My friend jokingly said toasts pronouns were toast, toastself, toast’s, and now I try my best to use them to annoy toast. toasts really excepting tho don’t worry
I got my hair cut at 12 and everyone in public thought I was a boy (I wore only boys' clothing and had a really masculine haircut). I actually really enjoyed it and wanted people to address me as he/him... Now I'm 17 and an openly trans male.
Hmm I want people to be comfortable being themselves, but society is hypocritical by encouraging self love and then applying standards whenever possible.
I'm non binary and I have short hair I still have boobs but I wear clothes that don't make them very scene and a lot of people tell me I should change and I just wear what I want to wear like with with my pants and stuff I wear jeans or wherever.
WAIT. So I CAN get rid of my boobs AND not identify as a boy or identifying myself as trans? I'm so SHOOK. Like, this changes a lot. I always thought that I would look better/ be more comfortable without boobs, but I didn't identify as Trans so I deleted this thought. THANK YOU so much for your videos. Seriously. I have struggled a LONG time with finding who I am or what I identify with, I'm still struggling. But knowing that I CAN have a top surgery without Testosterone or identifying with Trans is a BIG step in the right direction. As I realized that, I cried because I was so relieved... So ye, thanks ❤️
@chest of creativity, It is becoming more common for surgeons and the medical community to understand that its a spectrum and some folks have specific ways they want to change their bodies rather than the pink or blue combo boxes. You can totally have chest surgery without other stuff if ghats what feels right to you 😊 which it sounds like it might from your post. I know a few folks who have done that and been super super happy woh their bodies
I'm so glad that Ash's video was able to help you so much! It's amazing how much finding someone else who says it's OK can help you feel free to finally be yourself! I've experienced similar feelings around my asexuality and my autism diagnosis. I hope you get your top surgery and love the results!
I literally felt the dysphoria when you said "I'm a boy." Lol even as a trans boy. I also asked "Is this a girl?" in my head just for giggles, and I was like...eh, definitely no.
Sorry for not talking about the video but please tell me where can i find the abc's of lgbt in london? It does not ship to my country and I really want to get it while in England.

My biology teacher gets mad whenever girls don’t sit “ladylike” and will literally call them out in the middle of class and tell them to “sit like a lady” it’s sorta annoying
The fact that females complain about double standards and inequality more than anybody while benefiting from double standards and inequality more than anybody, the fact that females lie about males having more advantages than them when they have more advantages than males, and the many examples of females wanting their cake and eating it also including this nonbinary ideology is sorta annoying.
what???!!! You wear what you want to wear? Look how you like to look? Not be the actual gender assigned to said look? IMPOSSIBLE Love this channel wowie
@@unicornbarfingrainbows7599 Agree, cuz "Lesbians" are girls who like girls, and if u are genderfluid...ehem, well, that does not fit there tho, it isn't logic...I'm just giving my opinion (based in logic) I don't mean to hurt or send hate to anyone.
my answer to the title question... before watching video: "cause Ash is cool" after watching video: "cause Ash is cool!" after reading comments: "ah, it's cause Ash is Sexy"
"My viewers art of me as a boy" LOL, just that live alone was worth watching this video for. PS: There were some REALLY deep thoughts in this video. Deep.
Well, I mean... your eyes would look great with mascara Heck, my eyes would look great with mascara! Lesson: Everyone would look great with mascara (so we need to start a world-wide trend of mascara.... because mascara isn't already a wide-spread thing... I may not have rhought this through).
I agree. It's very weird thinking of Ash as a boy, does not feel right even though they'd make an effing adorable boy. But it also feels wrong to say they're a girl. It just doesn't sit right.
i was told it's more "if men were red and women are blue, non binary people are green" you'll get some kind of puke olivegreen brown mising those two colors, but you will still get greenish
that is the essence of their thought of non binary. it is out of the manlyness or womanly ness. giving a third out of the box identidy. and why we have genders like stargender.
