In my opinion, one possible solution to the traffic congestion and pollution problems is to prohibit the use of private cars for office commute. Instead, companies should be required to provide pool buses that can transport many employees at once or employees can rely on public transport or cab services. This would reduce the number of solo drivers on the road and also lower the emissions from vehicles.

Purple line operational toh hai but no one uses that line, the stations are all empty. Agar Purple line ko at least extend karke Majherhat Railway station se connect karte toh use karte log. I regularly pass through that route, so ik the Ground reality. I hope the metro line gets extended to Majherhat Railway station at least for the regular commuters to use it effectively.
The service of Green line will definitely NOT start in December. Since it is under Indian Railways, union government will want to inaugurate the service just before the General Election 😑

I think it would have been better if we'd connected Kolkata metro and Howrah station through a high bridge, it would've given a better view to the passengers. there's nothing inside in that tunnel we can't see while passing through at least they could've used something transparent like glass or fiber type material. nonetheless is good to see Kolkata a dying city which is no longer a dying city.
Calling from Bangladesh, soon you Indians will construct the deepest metro under water thru Kolkata, but did you think over joining eastern India's 7-sisters states thru Bangladesh to West Bengal by underground rail system like English channel, reducing travel time from 10 hours to 4 hours, increasing GDP of India plus eastern India. This will benefit also Bangladesh by using this kind of TUNNEL for which surly Bangladesh will participate in cost of production of such underground rail as JOINT VENTURE.
