Mrs Colleen, you can have powdered milk on hand for if you don't have enough milk. You can't tell in a recipe like this. It's a nice backup in times where you can't get to the store.
@@kathycritser3932 yes, you need to bring the liquid up to whatever was in the recipe. So if it calls for 1 cup of warm milk add one cup of warm water and 4 TBSPs of powdered milk.
Mrs.Colleen I can't thank you enough watching you do different recipes with your bread maker I have learned so much You are my go to video for bread making 😊
Hello I’m a new subscriber. I’m enjoying the bread machine recipes , I haven’t used mine in probably 15yrs+, but after seeing your videos I pulled it out of storage and It’s sitting on my counter . The kids and grandkids are in heaven with the results. Thank you
I came across your cinnamon roll recipe video accidentally. You inspired me so much I dug out my bread machine that my mom gave me in the early 90’s. I haven’t used it in probably 15 years and at 7:00 pm on a Saturday night I’m making cinnamon rolls. 😂
I just found your channel - what a wonderful breath of fresh air you are. I know it’s nice for young people to be proud of their efforts and want everyone to share in their delight but a real, experienced, knowledgeable and personable cook who can explain what they are doing without all the music and other bells and whistles is very rare. I’ve been using my trusty old bread machine to make various breads for ages but never sweet breads with raisins and fruit. I LOVE your tip about adding them after 10 minutes. Thank you, I will be making the cinnamon raisin bread ala Colleen tomorrow.😊
Hello Colleen, I’m from Texas and I enjoy watching your videos on making breads. I have a bread machine and haven’t been using it as much as I should. I appreciate your recipes, they all sound delicious. Thanks for sharing!
Wow - I am really excited to find panettone made in a bread machine. I just bought one, but it's small - just makes 1lb. I'll have to adapt a recipe. I love panettone & every Christmas I search for one. This is my 2nd bread machine - gave the first to Goodwill when we downsized. Now all I have to do is find a good orange peel which is what I like most. I would never have thought of panettone if I hadn't seen this video so thank you very much.
Thank you so much Colleen. I discovered your wonderful channel recently and so enjoy. Like you, I have always used my bread maker to do the first part of the process. You have truly mastered this and I am so grateful that you take the time to share your experience. Looking forward to many more ideas and recipes from you and wishing you a lovely holiday season and healthy year to come.
I love your bread recipes! I have been trying out several. They all taste yummy! I was wondering if you have tried any banana bread recipes in the bread machine?
Thank you so much Colleen. I'm really enjoying your bread machine recipes. With the price of bread rising so high here in Nova Scotia you have to make it yourself. Some breads here are as high as $7.50 or more a loaf. 💕
I came across your baking bread and cinnamon rolls. I’m hooked. I must get a bread machine! Love watching you bake & listening to you share your insights and advice.
Hi Colleen, nice baking, in my supermarket yesterday I saw a medium sized pannettone, price was $32.00 so needless to say it's s at the supermarket, yours looked far nicer, cinnamon raisin bread yummoh. Thanks Colleen x
You are very comfortable and casual with your bread and measurements. I'm terrified of bread, so I'm by the letter. 😊 I have never thought of using my machine for just the mixing and first rise. I have only seen allowing the machine go all the way through baking. Your loaves were beautiful!
Hi Colleen I just finished watching several of your videos and I am so glad to have found you. Let me just say you are precise and clear in your instructions. I was almost going to donate my bread maker but I’m going to hold onto it thanks to you and give it another shot. I agree with your thoughts on snow replenishing the water supply . Happy holidays !
I use my bread machine to make bread - including the baking function. I enjoy the plain white bread that it makes. I am going to try using your recipe for cinnamon raisin bread, but actually bake it in the bread machine. Should be interesting. Thank you for making these videos.
Thank you for your great videos. I have learned to use my bread machine with your instructions. I am 80 years old and a real newcomer to the wonders of breadmaking. Just a question..Is it possible to make Salt Rising bread in the machine? I sure do miss the taste of this bread.

Thank you for posting the Christmas Bread. Where I come from we would call this Fruit Bread and I love it. So happy to find a recipe that I can make myself. When using 2 smaller loaf pans, what size do you recommend?