I´m so sorry, just really confused. I know that your sex is just physical but I have a hard time understanding what gender is/means. Sometimes it sounds like people are just talking about personality but other times they say it´s nothing like that. I´m cool with everyone being who ever they want but I also want to understand all the people around me.
it's how you feel and see yourself. nothing biochemical or neurological. that is why i think otherkin and therianropy should be considerd part of gender. what is the differnce in me saying my gender is demongender from tumblr, or being coping-demon otherkin? I don't feel that much
I don't think it's a feeling. I recommend a video on TH-cam about strong female characters in fiction. I'll look up the name. Edit: Here it is; th-cam.com/video/Jumw30_j9cs/w-d-xo.html
Thank you, this was a very interesting video and I agree with many of the points her. However, this video addresses masculinity and femininity, traits that are often paired with male and female, not what it really means to be male or female, unless it´s stating that having masculine traits makes you a male in witch case I disagree. Women can have masculine traits and still be female and vise versa. But in what case would a biological male choose to refer to himself as female. Is it because of him having more feminine traits? Or is it something else?
I think gender identity consists of the traits that are the strongest or that you value the most in yourself and whether you see those traits as feminine, masculine or neutral. It's ultimately subjective, but it has biological roots as well. Researchers have observed baby monkeys and which toys they choose to play with, for example - female monkeys tended to play with dolls and pretend to take care of them, and males played with cars and other things with interesting moving parts. Some traits, such as those connected to sexuality, develop with age - I began to dream about a boyfriend at 15, and about having a baby at 20, for example. The main thing to realize about biology affecting gender identity is that of the brain. A masculine brain in a feminine body identifies as a man. Identity and psychology are physical, but are not based on general physiology (body parts) but specifically the brain and how it has developed and trained /programmed itself (psychology) - for which there are countless ways, because the human brain is basically the most complex program in existence, as far as we know. A small baby does not have gender identity, but has the potential to develop it. The most of human development happens after birth, but the baby's brain has a set of pre-programmed code, that will write some more code, and so on. The code expands, and forms a human identity and capabilities. Femininity/masculinity and sexuality are traits that will basically develop into something fixed and can't be interfered. But the individual's perception of those traits can vary a little bit based on some things like what vocabulary they have access to and the coulture they grow up in. For example, in America there are many different words for describing gender and sexuality, while in East Asia, there are fewer - queer and gay being the most known ones. In Finland, there is "other gender" which is an umbrella term for all gender identities that aren't man or woman, and words "female" and "male" are only used for animals.
Since I cannot reply to your question of '...WHAT ARE YOU?' for some apparantly reason my answer is.... a mess. I am a mess, but a lovable mess. A nonbinary lovable mess
I'll be honest, I can't understand people who Identify as non binary, perhaps because i'm a cis gender gay guy, but just because i don't understand how Ash feels doesn't mean I won't respect Ash, or any non binary person , i won't understand it fully or get it, but i don't get straight people, and their're great!
You're doing it exactly right! You don't have to understand something to respect it! Like I don't understand why anyone would be a woman if they had the choice, but I will fight for all women to enjoy their womanhood.
This is actually so cool. I wasn't aware of it as a concept until recently. Comedian Tig Notaro had chest surgery due to breast cancer and then took her shirt off on stage during her next tour and she has no boobs and no nipples and IT LOOKS FINE. We don't need nipples! It's all good!
Thank you so much I was confused about myself because I don't identify with either but now I see that I am non-binary thank you ash you are a gift to society
hey ash!! could you please do a video on the difference between non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, gender nonconforming, and agender? i've been struggling with trying to figure this out and i'd love to become more educated!
I'm cis, and I find the "I identify as [some noun that is clearly not a gender]" joke to be really annoying. It's clearly said by people who don't have the first clue about what they're mocking. It's like YEC's who say evolution violates entropy or flat-Earthers who say planes should be turning down to get around the globe, only for the liberal arts.
It's because these genders either have no basis in science or are just simply personality traits. I personally don't care how people identify as long as they don't expect me to act differently. As for the jokes, i find them quite funny as it points out some of the absurdity of this modern gender stuff.
Timothy McLean this is not a new gender, this is inner misogyny and reaction to the toxic society. Women’s bodies are wonderful but society teaches us that they we should be ashamed of them (did ash day that society made her feel uncomfortable with her breast?) and more and more women are keeping cutting parts of their bodies... I’m done with this world. Cis-women will be rare here soon. They will be #1 enemies for just being cis.
