Absolutely amazing, well done at explaining everything. God bless the men and women who built this beautiful country we call home. God bless America 🇺🇸 our home sweet home
I am so impressed by the history of this project and the courage of its builder that I hope I will be able to see this bridge up close. I will try to get a closer look at it
The engineers back then are on a different level; everything was hand drawn and visualized in there head. Plus everything was hand calculated, compared to now we; have all kind of computer simulation software.
I can really respect Washington for working with them . I cannot say much more cause this the only video I seen about him and the bridge but seems like a boss I would work for
I have read David McCullough's "The Great Bridge" which goes into great--sometimes torturous detail about the construction. There is no way to catch all of the astonishing details of its construction. What I did not know--and it is so terribly Brooklyn-like--was everyone terrified to cross it in a panic from the reports that the bridge might fall down. I think it made perfect sense that it took PT Barnum and his circus walking across the bridge to give the green light that the bridge was solid. If it could stand up to pacaderms, it could hold someone's fat sister Sue and her even fatter family. I personally consider the PT Barnum story the best of them all!! Fine work! Thanks for brightening my day, too! 💯
Thank you for this awesome presentation. ❤ As Americans, I think we often times forget our own achievements. We need stuff like like this to remind us of what we're capable of.
This is one reason Roebling was the best bridge builder in the World ! The Brooklyn Bridge is more famous , than its older sister (16 years older) , but she is still a beauty to the Cincinnati area residents . They know theyre about home when she pops into view at the bottom of "The Cut in the Hill" !
"The Brooklyn Bridge is America's most iconic structure" *The Golden Gate Bridge, Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, Hoover Dam, Empire State Building, Pentagon, Chrysler Building, White House and Hollywood Sign all need to have a word with you in private.*
Walked this bridge in 2012 9pm on a weekend. Came up the stairs brooklyn we seen a bum pissing on the subway wall entrance and got the he'll back to Manhattan
Why were you so rude looking at me? I should have pissed on the third rail and turned it into a shish kabob. Respectful New Yorkers never woke me up and disturbed me. They have manners and consideration for others. 😂
Our recent ancestors were FAR more talented than many people realize. They did incredible things with pencil and paper, steam-driven equipment, and plain old muscle power. 🎩🧢 off to them!
How about that railway line from the west coast to the east or the telegraph line same place? Don't these classify as mega projects? Damn sure I would not want to pay for them. Oh and more importantly they came before a freaking bridge.
anyone get assigned this video for school?
yesss
Amazing history of Brooklyn Bridge 👏👏👏

And the indigenous peoples we stole from to build upon
It was just men who built that building, bud.

Well done video
America's first mega-project was actually the transcontinental railway. 3000 miles coast to coast built 20 years earlier than the Brooklyn Bridge.
Don't forget the Erie Canal, even earlier!
Amazing
Great
A TRUE MARVEL🎉❤
Transformation does not start with some one else changing you; transformation is an inner self reworking of what you are now to what you will be.
Great is the art of beginning, but greater is the art of ending.
Your short brought me here and it didn't disappoint!
Also what is the name of the music you used in this video?
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's not really music. It's not a song, it's just "ambient sound".
I am from India ❤

I came after watching the Short about Caissons
I hope you liked it and the video didn’t disappoint
Decent video
Wow, one of the foundations NEVER reached the bedrock, and some of the steel cables weren't to spec? And it's still here! wow!
Brook bridge is so iconic, and the views of lower manhattan from the bridge is unmatched

I can't believe the bridge was built in the 19th century.
Our recent ancestors were FAR more talented than many people realize. They did incredible things with pencil and paper, steam-driven equipment, and plain old muscle power. 🎩🧢 off to them!
💪🏻🇺🇸👏🏻
So this bridge with this wide invented for just pedestrians and horses thats magical even before car invented ?!!

One has to wonder how he convinced the local government to do this project.
The Gilded Age brought me here
This is the Victorian Age
Going to have to argue that the Erie Canal was America's first megaproject, but the Brooklyn Bridge is, of course, awesome!
The Wires for the Brooklyn Bridge were NOT defective!
this helps explain the usa open border policies. cheap, ignorant labor.
