No matter the level, it's an effing emotional rollercoaster that all runners probably go through. You run almost twice as fast as I do but I can beat myself up over a crap session just the same. I guess it's part of the journey. Happy Birthday 🎂
Happy Birthday 🎉 Your videos are an inspiration to many people, thank you! One part of your videos I really like is you warming up. It's good to see how you prep before you run, very helpful 👍👊
Happy Birthday! These videos are awesome and have helped me a ton with my running. Love the commentary and the transparency into the rest of your life and training!! enjoy it!
You are so blessed having peaceful places like that to run……I live in Shanghai and have to battle the chaos of those busy city streets for my running crossing roads and dodging scooters left right and centre 😂. Happy birthday bro.
couldn't agree more w/ protecting your training! if you get into a good rhythm week to week, don't fuck it up by doing too much, trying too hard or beating yourself up if you have a bad day. earlier in my training this year, the price of good sessions was not feeling my best on easy days and long runs and i didn't fight it. eventually the focus shifted to quality long runs and thus the sessions weren't always bang on. priorities. if everything is rainbows and sprinkles all the time, what the fuck are you really doing!?
Stephen I love ur thumbnail on this video 😄 you gave me a smile. Which I so needed in these post-USA el..ection times. Thank you C Ont 🇨🇦 & 🎂 happy belated birthday 🎉 😊
I decided to do my Tuesday intervals on the treadmill cos it was so windy outside. I looked up the mph for a treadmill at 1 degree incline to match my outdoor interval pace (4 × 6 mins on this one) and i struggled ALOT and had to turn the speed down. I felt gutted. Next Tuesday i will do the intervals outside and try to vet that momentum back
Thank you! Yes, probably one of my better long runs! Trying to work on capacity building and have to say that I see the difference with some of these beyond 20 mile runs!👍👍
Hi Stephen, you are sharing your knowledge- that’s great sir. I have a question, i have fatpad impingement in my left knee for 2yrs now but would like to do 5km run, how can i do that?
Thank you good tips all that, suck times sessions definitely suck. Then some mega ones were I think bloody hell how the how did do that. So many things can make or break a session or race Im slowly learning that, knowing all the factors. But guess no way in hell can control all those things. Nice one happy birthday for then ✊
Happy belated Birthday and thanks for your insights. I have another question that I feel is neglected or not so often touched so far, how much do see the importance of a healthy gut when running? Do you do something to support it?
I failed a session on Saturday, then tried it again Sunday - failed again. Felt like I should just quit because Im a weak failure 😂 But I was back on track today and will keep the momentum going 😊
😅 your not a failure. You just asked for more from your body than you were prepared for. To get faster you need to be faster than maintenance, ideally as fast as you can recover from. Only on raceday you need to be as fast as your body can possibly be, and faster than you can recover from.
It is amazing how a rough day whether just in life or a bad session last run can affect us, why we let it means we are human and care a lot about our running... get you ass back in the GYM scully...
Happy birthday, Stephen🎉
Finished my first marathon today. 4h20. Was going for
Well done still mate

Can I ask if you train in Carbon trainers, and if so how often?

As a 21 minute 5k runner
Can marathon training improve my 5k,10k and hm times ?

Sorry for question...In what heart zone by % would you recommend for Base training to build base