Keine Ewigkeit dude... Shut up lol. Cis woman still exist and they aint going away. You probably think afab non binary people and trans men are just really woman with internalized misogyny cause its not lol. That's some terf nonesense
Hey Ash. I was looking through the comments, and people’s close minded and narrow way of thinking really disturbed me. I wanted you to know I don’t think you give the trans community or anyone a bad name. You’re so cheerful and supportive, and the people who spread hate are the ones giving every community a bad name. And, in regards to comments saying you think about gender too much, what’s wrong with wanting to know who you are? And who said we had to come out as one thing and stick with it? Life is about discovering who we are as we go along, and it takes a lifetime to understand who we really are. Some people might not care, some people might, both are wonderful. You’re such an amazing charismatic person and I hope I get to meet someone as cool as you one day. 😘❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Grow out the pit hair Ash! I haven't shaved my pits in over 10 years AND IT FEELS SO GOOD! I trim it like, once every 3-4 months but I can't imagine not having pit hair now. It's just so freeing!
Ash Hardell omg it feels so freeing, doesn't it? I'm lucky enough to live in a town where women with body hair is completely normal, so I know it's a bit different from your situation. But I hope nobody bothers you for it. If you ever need emotional support or good come-backs for the inevitable asshole who tries to shame you, let me know. 😘 PS - love you and am sad I didn't get to see you at Vidcon this year 😫
I’ve never shaved my armpits. Occasionally i think about what people might think for a second while i’m putting on a sleeveless shirt, but it never stops me from wearing one and i’ve never gotten any negative responses as far as i know
As a gay man, I consider myself to be accepting, and understanding, of all different lifestyles. The one puzzling aspect to non binary gender, is this idea that gender is assigned by doctors. Aren’t they observing rather than assigning? If they’re physically observing the individual to the best of their ability, based on their understanding of human devolpment, in what respect is that an assignment? I certainly don’t want to come across like I’m discrediting, or objecting to any aspects of the lives of non binary people, this is just one part of the world of non traditional gender that I’ve always been confused about
Bryant L I think you may have misunderstood the point I was making. It isn't that doctors are wrong or that people don't have a certain sex at birth, it's that many people assume that gender and sex are always the same. And with that, some people stay in the mindset that someone's assigned sex gives them the right to invalidate genders.
My thoughts in the order I had them while watching: - You don't owe anyone a chest reveal if you don't want to. If it's empowering, great! But I would hate for you to feel pressured into it. - I really appreciate your ability to be informative and hilarious at the same time. - It makes me sad that you have to deal with so much unsolicited feedback from strangers in your day to day life. - There are so many talented viewers!! I really enjoyed this compilation of pictures and your reactions to them.
I usually refer to you with they/them pronouns because in my opinion you kill the androgynous look so to me you look like a "they" but because of these pictures I just kept using he/him pronouns with you in my mind lol.
All you people saying that expression is independent from gender, and then GENDER ASH. All these problems are a combination of the complications due to language. Sure smashing the previous stereotypes of gender are absolutely fun but people are getting SO lost in the sentiment that PEOPLE CAN DRESS HOWEVER THEY WANT and they're still defining people into a gender binary. if you're female you can wear whatever you want but you're STILL FEMALE is really restricting even though you mean to cast off preceded restrictions. And when Ash refers to "masculine" and "feminine" they have to because that's just a term that is widely used and widely understood. Sure cargo shorts and ties don't HAVE to be masculine but it just happens to be a term that tends to encompass it. Language is simultaneously freeing because we use it to convey to others how we eperience reality but it is also very limiting in terms of what is defined, how it was and is and will be defined, and things simply too complex to be boiled down to one word or even a phrase. If you really want to free appearance from gender, please let Ash define themselves, however they want. -thanks (used "they" pronouns in an effort to be respectful)
Generally you're female if your reproductive system is built to produce eggs (no matter whether it works, see biology) and you don't have Y-chromosome... Pretty much all-encompassing (unlike feelings, hormones, brain structure etc. "Most girls are long haired, meek and like such abd such stuff" and "men have affinity for wearing their hair short, and are masculine, assertive, hairy, bearded etc" doesn't tell me anything about "you" or any particular individual. It's just statistics - or worse, popular opinions - in population, that mean little to nothing on a personal level. Like, fine, use "man/woman" for whatever you like guys, but leave biological terms alone. PS: when actul adults only call themselves (non)boy/girl in a non-ironic way it's sounds weird.
