The wood still my favorite movie… besides all the gang stuff the story was universal. Friday felt like a regular day. Don’t Be a Menace stands the test of time.
I agree with every movie except he got game, my husband loves that movie and I always tell him that Ray Allen cannot act but Denzel Washington hair was perfection lol and I wish you tube had an audio section for messages because I love reenacting Ray Allen voice from this movie, it was like he was pausing in between each and every word as he was turning the page of the script lol it was so funny, love your videos💜

Thank you for this video. These movies are some of my favorite movies as well. There’s one 90s basketball movie that doesn’t get talked about enough is Sunset Park. Fun facts: The dude from Drumline was also in Love Jones & Hoodlum. The Wood is the movie of my life. I was just like Mike growing up. I love coming of age movies with socially awkward characters & minus the trauma. Chris Rock was considered for the role of Smokey & Tommy Davidson was considered for the role of Ezell. I would love to see the Wayans do a parody of drug dealing movies.
I haven't seen any of these, but I've heard of some of them. What about Rush Hour? I'm surprised it isn't on here. I've only seen the first two, but Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are a RIOT! 🤣Watching outtakes of Tucker trying to speak Chinese is HILARIOUS! 😂And he screams like a girl! 😂Loved watching him in The Fifth Element, too.
Do you remember the movie that Snoop Dogg was in Urban Menace oh the wrecking crew with Snoop Dogg and I see and silk the shocker add ice t movie corrupt I can't wait to see your reviews on those
Tales From The Hood is an all time favorite. In 95 that movie gave me nightmares. I can still rewatch it now Yeah Friday that true classic. My Hispanic father in law’s favorite movie
I was surprised Friday was second until i saw the first choice 😂 the Wayans are comedic geniuses lol 👏🏽 Also so happy Tales made the list too, one of the best horror movies and is definitely underrated 💯
He Got Game was an okay film, like I got the message or whatever. It’s not a Spike Lee film I return to often. Ray Allen is not a good actor 💀, but he was handsome in the movie, so I’ll give him that.
You didn't like 'Fresh' (1994)? It starred Sean Nelson (the booty slapper) from 'The Wood', Samuel L. Jackson and Giancarlo Esposito from 'Breaking Bad'
Most people would look at Tales From The Hood as a comedy but it's actually a anthology with four vignettes that are still relevant in today's society. For example: 1. We might have police brutality still going on. 2. Child abuse is still a problem, not only that their are some children in this world that have parents who dgaf about them. 3. African Americans being discriminated. 4. Innocent people getting killed by their own folks even if it's gang related.
All good movies. I don't care for he got game tho and I definitely don't think Ray Allen's acting was up to par. Being next to Denzel made it super noticeable too.
The Wood was aight, but the plot was just basic with 3 friends reflecting on how they met, and the who smashed a girl first. No life altering scenarios and really no hood elements to it besides Stacy. I might watch this movie once or twice every few years, but I can say the soundtrack was dope. He Got Game was straight too. Sad movie, but honestly the best part of the movie was the one on one game between Father and Son.
Ray was WAYYYYYYY better than t boz bruh😂go watch belly again, then watch he got game, Ray acting is so bad that you can't get through the movie. T boz is 😂
@@ddconwaysnostalgiclounge Ive seen them both enough times. Ray Allen was just surrounded by waaaaaaay better TALENT. He had DENZEL...the ZEL pulling him out the garbage heap.... Go look up the definition and the movies that come with it. Hood movies is a whole genre. Many of the movies that are black are considered hood movies....Mane ebony is porn bruh😂😂😂WHAT!
I like the point that you made about Friday and not having trauma. I think that’s why I really couldn’t stand the movie Boyz in the Hood. Like I get that Black people have their trauma but why does it always have to be like that. Why can’t some movies just be a lesson learned so that shit kind of pissed me off so I definitely see what you’re saying about Friday
Yeah, a lot of the movies that are black classics are full of trauma. Many of them use to be extremely hard to watch😂glad to see other people can relate to how I feel
@@ddconwaysnostalgiclounge yeah I definitely can’t relate to how you feel and I don’t think that is nothing wrong with making movies with trauma in it because it gives other people a sense to understand what we go through but at the same time I feel like they’re also a lot of black achievement that we need to celebrate. And the people who are making them movies though, people love drama. I have a TH-cam channel myself and I feel like I made great content, but I feel like it doesn’t do as well because I’m talking about self improvement and I’m not talking about drama and shallow BS.. so I completely understand why people make drama movies instead of good movies but I definitely think it’s time to change the narrative and make that lane somebody has to do it.. good job with your videos. I watched tales from the hood recently (age 41) and noticed so many hidden gems i didnt pay attention to when i was re-running it in my 20s
This. I’m 5 years behind you but same
The fact that they got Samuel Monroe Jr to parody his own role was incredible.
i still say the full title of don't be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood just to be funny lmao
I cant help but to say the entire title for dont be a menace lol its part of the comedy
