I love this tutorial, And how Sandra simplifies (and describes) the chord patterns and makes them so comprehensible. Great tutorial to a great song Sandra ❤️ 🎸
Awesomeness. Bought this lesson about a week ago. The "A" sections came fairly easy, but the "B" section chords are giving my finger memory a good workout. I think I've finally gotten all the chords down. It's slower than the standard tempo, but I'm making progress!! ❤❤🎵🎶😊👍
The speed comes when you're brain starts thinking ahead. It's usually just the stress to know where to go next on the fretboard. Once you don't have to think much about that anymore, you'll speed up.
So much to say - in a nutshell, fantastic! (as usual). So much to learn, not just the song, but analysis of chord structure and bit of theory. There's always something to learn each time when watching repeatedly. I even discovered excellent strings that were just a aside comment in one lesson (thanks). I'm currently working on "Sunny Side of the Street" but have only developed a majority of it in sixths. It's a great "happy" tune to try.
Late lunch today - but, worth the wait! A great Gershwin standard. I remember looking at the chord chart for this a long time ago, and shaking my head. Never attempted it back the , but I’m going to give this version a whirl when I’m done eating! Sandra, thanks again for bringing us these “doable” classics. You’re my jazz hero😄👍.
Always appreciate a cool response, mean no ill respect, when I was a kid, my great, great Aunt, introduced me to awesome music. it was 78S. I wore them out, just to listen.
Absolutely beautiful !! 👍 Your video lessons are simply fantastic. You play beautifully and your teaching is so clear and easy to follow. You must put hours and hours into each video. Thank you for all that work and for sharing your expertise - and thank you so much for sharing.
So glad you like the tutorials and they're heloful. Yes, it's really a lot of work. Getting lovely and encouraging comments like yours really keep me motivated ❤️.
Another great one, thank you Sandra. Also, I really like that on the download you have all three nomenclatures - the tabs, regular music score, and especially the chord diagrams. They make it much faster for me to find where I am. As usual, you're the best ;)
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman That makes sense. I also find the chord boxes helpful as a tool to memorize new chords by having a mental image of the form rather than just memorizing by rote minor-7-flat-5-add-9 etc.

I am no expert as you, but you know what makes me feel pretty ok, is simple, improvisation, these days, a simple balance , not afraid to admit, Not saying for anyone is good idea, though, makes things a lot easier to invent new stuff , I stopped being depressed, by playing again, Thanks!
Sure, keep it simple. If we solo at a level we can handle well,we are able to put all our soul into, without haing to focus on technical or theory stuff, whle playing.
hi teacher, I been play acoustic guitar for couple years, Bossa nova and jazz is my favorite music style but I only know few chords and few simple rhythm and I even do not know what I am playing, this is so sad. I really want to learn how learn guitar systematic, do u have any lesson or advice for me ? thank u so so much ❤️
Hi Sandra. I hope you are keeping well. I was wondering if you would try sometime to do an arrangment of the opening verses of Someone To Watch Over Me before it leads into the main verses. I've just been listening to Ella Fitzgerald's version. Ella sings it in Aflat - perhaps it's too awkward to arrange it and make it work in Eflat for guitar? (I think there's a name for 'pre main-song prelude' in songwriting? I used to know it. I don't think the word is 'intro'. I've often found those preludes to be just as interesting to hear (and try to occasionally learn) as the main song itself. Thanks for this lovely arrangment. And also for ,Don't Get 'Round Much Anymore' which was a request I put in a good while back. Have a lovely day. Captainsun.
Hallo Sandra, sehr gelungene Lehrstunde in Sachen Chordmelody and Smooth Jazz.

If you want to learn systematically, you need a teacher. YT videos don't have a correct order. We don't create with that in mind.

I think it's just called Verse, while the main head is called Chorus or Head.

Gerald, genau danach suche ich auch, siehe meine Frage an Sandra von heute...

Please can you refer the book (free PDF would be fine) with this standard, I only found "150 American Jazz Standards" (V. Kiselev)...

Erm, no. I tune to 440Hz. But maybe YT slows things down?
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman hahah they must have for this one- so crazy! btw what a work out! you are so so skilled
Phrase 3 has no melody. So is this where solos would occur?
You can always fill in the blanks with some additional chords or solo lines.
Have you ever thought of something like" pork hat pie" as a lesson, easy, on the mind?
Not yet, but I'll put it on the list.
Sorry, i've just seen: M = mineur. In France M=Majeur
In jazz we write - for minor and a triangle symbol for major.
Pity the tabs are behind PayPal...😌 ... and not normal credit card
