Hey Arthur I can answer your question as to why the Tera Dos Beet Harvester had crab steer! It has crab steer for weight distribution. As it is a huge mega ton of metal it would make great impressions on the field in a rigid mode. This would make a hell of a mess of the field and in wet conditions would probably get it stuck. Crab steer spreads the weight out so that each pair of following wheels doesn't run in the tracks of those in front so that it has less chance of having the axles sink further down in mud as the wheels push its weight further down in the ground. I hope this is a clear explanation for you and everyone else :)
Hi Arthur, Thanks for your informative tutorials and reviews. I thought I would let you know I found a nice trick to increase the amount of Slurry the Holmer Terra Variant can inject/spread. Load the Zunhammer Slurry tank then add a Slurrry Trailer this allows you to spread/Inject the combined total of the tanks in one load, and as the game sees the Holmer Terra Variant as a tractor you can Hire a Worker to spread for you. The trick also works when using the Zundisc cultivator on the Zunhammer trailer. Unfortunately you cannot hire a worker if using the Flegil Dolly tank spreader I think it does this in the same way that the fromt and back spray fertilizer tanks work. Unfortunately it doesn't do the same with Manure spreaders as the one on the Variant Blocks the Hitch.

Hey Art, I was using the sugar beet harvester and I found that if you come out of crab mode go to flexible steering before switching to another mode and it didn't get stuck. Give it a shot :)
Arthur on the side of the slurry tanker you find a large white hose along the side it is used to vacuum slurry out of the tank and into the tank on the machine. The reason I know this is I've been watching videos of it.
With how quickly manure and slurry (at least when not using a direct cultivator/fertilizer set up like the Zunhammer trailer in this mod) spray out as you go, it never felt like using either for fertilizing your fields was a very good option. Thankfully, at least for manure, the base game has those greenhouses you can use it on. And there's other greenhouse mods out there that can be picked up to further stretch that "product."
In 15 its just as bad, but if you sell a lot of silage, you can use digestate for fertilizer. I now specifically grow corn near the biogas plants and forage it just to get the free digestate. Manure is still a hard sell though.
Having found a mod that lets you push bales into a pit and have them converted directly to manure makes it a bit more appealing, though. Lets you take the straw produced by some of your crops, as well as extra grass and hay, directly into fertilizer for your fields.
There's a Grimme mod that's a giant harvesting machine that has an 80k liter capacity and a very wide cutting swath. It always makes me feel like I'm cheating when I use it, but it's apparently a real machine.

I actually prefer buying it from steam because of the unlimited downloads - if my PC blows up I can recover it and not have to email and try to get a valid code for the new computer. The only reason I did FS.com was because Evy and I have different steam accounts, so if we want to play multiplayer, we have to buy two copies through steam, or one copy from giants and install it on both PCs. With FS.com you get 3 installs, so I don't have to pay 2x :). Just so you know, Steam beat Giants with the Gold DLC, so its kind of a matter of luck.

Manure spreaders are out of manure really fast in real life. Theres always a lot of going back and forth, switch to the loader. the loading goes sometimes longer than the emptying of the spreader. If the field is further away from the manure pile then it's very anoying. Same with the slurry tanks. So in FS it's actually pretty realistic.

in real life if the manure or slurry pit is full or is getting full soon you tend to choose a field the spread the material. Especially before snowfall its important to get space in the slurry pit. In switzerland it's forbidden to spread slurry during the winter for 3 months. so it's sometimes pretty hard to calculate that with the smaller fields we have over here. as i've seen and done the spreading it's actually pretty realistic in FS. a lot of driving to the field and back to the pits, you spend less time on the field than driving and refilling. But in FS theres a trick, if you hire a worker the spreader spreads on and on without having to refill. But it costs money instead. not to spend money is one reason to use manure and slurry, besides it's also really good quality of fertilising. I'm not a profesional farmer but i help on a farm sometimes.
U have crab wheels because if it's waiting to be unloaded it will just sink and it will be so heavy U will not be able to pull it out so the crab wheels spread the weight over wet ground
Here where i live They usualy plant beets every other year so i get to see the holmer terra dos t4-30 i Think its called its the same as the t4-40 but a little smaller and only has 4 wheals instead of 6
@Arthur Chapman Fun Fact: You can connect the in game Zunhammer slurry tanker along with the Holmer Slurry tanker. Giving you a total of 39,500L of slurry to spread or cultivate with. +Arthur Chapman That it does, you load that harvester to the brim, and it becomes a heavy machine, and if you are running just in 2 tracks you could rut your field in a hurry. Crabbing spreads the weight, but in game it's a pain in the butt to constantly switch between the crab modes, raise/lower the header at the headlands. So I am just running the machine in flex steer, makes turning around at the end easier, same with the Variant and the cultivator.
As a tipper, the new stuff sucks. I'm always looks for bigger tippers on my farm. I chain a couple 65k capacity trailers. If it's smaller than the 80k trailer, I find it hard to buy these more complicated rigs

I kept checking the link that they sent me (the site still said pre-order) and at 6pm last night (midnight swiss time, where they are located) it was available. The reason I do it through them directly is because I can then install it on my 2 computers (it actually allows for 3 installs per purchase) and Evelyn and I can both use it. If I had bought it through Steam Evelyn and I would have had to each buy a copy separately. Its also a matter of luck. Sometimes Steam releases first (they were almost a day ahead of farmsim.com with the gold dlc) so I just got lucky.
they responded and they said they sent it but its nowhere to be found, they blow, and i sent you message about auto combine yesterday early thats all, and can you have more than one combine on that at a time? i was using mine and they worked for few minutes and then stopped
