Formed in Wolverhampton in 1966, Slade's chart career spanned 3 decades. Slade were unstoppable throughout the seventies becoming one of Europe's biggest bands, releasing 6 smash hit albums, including three No-1’s, and their hit singles are synonymous with the era. The sensational songwriting partnership of Noddy Holder and Jim Lea provided a soundtrack to the Glam Generation and with a run of 17 consecutive Top 20 singles between 1971 and 1976, no other act of the period experienced such success.
In the eighties Slade enjoyed a renaissance, buoyed by a spectacular appearance at the Reading Festival in 1980, their hits included “My oh My”, which reached number 2 in 1983 and a year later with “Run Runaway”, cementing their legacy as one of the UK’s greatest bands.

Шикарная песня. Мне повезло, что я узнал об этой группе еще в детстве :)
Worth translating, man.
Я не только узнал а даже спел и сыграл сразу на школьном вечере..было свежо это в 1973 году..и О Сюзи Кью Криденсев..
Вокал - СУПЕР !!!
Another one of my favorites from this band. I spent a lot of time moving around when I was younger. This song really spoke to me.
So it should, It spoke to me too. What a band. KOR.
Agree 👍💪
I think this was a b-side (Gudbye to Jane). I bought everything they released. I played this until I could see through the vinyl. Wonderful Lea song. I suffer from Parkinson's now (not due to the music) but I saw them in concert a few times. After one of them alongside Quo, Francis Rossi complained that 'they tramped through the mud carrying guitars and then they blew us off-stage'. Nuff said.
I am 70 years old. I was at the concerts of Quo and Slade in Moscow. Rossi is right, Slade will trample everyone.
When Quo supported Slade after their set they would stay and watch Slade in awe, Parfitt's words not mine.
Quo and Slade became good mates, even Quo admitted that Slade blew them away live.
Круто! Живой звук и хороший голос :)
Does anyone know a good book to read on Slade?
I know nothing about them, apart from the great tracks.
Great upload.
There's a recently published book by Darryl Easlea (I THINK that's the correct name of the author) called 'Whatever happened to Slade' which has got very good reviews
Noddy Holder's Autobiography is pretty decent. I've not read Don Powell's one yet.
@@jimihendrix6969 I’ve now read Don Powell’s book as well. It feels a bit more thorough than Noddy’s. It’s certainly a different perspective.
