort, si sta qua è u accent Italiano parliamo tutti come pizzeria Giuseppe, pizza pie kittamuort
This means I enjoyed your video and your actually Italian accent PIZZA MAFIA PASTA
This is not Italian, this is Super Mario
I'm italian and I think that you need ti call this video "how to fake a fake italian"
There are many versions of italian accent ,actually we can say italian accents , from noth to south from East to west .
The version I ear in this lesson Is the Brooklyn version .
Ma, esattamente, che materia insegni: stereotipi?
Prof.ssa Caban: - Ok, ragazzi, oggi impareremo a parlare come Super Mario.
Studente: - Prof, a che pro?” P: - Taci e fai finta di vivere a Bensonhurst, che i tuoi bisnonni siano di Avellino e che tu non sia mai stato in Italia.
S: - IT'S-A ME, MARIO!
P: - A.
[Lo so, avrei dovuto scrivere questo commento in inglese, ma temevo potesse leggerlo con quella specie di accento russo che è un insulto alla pizza e al mandolino]
I came here to speak like a mob boss
AND I SPOKE LIKE A NATIVE ITALIANO
In Italy we have vowels at the end of almost every word
I’m italian and rn I’m laughing so hard
wtf is this
This is what happens when you lie on your résumé, but still get the job
did she learn this from super mario?
I'm italian,I understand english quite well...And I'm having lot of fun! :D
This video is secretly teaching you to do a Russian accent. If I was a paranoid rabbit, I would think this video is trying to surreptitiously turn Americans into Russians.
Whaat?! o.O It's true that some italian people have a strong accent (however i think all languages have it) but it is completely different from the one showed in this video. We don't speak like Mario!! xD There are also a lot of people who can speak english without their italian accent...this is more a stereotype than reality
Grats on 3 mil. subs.
please to anyone watching this video, this is a stereotype we don't actually talk like that, pls don't talk to an Italian like this they might think your making fun of them
that's not Italian, that's super Mario
This is more of a stereotypical accent.
I agree!! There are Italian people who speak English with a good accent.
Marco Domenici Yes, in all my life I met a couple !
Marco Domenici
The point is not if we can speak English or not, is that the italian accent that we have while speaking english is not the same of the video.
+Luckey Wlas No it's fine but you are right here let me see if there is more i can add like ai or the word aiuto which breaks the aim sound. ai sounds like the last letters in die there is a word in italian dai which uses this sound moving on to aiuto which would Ah-you-to thean there are trittonghi oh yeah the ghi gia difference ghi ghe makes the sound in get and go but if you want joe sound you say gio add an i between vowels I think I did good at explaining this
Italiano baffi neri, mangia spaghetti, suona mandolino? SuperMario Bros..... "it'sehh miihhh Marrriohhh" :
:D :D :D
You are right😂, this video doesn't make sense at all.
I though you were gonna go mob boss offensive but instead you went super Mario offensive
Purrrlease !! This should be called something like "How to do a stereotypical Italian Brooklyn accent"
Great! Ten years on here and still just as helpful. Thenk-uh-yooou!
I think most people don't see this as a acting tool, it is made to help actors often get a role from a specific stereotype, broken english is key to play a immigrant role in any play. It is made not to offend a culture, but to characterize it to be shown in a playful and humoristic manner. By the way I'm also an immigrant.
i need to learn this for a voice acting role! character is just. italian
i like how it says "how to do an italian accent" and 2 seconds in the video "how to APPROACH an italian accent"
quello è più un accento da greco o russo ahahah ma va dai ! ;)
i'm italian, this is not completely true, the pronunciation of the woman it's just like a russian or a greek ahaha
This is not Italian, this is what people who have never heard Italian think Italian sounds like
Who else is here from What a Shame Mary Jane 😀?
I'm auditioning for Max in the show Lend Me a Tenor at school. He at some points has to have a very bad Italian accent. This helps loads because it was so overwhelmingly stereotypical! I know that isn't what you were going for but it helped in my case.
I'm from italia i'm tuscany, if you want to say "where are you from?" i would say "where arr you fromme"
Dové in Toscana? Firenze? Firenze sembrare bello, ma sono australiana :(
@@ActLikeATribe I'm from Piedmont, in the north of Italy, and I visited Tuscany and Firenze 4 years ago. Trust me, I literally cried. It is heaven. DEFINITELY my fav city
Oh come on, this is how Robert De Niro would sound if he would play the parody of a sicilian boss.
I need to cosplay an Italian soon, actually I need to cosplay THE Italy. Anyone who has watched Hetalia will know how Todd does the voice of Italy and he actually does it an octave higher than my voice is, plus its rather stereotypical. So I have to combine these techniques whilst making my voice higher.
Yes I know Italy voice actor does the accent I watched Hetalia and I don't know how but I can do Italy's voice....
Ha, that's the exact reason I'm here. Except I'm doing Chibitalia.
Mya Pederson One of my friends is ding Chibitalia and another is doing Romano, I was left to do Veneziano because the one who was going to do Veneziano had a much too high voice when doing the Italian accent so I was left for Vene~
Well, I'm a girl and I can make my voice go pretty high. I'm also to small to do Veneziano.
I'm here for Chibitalia training!~ I'm glad I found more fans! xD
How to do a SuperMario accent... I correct this for you.
Mamma mia! Pizza mafia e mandolino!
E vabbè...
i wish i never watched this video. what the hell? we don't speak like super mario..
didn't sound italian at all, it sounded russian LMAOOO
Oddio nessuno parla così 😱😱
Nel favoloso mondo dell'ignoranza americana gli italiani secondo loro parlano così e anche peggio
And the most important thing: IF U FIND ONE SINGLE ITALIAN SCREAMING "MAMMA MIA PIZZERIA" I'LL BE PLEASED DO GIVE U WHATEVER I OWN
Just dropped by but it's cool how she's enjoying herself(and of course the Italian accent). She's so enthusiastic about teaching 'bout it that I think she want to extend the video more. lol
I dont know, but I was thinking about The Padrino, and suddenly I got here
This is so offensive I can't do nothing but laugh :'D
O.O) I was listening amazed, thinking: "finally! Someone who can teach to the world how to speak italian (like somebody actually need it for some reason) without act like a parody of *Super Mario*!"
...
then she started to talk like *Dracula* and I dropped my hopes.
Oh, well, maybe next time.
-BETMARK-
maybe this can help.
She reacts to the video and explains how it's really pronounced, somewhat
i'm italian and this video IS SO FUNNY
+Ginn Sykes so why are you watching a video on how to do an Italian accent hahhahah
dbacksfan2 BECAUSE I HAVEN'T A SOCIAL LIFE :DDDDD
CERCHIAMO VITA SOCIALE CIAOO :D
Ines Daress IO NON LA CERCO SINCERAMENTE
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
TH-cam just made a recommendation I can't refuse.
come fare un accento russo.
BRUTTO PERÒ.
I know this is exaggerated but I need to have an exaggerated Italian accent for a play I’m doing. Thank you
a sorella ma che cazzo stai a dì
