- Here is an update for you guys on the Child Checkmate system on 50. As on now it is plugged in and working. The next thing to figure out is why it does not talk. The brake pedal input also is not currently working.
If you have any suggestions or comments please feel free to comment or email me!

Noah You Need The Ep2 Plugged In For The Speaker To Talk
At 1:18 you can see the first-gen Child Check-Mate module. This bus has not one, not two, but THREE different Child Check-Mate systems in it. Wow!
I know! I was shocked when I found it originally.

@@BusBoy501ProductionsLooks A Lot Like A First Gen Than Either A Second Gen, Third Gen, Or Fourth Gen.
The reason why Theft-Mate went off is because the motion sensor was not plugged in. I've toyed around with the units I own and have found that it failsafes to always being triggered when the motion sensor is disconnected. I always wondered how your bus barn bypassed that, turns out they just put in an EP1 and disconnected power from the EP2.
Leave the EP2 plugged in! BTW I love your bus!! I use to ride on an ic ce. Special needs school bus when I was in school!!
Noah just make sure you order a new speaker and the Theftmate with all the updates then you have all the new stuff which would be cool.
I think you should keep the EP2 plugged in
The speaker may have a bad connection. In that case, it's time for a new one. I have a spare if you would like it, I'll even include the wiring harness.
That is much appreciated, I’m going to toy around with a few other ideas first. I will get in contact with you once I’ve tried those other things.
@@BusBoy501Productions Busmaster99 can help you this is amazing. Im so happy
Strange how they wired it up to both the EP1 and EP2. And from what it sounds like, the brake input contactor switch might have gone bad. Regarding the two bundled up wires, the Black cable with the two prong plug looks like it would go to the speaker. The three prong gray wire looks like it would go to the motion sensor of the system.
I did get pictures of the wiring harness for the child check system aboard my bus for you, just need to know where to send them.
You can send them to BusBoy501productions@gmail.com
@@BusBoy501Productionssoon as I get the chance, I'll send them through. Though my bus is a 2006 CE200, the wiring harness itself should be broadly similar to 50.
@@BusBoy501ProductionsOH, and depending on the variant of the EP2 with the speaker, it would either say "Please sit down, someone will be with you shortly" or "Authorities have been notified". The "Warning, check for unauthorized entry" wouldn't occur until after the key was put into the ignition and put into either the ACC position, or the Run position.
@@josephbugaj8149That isn't dependent on that. It's dependent on whether or not the EP2 has Theft-Mate, which most of them do. There is a one hour period from when the ignition is turned off before it changes over to the scare tactic.
@@BusMaster99 At work, I’ve only gotten the scare tactic one very few times, most times it’s the first one, before putting the key in. My bus I own didn’t come with the speaker.
Is it possible if you contact your Navistar dealership that Lebanon bought the bus from to see if those prong wires go to the checkmate sound? I suppose the dealership they bought it from might know.
Does 45 have the brake input sound that you were talking about
It does not, the older system doesn’t have that on it.
The brake input does not sound unless you insert the 5-pin wire harness for the EP2. The speaker doesn't work without its 2-pin harness plugged into the EP2. Also your Double Check/Theft-Mate is automatically alarming because you do not have the 3-pin harness for the motion sensor plugged into the EP2, nor do you actually have the motion sensor plugged into its base, which trips the failsafe in the EP2.
@@212Elevators As of now everything is pulled in. I got the brake input to work but currently the speaker is the only thing not working.
@@BusBoy501Productions If the whole speaker doesn't work even when the 2-pin harness is fully connected and you're sure the speaker connector assembly is plugged in, contact Child Check-Mate Systems, Inc. for a new speaker.
