@@MonstrousMaker lol preach - i've spent about 10 hours on a build book that doesn't even have any pictures or info yet, just creating and binding a book with cool pages and stuff :p
Cardboard is really one of the best and inexpensive materials to use for props!! I've made two things so far, three if you count a prototype, with the majority of stuff being cardboard!
i made fishbones head out of sparkling water cardboard and popcorn bucket and cooking aluminum pans from the dollar store lol the dollar store is to cosplay what the thrift store used to be for fashion
You could've gotten rich selling all that tp.. But this looks really cool, it even moves too! I've been wanting to try to make something with carboard but I can never get myself to try. Great work.
Thanks for watching! I love working with cardboard. I think its cause I don't ever worry about the cost of it and it takes the pressure off :) Give it a shot sometime! So many different types of cardboard out there to play with.
I'm so glad this was useful for you! Thanks for watching, and hopefully subbing :D I am working on more Jinx cosplay at the moment so more videos are coming
It took me about 3 months to make and film/edit everything. I started a new job in the middle of it, so it slowed down the process due to that. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
@@AfurryBrownie Thanks for watching and I hope this video helped you! I try to mostly use recycled materials, because Cosplay/Art/Crafts should not have to break the bank, just have to get a little creative :D
God I absolutely adore your videos, the pieces you're making are so well done and the video editing is great too! And therefore I have to say that this video is INCREDIBLY UNDERRATED. Great craft like always. You earned a sub!
Hey! Thanks for watching! Honestly, I tend to just eyeball everything as I make it. My best advice is to start with a piece that you know the scale of, and work backwards. I always use one piece to reference another piece and it helps me keep the proportions somewhat accurate. And if they arent, its art! Have fun :D
Im so in love with this and will try it too probably- Im very late to the party but may i ask what material you used for the purple back-? Was that special foam? Also the thing you put above it to make it more round confused me so much 😭 You also nailed the coloring, for some reason i never find paint thats actually working 😢 Do you have prefered paint? 😮 Sorry for asking so much but the things you make are just so cool it makes me want to learn sm💫
Thanks for watching! Absolutely make it! Find one thing to reference for size, and then just work back from that! The foam was actually corner protectors that came when I bought my couch haha you could probably use spray foam and then carve it down (and super cheap) I've been really like folklore paints, which I got from Michaels - the opacity is great and a little goes a long way, and their colours are really nice.
HEYY! Amazing video and love the whole patience with this. I do have a question, perhaps it's too late, but how much of each material did you use? I wanna do one exactly like yours but I'm afraid I'll spend too much or too less.
Oooo I didn’t 100% keep track, but I did store up cardboard boxes ( probably too much ) so I had lots of options and extra. I used maybe 1-2 foam core boards I got from the dollar store, and then glue hot sticks. Always get more glue than you think :) excited to see what you make!!
Love this video! Thinking about trying to follow it. But it looks so difficult. And you`re a sculptur. It makes me give up before I try. XD Do you have patterns?
Hi Gabrielle! Thanks for watching! You can just use more cardboard in place of foamcore - like thicker shipping box cardboard - only thing you might want to do is cap the ends of it so you don't see the cardboard grain. Hope that helps!
I havent had any issues - but there are some areas that I would reinforce if I were to make it again, like the handles and maybe less fraction on the turning mechanics.
I think about 10-15, but you could incorporate more or less! If you have normal card stock (cereal boxes) you can just try rolling and taping that into tubes!
@@MonstrousMaker oo I made one too following some steps of yours and taking my own leadership and it looks pretty close to yours but it hard to get the actual reference art so I added some other stuff I found it had on the show and took my own creative ideas to add to it like the scribbles and it was a fun project mine measures 28 cm wide and 107 length
Thanks for watching! I'd have to rebuild it in order to do that and I was trying to keep it cost-effective for most viewers, but its something to keep in mind for future builds :)

P.s. make video about fishbones!)

LET ME KNOW, I NEED: WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE WHITE STYROFOAM-LIKE MATERIAL YOU USED?
OMG ! This will help me so much with my cosplay. 😭 but how many toilet paper rolls did you use ?
I lost count :D eat lots of burritos
Can you use contact cement? And hot glue instead of the other
Possibly? Try testing it out on some scraps of cardboard, and see what happens! Come back and let me know how your build went :D
There's no foamcore in my country or atleast on my area, what can be a possible alternative for foamcore? Thankyou!

heyyy can you tell me how thick that white foam is? I have to buy mine from somewhere
1/4 inch roughly
How long did it take you??? It looks sick 😲😲
I worked on it in the evenings and weekend off and on (I would get sick of it haha) over the course of about 3 months.
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE BIG TOOTHPICK YOU USED?
Woah
What did you use for the "end piece"?
It was a piece of dense foam used for packaging that I had when my new couch was delivered hahaha
How many toilet paper rolls would you say I would need?
Could u tell us the length and width of the whole machine gun? please
34" long and about 9" wide
