Thanks Richard for the creek fishing episode! My young boys and I always look forward to your videos, we watch them together and then talk about how we can use your techniques when we fish together. Your channel has really helped my boys learn to appreciate the fish, big and small for their beauty and the experience. Thanks again 👍🏻
Richard, great channel , you stand out from the crowd bud, you teach us and know what your doing, as a TH-cam creator my self I knw how much blood sweat and tears go into producing videos Thank you for your time
Mr. Richard...first off, you're hilarious. Watching you at the start of the video was priceless. Love the content you're putting out and your humble nature. Will support you for as long as you do this.
pearly Charles I think he's getting burned out. Not being able to go to 'his' spots with out other people there. He did get hot and tired while working on that building.
Richard, you made me want to take a walk down my local creek! It's not too many hours from you, and it's great. Every time it rains enough to flood the creek out, a new variety of fish gets washed in!
When I was little,, My Grandma would take us fishing. When we got to the spot, she would get us settled in our spots then she would walk off a ways and fish by herself with just a hook, worm and sometimes a split-shot just a few feet off shore. She would ALWAYS catch the biggest fish.. We named that the Grandma rig and I still use it to this very day. She was by far the best fisherman I ever knew.
Much respect for RGTFM. He catches fish because he has confidence he’s gonna catch fish. And, by the way, this water is beautiful. Further, the history books are gonna say he made fishing so easy that aliens must have done it. Just say’n.
Green Sunfish? Dern Bama fans..that there was a Volunteer Orange sunfish,LOL Got to be stealthy to find em, in Bama...but they exist. Wait till we beat Bama..out of the hills and cricks we will come....YES I am DREAMING...could happen Love the Vids,Sir
Richard Gene is AWESOME!!!! This guy has inspired me so much that I decided to start my own channel. I hope one day I can help as many people as he has! Keep up the good work sir!
Takes me back to when I was a kid, crick fishin’ Richard, so fun! So glad to see you having this kind of fishing fun. Remember Richard, “it’s good fer ya” :-)
I am so glad to see your videos. I have learned so much. I live in an area with almost no accessible creeks or freshwater streams or lakes but you have inspired me to learn anyway about freshwater fishing. Why? Because that’s what I learned using a cane pole and bobber when I was a kid 70 years ago. Old ladies can learn new stuff too.
I have learned a lot on crappie fishing from your videos. It helped me put a few more fish in the boat this past Sunday on showing the fish a different presentation of the jigs I was using. Always look toward to your videos. Can't wait for the next one.
great show! this episode really takes me back to the early '80's, i was subsistence fishing while attending school. ate a lot of different pan fish most days but there was always another creek or branch to fish.
If I could say one thing in life that's true it would be that I no god has blessed this man the Ole machine with the hands and no how to catch fish any were on any water no one will ever be as great as you Richard I would spend my ever dollar on you....God loves you....he put you here too show us all his beautiful creation and how too enjoy it....there will never be a great like you Richard Gene you are the best in my opinion...from your Ole buddy from Hartselle Alabama sure glad I got to meet you that day and shake you hand I can always say I shook hands with a legend.....fish are not fired up just yet on my creek but when they do I want you here with me catching some good ones.....be careful out there on the waters Ole machine and we love you.....
I Love that kind of fishing. Its about being out there catching and releasing. As boy I spent a lot of time on creeks catching sunfish, rock bass ( red eyes) and what ever would bite. I had forgotten what I missed so much. Thanks for this.
Great video Elmo lol. I found a bunch of small ones under the bridge at guntersville. We are take some handicap kids out Saturday morning for the Cast For Kids. It's going to be fun like you are doing. Love you videos. 👍👍👍👍
I call fishing weightless, fishing naked. Lol. Panfish love the natural presentation & like hitting it on the fall. In clear water, if you can't see your worm set the hook. Sometimes, I'll add a split shot & see if I can catch a bigger panfish off of the bottom. I have caught more of a variety of panfish off off the bottom, if you can get it past the Bluegills. Lol.
We call them rock bass, they have a bigger mouth but looks like a bluegill, they don't grow much bigger than a gill and they will chase a lure. I live in E. ST LOUIS ILL, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. I ENJOY YOUR SHOW you remind me of my dad, just like you we'd go fishing 2or 3 times a week, he would have all kinds of sayings and you have that touch, good fishing brother