Colleen, those are beautiful breads! Thank tou so much for sharing! Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing day!( I hope i got that right!!) Or, is that for England?🙂
Thank you, I have had others say that as well. I think that where I went wrong is I thought a pig of yeast was a tablespoon when in fact it is 2 1/4 teaspoons.
Thanks for making these videos. Just wanted to clarify, one tablespoon equals three teaspoons, not 2 1/4. You might want to correct that with your viewers.
Thanks for the info! It appears I have been doing it wrong my whole life. Apparently it didn't have a negative effect or I would have researched it more carefully before now. Best wishes, Colleen
How long does the time for making the dough last? I have a later version of the HB bread maker and not sure when I am supposed to take the dough out of the machine to put in baking pan.😊
Sorry for the second text but the comment by Lisa pop? Talks about having powdered milk on hand for emergencies, Well my local WalMart has been carrying Whole milk dry powdered milk at the store near me. Nice to not only have that NON FAT dry powdered milk for emergencies, that stuff has no flavor my kids Kate’s it and would rather have their cereal with orange juice or kool aid but not that milk they could see through. We hope you had a Christmas full of love and family & friends And a Happy New Year!!!
So I recieved a betty crocker BC1699 the pDdle is on bottom. When bread is removed the paddle rips a hole in bottom of bread. I do not have booklet but looked up on internet. The instructions do not say anything about this. Does this happen with the machine you use?

Can I use active fry yeast if I proof the milk and yeast first before placing in my breadmachine pan
Hi Colleen, have questions can I use powdered milk and dry active yeast in all of your bread recipes especially the raison bread? Thank you 😊
Quick rise yeast and yes you can use powdered milk as long as you mix the powdered milk into water.
Colleen, those are beautiful breads! Thank tou so much for sharing! Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing day!( I hope i got that right!!) Or, is that for England?🙂
Can you make small loaves for gifts using the panettone recipe ?
I don’t understand why you don’t weigh the ingredients and remove the guesswork.
Do you have a cookbook out with your bread recipes?
No I don't. I just have the two videos I have made so far and I intend to make some more. Thanks for asking though.
Have really enjoyed your bread machine videos-looking forward to trying your recipes soon!!
@ 17:11 Respectfully, your tablespoon / teaspoon ratio is off. In US 1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons. I very much enjoy your videos.
Thank you, I have had others say that as well. I think that where I went wrong is I thought a pig of yeast was a tablespoon when in fact it is 2 1/4 teaspoons.
Good morning Colleen love your chanle what is the name of the bread machine you use 😊
Hello Phyllis, My bread machine is Hamilton Beach. Thanks for watching my channel!! Cheers, Colleen
It would have been nice if you had cut the Christmas bread so we could have seen how it looked!
U have any for pumpernickel, potatoe bread or hawaiian?
I haven't made any of those in my bread machine yet. I will do some experiments and see what I can come up with. Cheers, Colleen
For how long did the raisin bread rise?
I don’t have a bread machine so can I just use a mixer to make it? Thank you
You sure can! All the ingredients into the bowl the same way as you would the bread machine.
Best wishes, Colleen
can I bake bread machine dough in a foil loaf pan? I have people requesting 4 loaves of Raisin bread and I don't have that many normal/bread loaf pans
How long does the time for making the dough last? I have a later version of the HB bread maker and not sure when I am supposed to take the dough out of the machine to put in baking pan.😊
Hello, I just use the dough setting which is a total of 90 minutes and when the time is up on the machine it beeps to let you know its ready to go.
@@oursilvermoments6028 thank you for clarifying!😊
Sorry for the second text but the comment by
Lisa pop? Talks about having powdered milk on hand for emergencies,
Well my local WalMart has been carrying Whole milk dry powdered milk at the store near me.
Nice to not only have that NON FAT dry powdered milk for emergencies, that stuff has no flavor my kids Kate’s it and would rather have their cereal with orange juice or kool aid but not that milk they could see through.
We hope you had a Christmas full of love and family & friends
And a Happy New Year!!!
So I recieved a betty crocker BC1699 the pDdle is on bottom. When bread is removed the paddle rips a hole in bottom of bread. I do not have booklet but looked up on internet. The instructions do not say anything about this. Does this happen with the machine you use?
