Those who dont know, the Aaron sprite that appears when certain characters are killed is a placeholder, as the monsters killed dont have proper death sprites that turn into dust (e.g. Asgore, Lost Souls, etc.), so in the end, everyone is technically just Aaron

The reason why it does this is because if it can't find a death sprite, it'll go alphabeticially and the first one there is of course, Aaron.
Fan theory: sans is aaron, not ness, not steven, not deltarune sans, but aaron

Could it be the knock-knock joker he so often quipped with? Bewildered and curious, Sans decided to follow her. What a bizarre day it had been, already. First humans, now this?
Sans tracked the goat lady at a distance, hesitant to get involved. Before long, he came across the riverside. Everything was so quiet, save for the distant chuckles of the kids. Then, Sans came across a dust pile. Purple robes lay crumpled in the heap, marking the end of the path of paw prints in the slush. Sans’s eyelights went out. His punny friend…was dead? He dragged his hollowed gaze up just in time to witness the humans dust yet another innocent moldsmal. Realizing the peril that faced the Underground, Sans briefly considered his options. Should he hide? Should he slip away and inform Undyne and the king? Should he snatch his brother and flee the region? Then, he sighed. Boring as it was, he had a job to do. He preferred shifts when his employment required nothing from him. But, it couldn’t be easy going every day, he supposed. What an inconvenience. Better just get it over with.
Before the humans could notice his presence, an Armageddon hail of attacks rained down on them. Within mere minutes, they were liquified into a fine mushy paste. Sans observed his grisly handiwork, then merely shrugged. He was hungry. Deciding to grab some grub at Grillby’s, Sans turned and ambled towards town, humming absentmindedly to himself. What a day, what a day.

Oh god, imagine if the first encounter with Flowey was randomized too. You just fell down and you’re looking at a flower when, suddenly, Sans/Undyne shows up and tries to kill you
I do believe that the first Flowey encounter just works entirely different from a battle
But yeah, if that was possible, that'd be funny

If you think about it, basically some monsters tried to stop you instead of toriel, Sans saw later a toriel going out of the ruins to drag their childs back into the ruins and he saw you kill her and said "I guess I gotta kill them."
But really whats the chance of that happening in that exact way LOL

Those same monsters fled the battle with winks of fear and feelings of grime earlier.

I don't think the lost soul fight are actually ever coded to "end".
It's supposed to switch to Asriel Danker I think, but he's not available so it just kinda sits there.
It's like trying to finish a physical project or puzzle, but you realise you're missing like the final piece or material, you just kinda have to leave it feeling unsatisfied or smt lol.