Congratulations, beautiful *video.* Have a very successful week! Hugs and good fishing.👍🎣🐋🐠🐟🐬
You’re still the best my friend. Me and a buddy went wading creeks last year and of course I slipped on the rocks and face planted in the creek and my buddy asked me why was I doing push ups in the water! Great times and fun. God bless you and yours 🙏. Go Big Blue 🏀💙
So when was the last time anyone watching this great channel actually ran out of bait? That just goes to show you how good Gene actually is at fishing. I've seen him run out of shad while bass fishing too! Thanks for the videos!!!
I always use a slip jig type setup when fishing with worms/night crawlers 2 #8's about 6 to 8 inches apart and with the worm head up seems to give a great presentation and fish will strike it every time.
That's r.gene for you just as tickeld on a creek as if he was pulling bass out of the lake also great tip on staying low so as not to spook fish it can mean the difference in catching or not also you mentioned trying not to let the fish swallow your bait if that happens cut the line as close as you can to the hook it gives the fish the best chance to survive
Nothing but rain in middle Tennessee.... I've been tying my own Crappie and Bluegill jigs. I'm not as good as Mr. Perry , but I've gotten better at it.
I think that fish you didn’t know the species was a Warmouth Sunfish, also called a Warmouth Bass. Lit me tell you I am envious of all the great fishing spots you have. I’d be in heaven just to have access to that creek.
Love your videos Richard. I watch and re-watch all the time and learn something different every time. At the end of this one you show the fly tying vise you were given. You commented that you clamp the head in the vise, when in fact you clamp the bend of the hook in the vise, either point up or down. Which ever is easier for what you are doing. Good luck, and keep up the good videos. Thank you a lot.
I love to fish for bream of any kind. The only difference is I love the use a fly rod . To me it's the best and I can put it in places you can't reach with a rod and reel.
Anybody else binge watching Mr. Gene while were in lockdown due to COVID-19?
Covid is bs it was all about corruption and control. 😡😡😡
This is no question, the best fishing channel on the old tube. Appreciate all the effort it takes to make these videos.
Just his funny demeanor reminds me of ol Ernest P. Worrell.
Richard could probably use a piece of concrete with a hook made from a tree branch and catch more fish than me.
Richard, I’d like to invite you up to South Carolina for some red eye, sunfish and trout fishing on the Chattooga and Chauga rivers.
I heard he caught a 30lb flathead with his anchor
I feel the same but me and my brother used to hook em all day long when we were kids.
Haha, yup.
@@cris31869 if Richard can't make it...:)
Thanks for explaining your techniques, means more to me than just watching fish being caught one after one.
Thats awesome, glad to hear it! Nothing like some fishing with dad :)
This comment is awesome 😊👍

You're so funny Mr. Gene..you put a smile on my face today. Thanks
pearly Charles I was wondering where you would go
Angela Sheppard, I'm worried about The Old Fisherman. Have you heard anything??
pearly Charles I think he's getting burned out. Not being able to go to 'his' spots with out other people there. He did get hot and tired while working on that building.
@@angelasheppard7197Thanks Angela
I really enjoy watching you catch fish. You really love fishing, and it’s not about trying to catch the big un. We need more folks like you
Richard, you made me want to take a walk down my local creek! It's not too many hours from you, and it's great. Every time it rains enough to flood the creek out, a new variety of fish gets washed in!
Your the best Richard...You are real with no phoniness about you.

Best fishing channel ever
Looks like a great creek to go have a couple of hours of fun fishing. Thanks for posting the video.

Keep bluegill Richard and freeze them. Keep the bluegill for catfish and bass fishing 🙂
The thumbnail alone got a like out of me. 😂
Great fun going fishing with you!!
8:30 looks like a green sunfish/bluegill hybrid...got the fins and shape of a green sunfish with a bluegill color pattern

Enjoy these type of videos, I’m a panfisherman myself like the multiple species

Love your channel! I get so much joy from watching how much you love fishing. I tell every new fisherman I come across about your channel.
You are the Best!!
Ain’t many creeks in Southern California, but the couple near me sure are fun!!! Keep the great videos coming!!!!
Nothing but rain in middle Tennessee....

I catch bluegills for catfish bait when I can't net any gizzards. It makes catfishing twice as fun!
Keep'em coming Richard and good luck to ya!
That blue gill is good eating right there
Another great one Richard that's the thing about fishing you can make it as simple as you want to like you say it's a sport 2nd to none God bless
Love these creek videos

Thanks for another great video. My 2 little boys and me love watching you!!!
Great video Richard love that creak fishing nice job God bless you and your family Richard
That’s a very healthy creek system. Plenty of oxygen and food for those panfish to get that large in such skinny water.
Another great video, Richard! Simple, fun and takes me back to the younger years! Thanks and keep them coming!
Great fishermen and a great guy..
I like to watch your videos I really like to fish
Machine I think that was a Longear Sunfish. The gill flap is elongated giving it it's name. Fun video, getting back to basics.
Awesome informative Video experience 👏 Y'alls
Keep the good times rolling! Awesome videos!
I enjoy your videos , great time fishing, thank you for sharing.
I go creek fishing all the time it is alot of fun an ya never know what ya gonna catch with worms
Great video Richard. The worm hunt had me hooked and it just got better from there. Keepum comin.
That fish you caught that you didnt know is an ozark bass. Looks similar to a warmouth. I catch them alot in a creek not far from where i live
I love to fish for bream of any kind. The only difference is I love the use a fly rod . To me it's the best and I can put it in places you can't reach with a rod and reel.
My fishing hero "Richero". Love your stuff
Richard you should try a little hand fishing catfish sometime..
He’s got it, and Iv got him.. such a beast
Love this reminds me of my child hood days fishing with my dad Thinks. Do you cover the point of the hook when you only hook the worm one time.
Dang Richard you sniffing that grass made me nervous you find some doggy doo!
perch jerk'en is lots of fun
Those first couple fish you caught were Redbreast Sunfish.
looks like a good place to catch bait!
Awesome creek fishing.
