She is the one who made that song so noticeable how difficult it is to sing when she performed it 30 years ago while she was hitting those high notes so effortlessly in her younger days. Noeverybodydy is now afraid of performing that song because when they are singing it all they keep thinking is mariah carey's high notes. With that being said, they are afraid of messing it up. Even mariah carey who called that song her own is afraid of singing it on stage now. Patti labelle is the only one who can belt that song even in her old age. She's not afraid of nothing.
Kinda disappointing that she is still lipping to her 90’s vocals. She has a perfectly good re-recorded version from 2020 with her current vocal state. I don’t know why she keeps doing this it’s obviously lip sung. I wouldn’t care if if it was with her current voice but it’s not
Exactly hey, I think the version from her special is actually beautiful. It’s also shorter so the parts that are live would be less taxing vocally. I was hoping so bad. Maybe she’s saving those vocals for the televised special this year??