@@LilLulu52 Actually you can change sex. It's not even that new as far as options available to humans medically. Sex isn't the same as gender and, to most people, neither of those things are flexible but, to some, they are. That's a well-documented fact. Also people who are trans or gender fluid generally dislike being mis-gendered or being told "well you're a woman and liking guy stuff doesn't change that." It's complicated but humans are complicated and that's fine. It's fine. Maybe a little too attached to narrow and restrictive labels but fine.
I’m genderfluid and Pan! Today was the first day I got masculine clothes. My mom didn’t realize why button ups meant so much to me. Since to her I’m her cis tomboyish baby girl who is bisexual, she told me pansexual isn’t real. But hey, you can’t win them all. I’m trying my best to be myself :D
even some bisexuals say it dosen't exist, and some pansexuals say bisexual dosen't exist. a person can't be bisexual and only be attracted to cismen and transmen. they still are attacted to men. and it hints that there is a bias in bisexual. with 70+ genders, and just the "i'm not attracted to amab demiboys, but i am to genderfluid amabs" it's mean.
THAT'S CHASE'S SHIRT. WE STAN A QUEER PROTESTING YOU TUBE ARTIST. K but seriously I've been thinking that only trans guys are "allowed" to get top surgery, and seeing your transformation, and how you're NOT a boy, just gives me hope that maybe one day I (an agender person) might be comfortable enough to consider it myself! I love your book and how pleasantly you teach and all of your wonderful quirky friendliness. You're one of my favorite people on the internet
I really appreciate you mentioning that some people don't get nipple grafts! I'm not going to keep my nipples when I get top surgery, and I'm planning to make a video about it at some point since I haven't seen many people on TH-cam talking about that #nonip life
I'm kind of confused why things like hair length and the absence/presence of breasts are used as comparisons. Hair length is something that is completely socially/culturally constructed, there is no difference in hair length based on biological sex in nature. But the absence/presence of breasts and what it means in the context of gender/sex is something that is always going to be a reality. I get that it would be annoying to have people assume you want to be/identify as the opposite gender based on that since you don't feel that way, but it seems much more reasonable to me that people would be confused about that rather than hair length since we developed that standard completely on our own. I get your point of view but idk as a trans person myself I can't really expect people to not evaluate biological sex characteristics when trying to assess someones gender/sex. But if they assume wrong and you correct them they should try to be respectful.
This is one of my favorite videos of you... So informative, so positive, explorative and open minded. I envy you in your maturity, in knowing who you are and being unthreatened by other people's words or ideas.
I got the courage to come out as genderfluid to my mom the other day, so I want to thank you because watching your videos has helped me build up my courage and your videos also make me more confident about who i am. Thank you!
"I've been thinking, about experimenting, with armpit hair," I stopped shaving because it gave me really bad rashes, and I'm still a little self conscious of it...
No one in my family was keen on me cutting my hair because its a 'boys haircut'. And then no one gets it when I say that I can't ever get a 'boys haircut' because there is literally no such thing
Charlotte Cole mood. Like I’m a girl (not non binary or anything) but everyone makes me feel so insecure about cutting it. I’m allowed to cut it but I’m too insecure now lmao
I relate to this video one so many levels. I'm AMAB, Agender, and feminine expressing but looking at me, i come off as a gay stereotype (especially now in a world with James Charles and others like him). For me, Boy always never worked for me, i hated calling myself a boy, but girl didn't work either, i couldn't internalize it like you cant with boy. However when i explain to people that I'm neither a boy nor a girl, i get these responses "oh but its ok to wear makeup and heels as a boy" or "yah but your more than likely going to transition MtF later in life" or from my queerphobic peers "ew stop it with that gay shit". I just think people have a hard time grasping the concept of being something beyond boy and girl even after being explained what it means to be non-binary. I think it was because they themselves never had an issue with it so never questioned it

About to rant on girls having body hair. For people with disabilities it can be hard. I am fairly ambivalent on the whole shaving thing because for me most of the time shaving my legs is not a possibility. I have fairly fragile, very sensitive skin, I don’t have good eyesight without my glasses and I have difficulty with orthostatic tachycardia so I’m not able to bend in the shower safely because I could faint. This means that in dorms or other places without a shower bench or tub I’m not able to shave my legs
Emma’s Animals woooo zebras!!! I’m not diagnosed, but have many symptoms which have gotten worse recently so I’m looking at trying to get tested it’s hard cause I’m living abroad currently. I’ve been having multiple subluxations a day and lots of pain and dizziness and tachycardia and yay
I have extremely sensitive skin... So the choice is: be hairless and have terrible red, rashy, scaly, strawberry legs, or have hair but clearer, healthier-looking legs. I choose hairy, honestly.
