- Sridevi was and remains on of the biggest superstars that the country has ever seen. Her poise, talent, that smile and the elegance with which she conducted her five decade long career made Sridevi one of the most cherished stars in India. Sridevi has got several accolades to her name and as we remember the beautiful lady on what would have been her 56th birthday, we take a walk down memory lane with some of her best Filmfare Awards moments.

Sridevi was so unlucky when it came to filmfare awards. She missed out in 87 and 88 for Nagina and Mr. India with there being no awards,despite being given a special award for the two later on.
She also got the shorthand when two of her best movies Chandni and Chaalbaaz got nominated together. She definately deserved awards for Judaai and English Vinglish.
The most good thing i like in Sridevi mam is that she never showed attitude you can say a kind of boasting and you can find it as being a private person she bowed before reciveing the award salute to wonderful lady only Sridevi ❤️😊

Filmfare definitely missed out on awarding her amazing performances in Gumrah, Laadla, Judaai , English Vinglish (yes really) and Mom. And that would always remain as a black spot on Filmfare s credibility.
And unfortunately for her, FF awards were not held during the two of the best years of her career. 86 and 87. Nagina and Mr India. And the damage control award given for the same in 2012 was quite badly handled. Hope FF can upload her winning moments for Meendum Kokila and Kshana Kshanam too. 🙏

Devi Singh -she has won 3 or 4 film fares down south as well. If you ever want to watch the talent in Sridevi, watch her Tamil Movies, the ones directed by veterans like K Balachander, Bharati Raja & Balu Mahendra. In south she was always considered more for her talent than beauty.

I haven’t watched many of Sri’s Hindi movies as I would like to remember her performances in Tamil movies that were exceptional. If you see Tamil movies like 16 vayathinile, moondru mudichu( at 18 years she plays step mother to Rajini), her Hindi movie performances are only 10%. She wasn’t offered roles for her caliber except English Vinglish.
I am Tamil myself.. as you said she was given bigger roles in moondru Mudichu being her first film as a herione.. But you cant simply say her performance in Hindi films are 10% because you havent seen many hindi films in the first place.. there are many best performance films in her career which centers around her..even the film has the female name such as Chandini, Nagina....which was not common in the late 1980s in Tamil film industry to have the herione character as movie names..and there are films like Lamhe.. Kudha hawa.. Laadla..and Mr.India the film which infact exposed her entire talent in a single film..dancing skill.. her comedy.. emotions..fun...her naughtiness..and expressions..and even her sensuality.
SRK and Saif should have called upon her on stage and should have given the awards with usual respect & etiquettes. It looked like as if they were doing some joke with Sridevi.
It was very unfortunate for Sridevi that filmfare awards were not organised in 1986 & 1987.
