May I make a suggestion? I have the palette and the way to apply the metallics is either with a bare fingertip or with a very dense and tightly packed brush made from natural hair such as goat. I use the Sonia G Builder 1 or Builder 2 (the latter is the better) and the metallics apply perfectly. The brushes pick up product without any issues. The trick is not to try blend but to use a dabbing motion during application. The metallics are almost cream-like and do require a dense brush to get the most out of these. The finger tip works best applying neat onto the lid ie without matte shadow already applied to the mobile lid. This enables the metallic shimmer to adhere better. I hope this helps.
I 100% agree I own this palette and not to be rude or anything but it was user error of why this didn't work out. Her cream like shadows can't be applied the same way you do mattes and getting a wet brush for a cream will make it worse. I think that if you went and watched anyones make up tutorials using this palette they don't have these issues you just need to be able to adjust to it. By far my favorite palette I own.
L H I must say you're right I have this palette, and if I do cut crease after putting the mattes I'm gonna pick a cue tip and makeup remover ang remove the concealer on the crease that I'm going to cut and then apply the glitters with my bare fingers😊

I LOVE it when things don't work for TH-camrs while their doing a tutorial!!! Because it actually teaches me how to correct mistakes which I MAKE often!!! So Thank you for showing them instead of editing the issue. TH-camrs should be so honest as you were in making this video! Life is Not Perfect and everyday people trying to recreate the looks which you show us, actually have more difficulty be because your more of a processional than we are and it's just difficult to recreate many of the looks!!! So Please continue to teach us how to fix looks which aren't going right for us, it really HELPS!!! Also with these shadows, since I don't like touching and applying with my fingers. I noticed using those cheap eyeshadow sponges (the ones we all throw out!) Well those actually help apply those shadows in Huda's pallets!!! Honestly, it works GREAT NOW!!!
I just have to say that I think what Huda did was bogus. So many bought the palette thinking it was being discontinued and then this was released.. bogus 🙄
I initially subscribed to you because I have the same hooded eye shape and large pores (not the club we all want to be part of unfortunately 😂). I look forward to your relatable videos and even more so when the reviews are honest. Thank you! Hello 🌹 I got this palette two weeks ago and I’m in love with it! The colors I tried were extremely pigmented and very easy to blend. BUT I had to use my finger to apply the shimmery shadows.
Well I love this palette..i have always wanted to buy this one and when I did..i loved it on my eyes. It's highly pigmented and all the colours are lovely. I dont know why you hate it so much and are discouraging others not to buy it...guys I would say please go and try it for yourself first and then make a decision.

No some of Huda products have bad batches, meaning some people have not the same issue with the product. I actually have the same problem with the Desert Dusk palette, but not with the Topaz palette. It’s very hit and miss.
I literally do not understand why people are going mad over this palette so much. I have the palette and I am so happy with it, colours are amazing and blend easy... no fall out, glitters are amazing, it literally worth the money and is working for me so well.I was shocked when I saw so many hate videos.

I believe there is a serious problem when people feel they can't be honest; after all, us subscribers come here to learn about makeup, see if a product is suitable for us with our own unique circumstances (skin tone and type, financial, location and accessibility to products etc) and we rely on honesty from you experts in these areas. I purchased the original textured one and I think that it was a bit shady that she remastered it. I don’t think it’s different enough for me to go and pick it up, and it looks like a worse formula. I still thoroughly enjoy the original palette 💜 loving these palette reviews 😍
The original one is much much better, and it has better colors. Don't feel like u r missing on something by not having the new one its not worth it at all.

I just so surprised at your experience with this palette. This is the most amazing palette I’ve ever used in my life. The mattes are so super pigmented and beautiful. No kickback at all, whatsoever. Ive always used finger for shimmers, that’s how they work. I’ve already put in orders for more huda products because the quality of this is so amazing.
I've found that using a natural hair brush works best with the shimmers. Using your finger in the center then perfecting it with a natural hair brush. I also use a good primer, concealer, or glitter glue with shimmers every time. It's insane that you had to pay that much 😑😭😤Even though we have different experiences and opinions on this palette, as always I appreciate your honesty and your opinions😊

You're a miracle worker to get that to turn out as nicely as you did! Those of us who are less talented (like me) would've failed miserably and then blamed ourselves for our lack of adequate skill. With that expensive a palette, I'm glad you gave us an honest look at what to expect before we spend that much money on it.
I wonder if you got a return palette for your 125.00!! They looked like they were pressed hard wiith a finger, like they were repressed before it was sent to you. Wow... I never got the original but loved seeing looks. When it was re-released, I was BEYOND tempted to buy it! But the cost had me hung up. I let myself forget about it for a while, avoided reviews and tutorials so I wouldn't be tempted! LOL Thank you SO MUCH for an honest review! I truly use a variety of TH-camr reviews before some of my bigger purchases (such as this, a palette from a brand I have never used before), but I don't think I will be needing to watch any more! How does someone with so much experience and popularity not understand that people do not like half assed eyeshadows, and I don’t even support her brand but yet to see this palette to be not as expected isn’t surprising to me. I only watched this video because I love your channel idk... it’s the same thing with Kylie, she has so much money but idk. :/ i don’t get it. smaller and cheaper companies make their eyeshadows deliciously like wet n wild or colour pop... personally, I don’t even buy expensive ass makeup because I just feel like there’s always something cheaper and even better... call me crazy but just my opinion. w.e.

