What's amazing about Persona 5 is that it didn't require an update to play, everything on the cart. admittedly came as a shock. Future updates will come, but nothing that would be necessary to beat the game.
Normally vanillaware games stay cheap but this is the first one to make it onto a Nintendo console other than muramasa on the Wii. It could go either way
yeah Ys 8 was so hard to get...regret not getting it on cart initially....why I got Ys 9 on cart. I lucked out in the Summer, I was at pawn shop, and was doing trade ins, and they had a copy in great shape, so i got it, with 20 left over (Got more then I thought would get.
I don't think Atlus or JRPG's in general get so expensive because of the print number. Persona 5 is one of the best selling games and the physical copy is still more expensive than most other used games on PS3 and PS4. I think the big reason why most JRPG's hold value is because people who buy them don't sell them but keep them for a very very long time, is not like sport games what are disposable, most JRPG fans have a deep bond with they games and this is why those games sky rock in price.
Same reason Mario games hold value. They may not skyrocket in prices, but they rarely dip down. They are treasured by the people who actually play them. I would never trade in a mainline Mario game.

Wild Guns Reloaded is another one because I have had the game for over three years and it's still at version 1.0 so after all this time I would imagine that the game is complete on cart.
With mario rabbids I noticed at the store they were clearance out the game and replacing it with the version that is only a digital version code lol so maybe that might affect it too
Nice video, I just don't agree with the statement that in a few years the games will all be digital, sooner or later buyers will understand that digital games are basically rented games, in fact, even today there have already been controversies with the AC on steam (i think), also the closing of PS digital stores, I believe it is even more likely that most digital buyers will switch to physical versions than vice versa.
I got lucky I picked up XC2 for $40 used and like not even a month later it got really rare to find 😂 and even more luck I got Xenoblade Chronicles X for like $10 before the pandemic and now it’s going for like $54
Not in the uk Im not sure if it’s because of the cost of living crisis or just because it’s suddenly available in mass in the gaming market in general but it’s pretty damn cheap now which annoys me to this day as I paid a bit over full price for it when I got my copy. Still I’m not to angry as I finally have the entire XB collection on switch physically now all except the awaited XB chronicles X which will hopefully come to switch sometime soon.
I think you forgot to mention Pokémon Mystery dungeon Rescue team DX and Bayonetta 1 physical Copy on the switch. With that being said I might pick up Nier Automata.
"The summoning files" sorry, I probably find this funnier than it is😆 One of the best vn i ever played, highly recommendation for this one and the first somnium files too
I've been collecting games since the NES days. Rare games base on my opinion are games no one talk about in present and current games. Xenoblade is in no way ever be rare. It's too popular for the Switch like ff7. Yes, collect that game but don't forget all the not so popular game no one pay attention. Majority of rare games come at the end of that generation. Why? No one pay attention to it and move to newer platforms. Koudelka, Magic Knight Rayearth and etc. Both of these games I have and bought really cheap like $5 through $20. Koudelka is more than $300 while MKR is over $1000.
I stumbled upon Shiren the Wanderer by accident when looking for Metroid Vania/Dungeon crawlers. That game is something special. It was one of the earliest rouge likes in the truest sense of the word and genre. It’s definitely worth every penny. I got it as a download though not physical.
@@worldsboss Yeah I'm also from Europe, I even imported the Japanese physical releases of Ace Attorney Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice aka Ace Attorney 5 and 6 called in Japan.
Trails from zero went real quick you were right on the $ with that bro, got azure but didn’t get zero and now I regret it cause ima end up paying like 100$
It looks like nier automata is becoming rare in my town. I don't have any evidence but I believe that companies are producing less copies of physical games. Because it looks like a lot of stores Walmart, besybuys and even GameStop have less copies of newer games. Now I'm sure the pandemic had a part of it but I also think they get more money from digital games do they want to get more sales from those.
I agree partly... this is mostly for Collector's, if they wanna own physical. Sure, go ahead and buy. Im there with you guys. But, non collector's, there is always the digital way. I think the era of games not being released on digital is gone, at least for the last gen to the current gen. Lots of games now are available on digital even before the physical release, and cheaper even. The real question is, will there be more people collecting that certain game, especially since digital copies are available, it will lessen the amount of people that would collect physical if they have played it as a digital copy. I've have played several games digitally through PC and I personally did not want to play them again on the console versions, just because I already played them. Even though I think they will be rare as a physical, it did not make me wanna buy those games at all, even at $30. Just my 2 cents. Personally I will collect the RPGs, especially Atlus ones, as they do not Remake their games... at the moment. Only time will tell.
This might be an obvious question.. but do you suggest not opening these games? I play everything I buy obviously, but should we keep them sealed? For example, I have Digimon survive on PS4, but got the switch version and have kept it sealed.
I can't find a physical copy of Persona 5 strikers switch. In my country atleast. Also decided to skip Xenoblade 3 as I haven't yet finished 1 and 2 which are both on my shelf. 😅
Pocky and Rocky Remastered for the Switch is hitting $30 and up and I was lucky to score a used one for $25. Also they still got new copies of The World End Club Deluxe edition new for for $47.99. Horihuge and Friends for the Switch is $27.90 and climbing. The price is going up on these games and these were ones that you mentioned before.
