      Thank you so much for the kind comment about the lovey, I surprised myself! I think I'll place him behind me so that he will feature in future videos 🙂❤️
      As for future boxes, I'm going to do some research and see if there are some Australian kits that I can try. I won't be buying another Hooks and Needles Subscription box though.
      Have you tried any of the subscription boxes before?

    Hi Mel! Love your channel. This subscription box looks great!! It almost looks like you can make all three items with the yarn! I am not a person to join such a subscription but I’ll have to make an exception with this company! Everything is lovely! Especially that merino yarn AND a wooden hook! Wow!

    I considered this box a few times, but I just can't. The things in the box I can buy identical on amazon/yarn shops. The scissors are £2 on amazon. The hook is a couple of £. The needles the same. Even the patterns aren't exclusive. That plush is a free video on youtube. I think all you're paying for is for someone to tell you what to make. I'm glad someone really honest reviewed it because it solidified my choice not to do it and my fear of missing something cool is gone.

      Hiya 👋
      Thank you so much for your kind comment 🙏💗 I just felt like I needed to be honest about it. I know people are curious, but also on a budget (like me) and I would hate for someone to waste money on something that I said was good quality, only to find out that it's not worth the expense. Plus, I would hate for anyone to be expecting something amazing and then be very disappointed.
      I'm really glad my review helped you 😊💗 Save your money, and buy some of your favourite yarn instead, and know you're not missing out on anything 🤗💗🧶

    I find most subscriptions are more heavily designed to make the provider a profit rather than offering the purchaser good deals. This does not change my mind. I don't buy into subscriptions. I would never buy a kit anyway if it was not clear exactly what was to be made out of it along with the supplies to finish it. If there are 3 patterns in the box I would expect enough supplies to make all 3 or be disappointed. Better they have 1 pattern with everything required to complete it. For what it offers, I also think this kit expensive even without postage.
    The whole point of a kit, IMO, is that everything is in the right quantity of the right stuff to make the shown project/s in it (preferably the seller would offer a choice of including a tool or not as well). People like kits so that there are no decisions to be made beyond the choice of which kitted project they want to make.
    With a subscription like this I wonder. Are people going to get a set of tools in every monthly box? That's gathering a lot of things they already have and don't always need or want. That isn't a justifiable expense. Very wasteful.
    As soon as I saw that hook, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be a good grip for you from what I've seen. A wood handle can give reason to say it is a "posher" hook to justify a higher expense, but then it should also be designed better, to have a quality shape and good sized shaft that offers grip. Wood tools can be cheaper than plastic if not made well.
    This is the first I've heard of these kits but now see a column of suggested videos to watch on them having seen your review here. I'm quite shocked by the kit details in truth. It makes me wonder how much advertising these have had to create a false positive in regards to their true value?
    Your review was very fair. I was happy to see you create something and give an honest opinion.
    I hope to see more creations and how your chosen yarns work up in your projects.

    • @MelsYarniverse
      @MelsYarniverse  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Nefraial 👋
      Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I understand what you mean about kits that specifically only feature the one pattern or project rather than a selection being more worthwhile.
      And I agree, it does seem rather wasteful to continually receive kits with all those resources in them. If you subscribed for a whole year of the full kits, you'd end up with 12 hooks that you possibly can't use, plus all the darning needles, etc. While I do like the idea of getting to choose a project from the 3 options, I feel like kits with a specific singular pattern are a much better idea. I know most yarn companies offer these, which is great, and maybe I might look into trying one of those next.
      I think maybe these full kits might be a great gift for someone wanting to try crochet, but probably not a great option for seasoned crocheters.

    • @nefraial
      @nefraial 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think these kits are great for a beginner crocheter either. It's quite expensive and my experience with beginner crocheters is to provide something simple and relatively cheap with half a dozen colours or more. Where they are getting the fun of changing colours, learning to do so while creating something simple and quick to finish, and saving some money by not having to buy all the colours separately in full balls where they end up with a lot of unused yarn that might be a waste for them if they find out that crochet is not going to be an ongoing hobby for them.