Thank you for your honesty! I was so attracted to the colors of the palette, but just not the price. I'll drop $50 for a good eyeshadow palette any day, but anything over $60 really has to be worth every dollar. Yes there are a lot of shadows in this particular palette, but if even 2 or 3 dont work, it's not worth the money. Love the video!

I’m sooo glad u did this review! I have this in my basket to buy with a few other bits, I’m removing it now!! I’ve got both the others and I like the desert dusk one but wasn’t keen on the rose gold one in the first place. The purple one in the desert dusk is so grainy and barely any pigment, a couple others are the same. The rose gold one was very much the same with a few of the colours. Such a shame it really is! I was so excited for this one thinking it would be great....obviously not!
I know that this is an old video, but I just purchased the Desert Dusk Palette along with the Rose Gold Remastered... I haven’t had many issues with either of them... My Sigma brushes pick up the colors beautifully and I use my finger for the shimmers which isn’t a huge deal breaker. I’m wondering if you somehow got a bad palette???? Anyways, I appreciate your honesty and hard work that you put into this one... I watch your videos quite frequently, because you’re one of the few that I actually trust... Ishita # Speaking from experience, the LA Girl Pro Matte is one of my favorite Demi matte foundations. I mix one pump in shade natural with one pump of maybelline super stay foundation in shade 220. Blends like a dream with a flat top kabuki. It even blends beautifully under the eyes. A little goes a super long way!!
I've never had a problem using the palette. Using your finger with huda foils works just fine and super beautiful...silicone brushes work fine for lower lash lines or if you don't like using a finger.
I didnt buy the first one, which I'm glad I didnt cuz I would have been mad that it was suppose to be discontinued then came back out with the same palette, remastered. I can see why people are mad about that, I would have been pissed. But I'm not gonna buy this one cuz of how it was all done. And its SO EXPENSIVE! and there are some BEAUTIFUL dupes, that are less than half the price. So I can get the same looks for way cheaper. Shop hush has a beautiful palette, same colors, good quality for $16! Makeup rev has a couple, hard candy even has one and it's really good!

I’m not sure I will buy anything else from Huda Beauty. Her products are far to overpriced. This palette was her last chance to put out a decent product, and she failed miserably! Why even put it out!?! Just can’t stand this brand anymore.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who had trouble with blending the shadows out, for me they either just disappeared or went really patchy 😕 disappointing for a $95 palette that’s meant to be an improvement on the last one! The shimmers in this one apparently can be used with a dry brush unlike the original but I had the same happen to me, showed nothing 😔
Just wanna say, i literally chose the exact shades as you when i used it for the 1st time. I told my friend how the outer corner was awful. The black stuck to my eye and looked like i was trying to cover eczema on my eye. I'm returning asap.

I see so many channels including this one here acting so shady towards HudaBeauty products, like the same pallette is used by so many others and the tutorials are amazing and they always talk about how beautiful it is and how its good of quality too but here always things go wrong and not good lol like I don't wear makeup that much but my friends and a lot of TH-camrs with their tutorials looking great and everything also praise the pallette but this channel always being shady! Even after your review I think I still want it! It’s because I have a diferent methods of applying eyeshadow - I never ever use black and I always apply shimmers with fingers,BUT,that being sad,the palette should be easy to work with for everybody with brushes or fingers! I don’t know why she changed the formula,the shimmers in Desert Dusk were perfection.
It actually hurt me to see how those shimmer shades didn't work at all, that palette is so expensive you should be able to use it with every brush and fingers and toes 😅😫
Ever since the orginal came out this is the palette I craved after. I decided to get Remastered and it came in the mail a couple of days ago. I haven't tried it out yet as I'm in the middle of moving, but I am looking forward to see how it works for me. Will let you know :)

I feel like the red was just as patchy as the black. Very pretty color arrangement but too expensive to not blend amazingly.

Wow... I never got the original but loved seeing looks. When it was re-released, I was BEYOND tempted to buy it! But the cost had me hung up. I let myself forget about it for a while, avoided reviews and tutorials so I wouldn't be tempted! LOL Thank you SO MUCH for an honest review! I truly use a variety of TH-camr reviews before some of my bigger purchases (such as this, a palette from a brand I have never used before), but I don't think I will be needing to watch any more! Love all you do!

