The Fucking Guitar is fucking amazing in this version and the live performances, I wish there was a studio version but with the guitar added to it. its so beautiful and really adds to the song.
This is everything I've ever wished for -- can't describe it in words, impossible -- it's pure, simple and complex, getting cheesy as fuck now -- fucking hell thank you Damon
I’m preety sure that guy on the bass is seye adelakan who is now the live bass player for gorillaz and the guitar player is Jeff wooton who has been the guitar player for gorillaz since 2010. Also the guy on the piano is mike smith who has been a keyboard player for gorillaz since 2001 and still is to this day.
Mike Smith also used to play sax for Blur wayyy back even pre-Gorillaz, I remember I used to get confused when they were on TV because he looks a bit like Graham Coxon from Blur.
Yeah it's one of the saddest Gorillaz song, Clint Eastwood is also sad if your think about it, or at least it critizes society really heavily, but it has this happy song vibe
I think it's just reverb (a bit of delay), and he's sliding the notes in a specific way (I think he slides up slowly, then down, it has a certain timing)
@@crash-music. youre right there, from plastic beach onwards gorillaz doesnt have any similarity but i do think early gorillaz has the same kind of angst radiohead also seems to have had
ohtebowah I was being sarcastic. It's obvious a well produces album is gonna sound better than a rehearsal. (And the grounchy guitars do sound good to me. So fucking good, actually).
@@DeeckyRizzo i agree with that bit about the grungy guitar. overall i actually like this version better than the original, damon's vocals aint as good as the studio version but overall i really like it
Guitar ruins it. The tracks supposed to be really chill. Tomorrow comes today is the purest capsule of early 2000s sound and genuinely can’t be recaptured.
@@velocity1852 Tbh they simply added a guitar, if they wanted to make Tommorow Comes Today like when it first came out all they would have to do is to not play the guitar part, it's a deliberate choice to make the track different from the studio version

THE GUITAR MAKES THIS SO MUCH BETTER OMG
magnificent musical arrangement of this version of Today ... great musicians and singer😜
this is so juicy and nuanced in the instrumental variations, well-recorded and well-shot. thank you for uploading
That base player though has the the serious head bob game
Yeah he's a very good *base* player

anyone know what effect were used to create the whale sounds?

looks like Liem microphone style
someone knows how to do the thing the guitar player does on his guitar?
Volume pedal swells with a guitar slide and distortion and delay pedal.
