  • This is a fruit tart recipe which I made with ripe mangoes. You can use other fruits instead of mangoes. Just remember to put a glaze on top of the fruits to prevent discoloration.

    Another good recipe Chef Rose, can I use half butter n half shortening in d dough ? Your reply will be appreciated.Thnk you.

    May I ask if the shortening you used is Crisco? Or another brand? Also, if you use shortening, can you add a drop or 2 of butter flavor? Thank you and regards. ❤

      I use Magnolia Primex Shortening. You can use Crisco if that is what is available to you. You can replace half of that with butter but butter is more difficult to handle specially when your kitchen is warm. If you live in a cold country then butter is okay to use. Use cold water if you are using butter.

      No need to grease the pan because the pie crust is high fat already. Remember to use cold water and chill dough before rolling out if using butter. Thank you for watching!
