Recently, lots of people have been coming into my stream, to tell me to try the Warden's Law Hand Cannon in Trials. Burst Hand Cannons aren't something that I've tried too much, but I have used Crimson a fair amount and people always tell me how "Broken" Crimson is for controller players. I hopped into Trials to compare the two and figure out whether burst Hand Cannons truly are broken in Destiny. Enjoy!

Secret Jake is wardens law does not need any stability.. gun is very stable with max range. With zen moment and moving target you can allow the gun to have max range and its feels stable
Warden's Law with Kill Clip is my play. You get a kill and then 2 burst the next person and so on.
I basically full send into the weapon on Warlock using Ophidians for the extra Handling and Reload.
Its a super fun HC when you get going. Its just the first kill that takes a bit since its TTK is not the greatest out the gate at .93 needing 3 bursts to kill, once you get Kill Clip active it drops down to .57 which is in the nutty territory.
Overall its a fun weapon when you can pop off with it.

i love mine. same ttk as 120's with a bit less range. mine has smallbore, acc rounds, enlightened/perpetual, and kill clip with a range mw. two tapping with clip active is so satisfiying

This must be Bungies idea of a joke. Crimson was the flinch king forever so they made it take more flinch than any other gun in the game now.
My problem with crimson has always been consistency. When it connects, it feels like there isnt a better primary weapon in the game. But then it will full in ghost an entire burst thats completely on target. And its not a connection issue because the previous or follow up burst will connect. But when that burst ghost's, you just lose.
For controller you want a mix of range and stability it make a huge difference. Even with zen - moment stability is needed
I know most people dont really like this map, but i actually had a ton of fun in trials this weekend. Went flawless for the first time in a while.
My favorite roll is hammer, steady rounds, perpetual, zen, range mw, adept range. I tried max range rolls but it felt inconsistent, the big bumps of stability from steady, perpetual and zen makes it feel good and always crit at the longer ranges

Interesting that flinch is such an issue with Crimson. With that high a stability it should be a bit better I would think. I wonder if a higher resistance build is necessary to counteract flinch enough to make it feel good.
Warden's Law just seems so much better when compared to Crimson because the gun barrel when shooting while aiming down doesnt jump that high so you see better where you aim and if the first shot connects,the second one is more likely to connect even through flinch.
When Crimson feels like it locks you in the 3 burst animation and the barrel jumps so much that you relly more on aim assisit if anything.
I got moving target rampage on mine and it slaps. Doesn't 2 burst 10 resil with 1 stack of rampage anymore since the health changes but super forgiving with just 1 stack.
good timing seeing this video, weirdly I woke up today and wardens law popped into my head for some unknown reason as I do like that gun but not used it since it was re introduced and only have two rolls in my vault but thought "ima have a play with that later" then I look in here and see this vid...
Yup! I'm notoriously bad at remembering lyrics, and get them wrong constantly. I hear rhythm and music well, I remember that stuff for a lifetime, but lyrics escape me.

Love my PvP Warden’s Law, my 2nd most used HC after Lumina. My roll is Full Bore, Accurized Rounds, Perpetual Motion and Zen Moment with a Ranged masterwork and an Adept Range mod. It sits at 100 range and Perpetual+Zen make it so easy to stay on target!
Recently tried my Perpetual Motion + Timed Payload roll again and it felt really good for some reason. Maybe something to do with the universal recoil changes.
Can you get timed payload on Warden's Law?
I put about 400 kills on my perpetual kill clip roll. I'd take kill clip over zen moment anyway. And I have that roll too. Kill clip can blam supers down
You might try Vorpal for that specific situation although Warden's Law is a lot better for PVE, this thing melts unstoppable champions faster than Malfeasance with Vorpal and Four Time's the Charm
it's called an auditory processing issue! i also struggle to understand lyrics or things ppl say lmao. i need subtitles for any movie or tv show i watch bc otherwise i have no fucking clue what ppl are saying
Crimson comes with those two amazing perks after each kill, it also has a slightly faster TTK. All you need to do is master the upward recoil, and the only efficient way to counterbalance this in my opinion is to strafe with it.
Crimson is out classed by a lot of primaries, I've always done well with it but will never main it
Crimson was incredible on console then it was nerfed, haven't used it since. The flinch problem didnt exist before.
Crimson was a tumor, you automatically won Vs everything that didn't outrange you by 10m due to the flinch it dished out.
It's actually balanced now and you can duel it.

I don't have this issue with crimson idk what's goin on with your shots. Range is definitely an issue though I feel like the second the dropoff hits it becomes a pea shooter.
back in the day when i managed to get lunas howl... it was crimson that got me that (im a BAD pvp player)...
but since then it has gone down.. its recoil is horrible and i really cant get on with it for a long time - i feel they made the recoil and flinch much worse somewhere along the way.
so... i m not surprised you dont like crimson :)
Tarrabah or Symmetry as the energy weapon with Warden’s?
Crimson was my first exotic weapon I got when I first joined destiny and I thought it was amazing and I stuck with it. But after getting so many better weapons I can’t use it. Especially in this meta. It’s almost throwing if I use it
I feel the same way with crimson, whats weird for me was when I was playing with a 60hz monitor lower framerate I am decent with Crimson but when I upgraded to 200hz I couldn't use this weird a** gun. It flinches so much.
I do believe that is why controller players love Crimson because I am a fellow controller player and aiming in PvP is trash sometimes so if you give yourself a little bit of aim assist aim at their chest and then let the kick of the gun hit their head it's easy headshots with little work you just got to pull down ever so slightly on the joystick fur optimal recoil

For me personally, any hand cannon that isn’t not forgotten feels like trash in the crucible right now. That’s how hard it is for me to put it back down. It feels so damn crazy STILL
Bruh next season any gun that isn't legacy and you can still get will be enhancable. I know yiu like NF but a wardens law with moving target an zen moment enhanced is gonna be a monster next season
You have to be a controller player at sub 100 fov.
No hate I'm stingy about a NF cause i consider it the hardest gun to ever get in d2 due to the OG gatekeeping at 4500-5500 with the horrid matchmaking but at high FOv they are shit..
Nf is usable due to zen moment at least.

Personally making the HC's burst really loses what can make a HC godtier, the ability to peakshoot. Having a burst weapon would impact this a lot
Exactly. They are basically just low zoom pulse rifles but Crimson also has less range than a decently rolled 140. It maxes out at 31.5 with the catalyst.
I always used this in pvp. Not every game but i like it.

Crimson got a nerf to the amount of flinch it caused in the last weapon update around Into the Light. It used to be amazing on console but im assuming its nerf has caused it to become to hard to be consistent with.
Absolutely not. The nerfs to Precision Auto Rifles and 120s makes it a demon in the right hands. If anything, I can tell that Crimson is messing with their aim clearer.
Honestly, even on console, it's better to just use a 140 and learn to master it.
Crimson doesn't allow for peak shooting. It's good but will lose to a skilled 140 user every time imo.
Get yourself a slideshot and opening shot Rose and learn to use 140s really well and you'll never want to touch Crimson again.

I occasionally enjoy crimson on M&K, but warden's doesn't feel great, partially because of the whole 5 second reload time.

What's best way to get wardens law at the moment?
Only drops from Nightfalls, can get them from Zavala if you have them unlocked.

Definitely not broken but does feel great. Probably one of my favorite pvp weapons but as a not sweaty I can tell you taking it into trials isn't gonna net free lighthouse it's not THAT good. Reload even with mods is meh and low mag hurts when up against back to back opponents