How does someone with so much experience and popularity not understand that people do not like half assed eyeshadows, and I don’t even support her brand but yet to see this palette to be not as expected isn’t surprising to me. I only watched this video because I love your channel idk... it’s the same thing with Kylie, she has so much money but idk. :/ i don’t get it. smaller and cheaper companies make their eyeshadows deliciously like wet n wild or colour pop... personally, I don’t even buy expensive ass makeup because I just feel like there’s always something cheaper and even better... call me crazy but just my opinion. w.e.

Thank you for your honesty! I was so attracted to the colors of the palette, but just not the price. I'll drop $50 for a good eyeshadow palette any day, but anything over $60 really has to be worth every dollar. Yes there are a lot of shadows in this particular palette, but if even 2 or 3 dont work, it's not worth the money. Love the video!

I’m sooo glad u did this review! I have this in my basket to buy with a few other bits, I’m removing it now!! I’ve got both the others and I like the desert dusk one but wasn’t keen on the rose gold one in the first place. The purple one in the desert dusk is so grainy and barely any pigment, a couple others are the same. The rose gold one was very much the same with a few of the colours. Such a shame it really is! I was so excited for this one thinking it would be great....obviously not!

I know that this is an old video, but I just purchased the Desert Dusk Palette along with the Rose Gold Remastered... I haven’t had many issues with either of them... My Sigma brushes pick up the colors beautifully and I use my finger for the shimmers which isn’t a huge deal breaker. I’m wondering if you somehow got a bad palette???? Anyways, I appreciate your honesty and hard work that you put into this one... I watch your videos quite frequently, because you’re one of the few that I actually trust... You are an amazing artist!!! Keep on shining on! 🌟 💫

Ishita # Speaking from experience, the LA Girl Pro Matte is one of my favorite Demi matte foundations. I mix one pump in shade natural with one pump of maybelline super stay foundation in shade 220. Blends like a dream with a flat top kabuki. It even blends beautifully under the eyes. A little goes a super long way!!

I've never had a problem using the palette. Using your finger with huda foils works just fine and super beautiful...silicone brushes work fine for lower lash lines or if you don't like using a finger.

I didnt buy the first one, which I'm glad I didnt cuz I would have been mad that it was suppose to be discontinued then came back out with the same palette, remastered. I can see why people are mad about that, I would have been pissed. But I'm not gonna buy this one cuz of how it was all done. And its SO EXPENSIVE! and there are some BEAUTIFUL dupes, that are less than half the price. So I can get the same looks for way cheaper. Shop hush has a beautiful palette, same colors, good quality for $16! Makeup rev has a couple, hard candy even has one and it's really good!

I’m not sure I will buy anything else from Huda Beauty. Her products are far to overpriced. This palette was her last chance to put out a decent product, and she failed miserably! Why even put it out!?! Just can’t stand this brand anymore.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who had trouble with blending the shadows out, for me they either just disappeared or went really patchy 😕 disappointing for a $95 palette that’s meant to be an improvement on the last one!
The shimmers in this one apparently can be used with a dry brush unlike the original but I had the same happen to me, showed nothing 😔
Just wanna say, i literally chose the exact shades as you when i used it for the 1st time. I told my friend how the outer corner was awful. The black stuck to my eye and looked like i was trying to cover eczema on my eye. I'm returning asap.

I see so many channels including this one here acting so shady towards HudaBeauty products, like the same pallette is used by so many others and the tutorials are amazing and they always talk about how beautiful it is and how its good of quality too but here always things go wrong and not good lol like I don't wear makeup that much but my friends and a lot of TH-camrs with their tutorials looking great and everything also praise the pallette but this channel always being shady! Come on.
I feel some shadows in desert dusk have the same issue with shimmers. It can swatch on the arm but nothing on the lid. Weird😰😰
I got the desert dusk palette first and I love it so much so I purchase the rose gold (the first edition) and I was already a bit disappointed, I'm not buying the remastered one!! It's so expensive for this!! She should make a new palette like the desert dusk with new shades!! Thanks for the review

Even after your review I think I still want it! It’s because I have a diferent methods of applying eyeshadow - I never ever use black and I always apply shimmers with fingers,BUT,that being sad,the palette should be easy to work with for everybody with brushes or fingers! I don’t know why she changed the formula,the shimmers in Desert Dusk were perfection.
What’s the different between big palettes and the small ones!!! I have 2 obsession and I really like it. haven’t try on my eyes the big ones tho

Those shimmers work in a certain way. Very few beauty gurus actually know how to use them

Ever since the orginal came out this is the palette I craved after. I decided to get Remastered and it came in the mail a couple of days ago. I haven't tried it out yet as I'm in the middle of moving, but I am looking forward to see how it works for me. Will let you know :)
