Then in 1988-1994 there was the Nagorno Karabakh War between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In 1923 the Bolsheviks gave Nagorno Karabakh (known in Armenian as Artsakh) to Azerbaijan. At this time Artsakh was 95% Armenian. By the end of the Soviet-era with the colonization of the region the Armenian percentage had dropped to 75%. The Armenians of Artsakh wanted to be reunited with Armenia, when they voted democratically for this, the Azerbaijanis began to massacre Armenians and expel them again. The Sumgait Pogrom and the Kirovabad Pogrom in 1988, the Baku Pogrom in 1990, Operation Ring in 1991, the Shelling or the Siege of Stepanakert (Artsakh's capital city) from 1991-1992, and the Maragha Massacre in 1992. We can be friends when these turkic nations realize that they should respect the natives of the land aka Armenians.

Until the age of 15 i was thinking that we were an arabian family living in syria 🇸🇾... until mom told me that my father and grandparents are actually Armenians.... After the massacre in Turkey, my grandfather who was just a child escaped to syria and lived there in arabian family, he changed his name and religion (to islam) and destroyed anything that proves he was armenian... he married an armenian woman called Mariam (her name was Maria and also changed it) and lived there .... After i knew this story that my dad was always hiding from us (i don't know why), i started to search about the armenian culture and language and i really loved it so much, i started learning armenian and trying to communicate with other armenian friends, also started thinking to go back to armenia in the future and live there like my grandparents..... As armenians, what's your opinion about this story? would i still learning armenian and planning to go back? Or just cancel it, i really loved my armenian culture and language..
