I was actually there that day, he did not open the Bible not once I was there to get fed and still felt empty. That’s when I knew then this church is a feel good church. (When I first got truly saved I went to Lakewood in the beginning)

We are all called to share the gospel and if you are a mature Christian needing to feed on the meat of the Word don't look down on those who are feeding on the milk of the Word. Only the Lord knows our hearts and Palesa's heart may be wanting Christ, but is blinded by preachers like Osteen, thinking this rubbish is the Gospel when it's not.
I was in an apostate church and didn't even realize it at the time. I had a gut instinct that this was all wrong, but I didn't know better. They preached the health and wealth thing in a very subtle way, and did encourage us to read the Word, but clouded our judgement to interpret it the way they saw it (don't ask me how...I'm actually not gullible, but I was a teenager then, and I was just a kid). They promise some of the blessings we may (or may not) receive from God without actually seeking God - just the blessings. But that's not seeking God at all. When I realized, it was as though someone had pulled the rug out from under my feet, and I only realized because The Lord suddenly opened my eyes to the deception I was in. How? Through something a Christian said - GENTLY - that made me think, and I asked the Lord for an answer. Wow! I was in shock for several days.
But then I also remembered He'd said in His Word, "Come out of her, my people." In Rev. 18:4, and I realized what I'd really been spared from. Some might have lost their faith, but I had a deep desire for The Lord despite all that baloney preaching and guilt-tripping, and now, 20 years later, I still believe, because He gave me that grain of a mustard seed back then and opened my eyes. That's when I could really give Him control of my life and no longer feel sad and rejected by God, thinking if I wasn't wealthy or "powerful", something is wrong with me. Yeah, there's a LOT wrong with me - I'm a sinner. Every day I fall short of the mark, don't you too? We all do. That's why Christ had to die and rise to save us. Not for the "blessings of the world", but for His glory.
So don't be hard on those who may not know the Word. I didn't either. A gentle question made me re-think everything; an accusation wouldn't have. They asked, "Is this really milk, or something toxic maybe? What is the real desire of your heart? Are you being taught that? Or to pursue something else?"
Be gentle. I wasn't so much in my reply to Palesa and may have done more harm than good, I don't know.

The hate for religion is kind of sickening. What’s really ironic is, so many you feel no problem criticizing Christians, but don’t say a damn thing about the Jewish or Muslims… two religions way more obsessive and cult like in modern times. I think it’s a fear, a private fear many of you have of the teaching’s of Christianity and how not allot phases them. You call a Muslim something and hell, they may threaten your life, but you call a Christian something and they normally turn the cheek. If anything, that’s how we all should be. So, even if you’re an Atheist or another religion, you could probably learn a little from Christianity. As far as their take on the LGBT, well allot of them get that wrong. In fact, Jesus loved all people and preached acceptance, so any Christians who believe otherwise have been reading the Bible wrong it seems. The Old Testament was against same sex relationships, you better believe it, but Jesus was the New Testament and what Christianity is based around. In fact, it’s the Jewish religion that mainly follows the Old Testament, it’s almost like the two religions have it backwards. I don’t know why any Christian would live by the Old Testament over the New Testament. Things were different before Jesus, the beliefs and teachings were different, but he changed things and on that he built HIS CHURCH.
