I've been shopping for a personal car lately I've only ever owned a 94 Corolla and a 2002 Malibu and this has been running through my head constantly while the sales guy pitches all these useless features.
Love my Mack so far. Like you said, they get the job done. I got my cxu last July at with 478 on the clock for 28500. Had I know what the future was going to do, I would've bought another one. Solid truck so far.
Great job on the purchase. I agree that you don't need all that fancy stuff. It needs to run and keep running. If it breaks, I want to be able to fix it. Thanks
We ran mack at our previous employer. And those macks hold up well. All of them have over a million miles on them. And the newer mack have 600k we have a few macks with 1.6 million miles.i would but a mack im not a fan of the ride. And the issue with the parts and it being a specialty truck. Is my only issues with mack
Yes with Mack and Volvo you're almost stuck staying in dealer network for repairs, it's not a truck every shop can fix, I'm not complaining, just something for potential buyers to realize. But I love my Pinnacle it's very comfortable OTR
The dash and ergonomic layout of your truck is much better than the brand new macks that look like a transformer on the inside. I own a 2015 and much prefer it over the 2021 I drive on occasion. They've gone to blue and white dash lighting and some really wierd blue backlit switches that can strain your eyes pretty badly at night.
I do like the looks of the Macks, just not a big fan of engines that are manufacturer based, Volvo, Mack, Paccar, Navistar. Detroit being the exception to that rule.
Im interested to know, when did Volvo purchase mack , and when did or if they started combining there trucks. I remember the old macks had a horrible turning radius. I also know volvo has had a great turning radius. I like to think volvo and mack took the best things from both brands and put them into the newer Mack's.
I'd just like to know what secrets Freightliner is holding. I had a 2020 governed at 75 and I'd run that damn near whenever I could and it still would rarely see a day under 8 mpg running the midwest. Before that I drove a 2017 ProStar with a Cummins that was low 7s running 65 and now I'm in a 2022 Volvo governed at 68 and even running empty with a reefer I'd get maybe 9 if I was lucky. Usually 7.6-7.8 loaded. My Cascadia I had running empty seen 11-12mpg.
I drove a 2019 for a while and I’m pretty sure they use GPS tracking and use certain shifting patterns depending on the road. I could tell there was something smarter in that transmission computer than just checking speed and gear ratio. It would start coasting before reaching the top of the hill and limit throttle way before a steep downgrade. Also the engine seemed to be in a lower RPM for Detroit’s which keeps it efficient and so is the final drive ratio. Recently they got rid of the belt driven water pump and made it electric, removed the coolant filter housing entirely, and increased the coolant pressure for higher efficiency. The fuel pump is also much smaller and has thinner filters. What change I really liked was the exhaust filter it’s not burning half as much DEF or regens as the old trucks and that reduces fuel consumption. You don’t really notice all these changes from one year to the next but comparing a original 2008 Cascadia to a 2020 it’s a completely different truck.
Have not owned an anthem. I like the looks but we've gone to Cascadias for the fuel economy. I know 2 guys by me that have anthems...they like them but getting about 7.2 mpg. Which is good but we are doing better with the Cascadias. I do like Mack... Not knocking them. Our pinnacle's were good trucks
Hi, I would like to get a one on one course. My cousin just bought a truck, wants me to dispatch and do ALL the paperwork. I new with this, if you could please help me out. Thank you
Had 2012. Actually loved the MP8 just didn’t like the proprietary software. My emission sucked, but it was when they first came out with DEF. I use to get 8 to 8.5. Mine had the huge storage above my head.. loved that. Profile of the truck was skinner and not as tall as a conventional which I found weird. I really enjoyed driving my Mack and wish I never sold it.
I cant disagree more with you on the anthem, i think its the ugliest things mack ever put out, and im a mack tragic i quite like the pinnacle and the granite but the new anthem is a step backwards from what drivers want imo

I always figured a man of your means would drive a Kenworth w900L super truck icon with a Murphy bed. No green apu?
Stay tuned
I love my greenapu
For me less is more! Less options means less things can go wrong or need to be fixed.

I had the Mack Vision and loved it...very good driving vehicle.

Thanks for the honest review, good and bad. I try to keep it simple.
Thanks for showing us the poverty spec queen of the fleet. Keep it simple 👌

Crank windows are good. Less stuff 2 go wrong 😊 I miss the air wipers on old freightliner.s
Hmm! OK then it seems that you picked a good one just how I felt when I bought my century class back in '03! #keepontruckin 😉

inteeresting recording~farewell- DIY! =)
Looks like a nice truck. Don't forget where you live.
I LOVE my pinnacle
Former UPS truck? The radio looks like the same one in the 2017 Volvo I drive sometimes at work. It just has Mack written on it.
Can you please share details on the Honda generator and AC you plan to install
If I set it up I can do a video

Secret freightliner juice.

It looks good. But how’s that truck ? Is it more expensive for repairs?
no more expensive than any other
Thanks for the video. I’m looking to buy a Mack anthem 2019. Any advice you can share ?

$44k you can get a glider that last forever! Nothing to live about Mack except the bulldog on the hood. Color is cool but orange Coronado turns heads!
Can we put a bulldog on it's hood? Kinda like that
Good morning how many hp is on the Mack sir?
435
U still happy with your mack?..im thinking about buying a 2015
