I know people in the chat just want to help but it's kind of infuriating to see them asking him to do advanced stuff when he is still trying to figure out how the crafting system even works. Like, people only tell him to make an axe to cut down trees after ONE HOUR AND A HALF into the video. But anyway, he figured a lot of stuff by himself and it's fascinating to watch someone play this game without knowing ANYTHING, especially since the game itself never tells you how to play it, so it's kind of like a puzzle at the beginning. edit: Ok, this is the weirdest chat I've seen in a while, lol. Nice gameplay though.
Hi people, I think it's a matter of miscommunication and not being descriptive enough as well. A couple people were trying to be really helpful, but were not helpful, because of their very generic descriptions of what to do. During the first hour, peiple kept on telling the creator to "go left." And tge creator did not know what they meant. I know people don't generally like to give highly detailed answers. However, specifics are a necessity when trying to effectively communicate. This is how I would describe the process. 0.5) just punch a while bunch of trees. I'd say punch at least 7 full trunks. 1.) Pull up your user interface (HUD) that consists of everything that is in your inventory. This part of the UI has a picture of your character and everything that you have picked up. 2.) There's another part of this interface consisting of stuff you can make or craft. When both parts of the interface are on screen, the crafting side is tge left side of the interface. 3 ) Things you cannot craft are highlighted in red. These are red since you cannot make them and therefore don't have the parts to make them. 4.) Crafting is the practice of making stuffing using current stuff. And the end result of each item crafted may be used to create a new recipie. 5.) The first thing you want to craft is the crafting table but you cannot do Thus until you get some other items. 6.) When you punch trees, they give you logs and each log can be crafted further into a wooden planks. Plants are needed to make a crafting table. 7.) To make planks, get logs first since we know that logs craft into planks. 8.) Bring up the user interface that only consists of inventory. There will be 4 empty squares that is directly across from the picture of your character. 9.) Place logs into the upper left corner of the 4 squares. Tgkhua will create planks. 10.) Once crafted. There will be a square to the right of the 4 squares. This will have a picture of planks. 11.) Pull the planks from this square onto your inventory, preferably the bottom row that's doet if separated. This last row is called a hot bar. 12.) Great job. You created planks! But what you what is crafting table. Remember how I told you that things that are crafted can be turned into other things. Well, 4 planks equals a crafting table.. 13.)bring up your inventory interface once again that has a picture of your character and the 4 squares to the right of your character. 14.) Place 1 plank in each of the 4 squares. 15.) In the square to the right of the 4 square grid, you'll see a picture of your crafting table. 16.) Pull that 1 picture of a crafting table into your hotbar 17.) Now place on ground. 18.) The recipe book is a shorthand version. It tells you everything you need to know. The recipe book is part of the user interface to the left of the inventory on the right. 19.) For example, in the search bar, enter stairs. Good! You'll see a recpie for cobblestone stairs. When you select this, you may see that the inventory side showing either a 4 X 4 grid or 3 X 3 grid may be red? What does that mean? It means you lack cobblestone. That is why it's not going into user inventory. 20.) Get cobblestone. 21.) What is cobblestone? The somewhat Grey interlacing pattern if mostly Grays are mostly likely store. Break with a pick are to get cobblestone. 22.) If you don't have a pickaxe you get obtain cobblestone from stone. Blocks will just break into nothingness. 23.) How do you make a pickaxe? Go to your recipie book. Enter pickaxe. On the right you'll see your 3 X 3 grid is telling you that you need 3 planks across the top amd two sticks in the middle. If part of the 3x3 or 2x2 grid on the inventory is red, again, it means you don't have something. So if sticks are red, you need to make sticks 24.) To make sticks, once you have a crafting table, bring up crafting table interface. That is the inventory with the 3 X 3 grid to the right of your character. 25.) Place two planks in the 3 X 3 grid, the first plank in the dead center of the 3 X 3 grid and the second one just below it in the center. 26.) This creates sticks 27.) Drag your sticks from the right square that is to the right of the 3 X 3 grid and place it into your inventory. 28.) Hopefully you can make that wooden pickaxe now. Search Pickaxe in the search field of the recipie book. Of you have all parts and double click pickaxe OR drag it down from the square to the right of the 3x3 grid. Remember of it is red, you cannot get it. 29.) Break down stone with your wooden pickaxe. It will automatically turned into cobblestone once broken with a pickaxe. 30.) Search for the recipie for stairs. See of you can make stairs. If you can, get the stairs. You should know how to now. 31.) It might seem odd tgat I told you to get stairs but will definitely help wgen building a staircase down to a mine. 32.) You are on your own now.
Oh my goodness I kept having to remind myself this literally his blind intro to the game because of how frustrated I was getting with little things like, Not so many sticks Brian!...And he's out of wood planks. But it was a learning process for me too although I don't think I went into the game totally blind like he has
Can someone in chat PLEASE tell Brian NOT to dig straight down! First rule of minecraft! He's made so much progress I don't want him to fall to his death if he finds a cavern.
If you're going to get a Wii U, I highly reccomend Earthbound! Also I want to put my vote in for the Disney Afternoon Collection, which is on PS4 and XB1 - I know you might want to use Twitch to branch out from Disney, but I feel like after playing Disneyland Adventures it might be refreshing to play some licensed Disney games that are actually Good Quality ™
Almost...Died...Laughing. If you are learning to play minecraft, may I suggest Survival, Peaceful to start out? This will allow you to learn the mechanics of moving, mining, crafting. building etc. without the perpetual creeper griefing.
