"One day not too long ago while walking the dogs, I thought to myself "what if I turned the intro motif of Crazy Backup Dancers into a neurofunk bassline?" Things got kind of out of control after that. Before I knew it, the bass had a solid few pinches of metal in it, and the thing had turned into this bizarre drumstep/metal hybrid. Some haphazardous experimentation with bending background chords and careful iteration on the original verse and breakdown later, we arrive at this. A tale of a backstabbing of tremendous proportions, a piece that makes you comfortable and then turns that against you to remind you of the true nature of what you're messing with. Tragedy woven into the sudden violence. It's far too easy to become comfortable with those who hold great power, as practicing Behind Festival tends to remind me. Very creepy, yet quite catchy at the same time, interesting. Very interesting. Normally i prefer Eurobeat and metal music such as Bloody Devotion, but I think I'll add this to my favorite list, if just for its uniqueness alone.
You know "Crazy Backup Dancers" is a song that is made to fit the hectic scenario of fighting these two...this Metal arrangement? It's more like we've all been sent to hell and the Crazy Backup Dancers are...well...Crazy.
I thought ZUN made the music before the gameplay? IIRC the touhou games are a platform to share his music so the music is made first, which is why the stages seem to sync up with the music most of the time
@@boblobgobstopper13214I'm not sure, but I think it's that ZUN sometimes comes with a design and frond it does the music and then fit things to it, or as you say, makes the song and then fits it to the game, game and game sections being pretty much always last in his creation cycle, but I'm not sure and I can't find any interview where it details how he goes around in his creation cycle

totally agree, she is very good, and need more at the end, like the crazy backup dancers melody (TADATADADATADATADATADADADADADA), very fast, with the origanl tonality but with this atmosphere, that will be perfect.
love the ambiance and high-energy vibe i get from this mix, along with the drum/metal breakdowns. added to my "touhou/high energy" playlist, for when I play my bullet hell games on Dreamcast :)
Everything after the drops sound vaguely like something that could be in in Doom 2017. Quite like it, but I find some parts could have been changed up a little (no offence intended to Eons :P)