always entertained. always amused. always learn something. How great is that? You, are an amazing human being, period. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I'm currently confused. I found the term agender a few years ago and was like "yo that's me" because I don't really relate to any gender or have an attachment to pronouns, but I'm starting to wonder if that's because I'm on the aspergers spectrum and have a hard time relating to social norms in general or most people. Lately I've noticed that I get jealous when looking at pictures of boys with a similar frame to me, especially if they're topless, because some part of me wants the broad shoulders, small hips, and flat chest and stomach. I also don't mind pronouns, but noticed I feel off if I'm called a feminine form of a word like princess, whereas prince feels more correct. Idk I just wish I could look super androgynous but I have very feminine features and move with that feminine sort of grace and swagger. I've also noticed I 100% have hair dysphoria which is why I always put off getting it cut cause if I don't think about it I don't feel like shit that it doesn't look masculine, and I've always wished I could grow facial hair. Funny enough, I don't mine my body when I wear feminine clothing. I feel almost like I'm in drag and I know that it makes me look conventionally attractive, so I get that confident swagger that someone wearing a really flattering costume might, because they don't feel like themselves so they can "pretend" to be someone more confident and attractive. That said, when I wear masculine clothing (which I love) I do absolutely get dysphoric because it doesn't fit right even if I'm wearing a binder and have zero boobs, because my shoulders and hips aren't the right proportion for the clothing to fit right. Idk man I'm confused. I probably would've been mostly happy living my life as a tomboy who occasionally dresses up, but not I'm thinking more about my gender and expression I'm realizing there's faint but deep rooted discomfort and it's kinda scary. I just wish I could've been born suuuper androgynous, preferably a feminine looking boy, so I could pass as either or neither binary gender, rather than looking like a girl who often dresses like a boy and constantly being told it's a shame I don't flatter my figure or dress/act feminine because I'm "such a pretty girl" (Side note: my profile picture is like 5 years old from before I ever questioned my identity and was still like 15 but I'm too lazy to change it)
I understand you 100%. I have a male friend who like to dress like a typical girl, sounds like a girl, walks like a girl... basically, anyone who interacts with him will assume he is a girl (and a very attractive one even without any makeup). But he doesn't feel like a girl ... or a boy ... or a lamp. He feels that he likes his genitals, he likes his appearance as a girl, but also inside feels genderless. That was at first difficult to understand, but when you see that all time it passed and all troubles he had because he is not binary he still feels this way, you have to congratulate him. He doesn't mind if you use he for him, or she, or it ... he just doesn't feel like any of that, but he understands that you need to call him something :) Also, he is very giving, very selfless person and true humanitarian. I don't know was it pure luck or what, but he was given genderless name at birth. One of few names in Serbian that can be both male and female.
My favorite is response to my gender fluidity is "but you have a GIRL'S NAAAAME!" I also hear "but you wear lipstick and lace" and "but don't non-binary people use gender neutral pronouns?"
Aisa Asia I don't mind. I do, in varying degrees. How I fix my hair and how I dress is usually affected by my Gender of the Day. My lipstick is more neutral on masc days, and there's typically less lace? But not necessarily NO lace. My name is great, though! Sure, people think of it as a girl's name, but I don't. It's a word name, and when I hear it, I think of what it means to me, not the gender people associate with it.
Ash came out as transgender nonbinary/genderqueer. Transgender means that you aren't the gender you were assigned at birth. Ash was AFAB, but doesn't identify as a girl or boy. They are transgender because they aren't a girl. I hope this helped :>
Phoenix Frost Ahh, I get it now. I’m new to all of this terminology and am trying to be a good ally ☺️Ash is clarifying for people who probably just asked them the same thing I did. Thank you!
Phoenix Frost so you can be nonbinary and genderqueer? Or are they the same thing Sorry i’m really new to all thing and questioning my identity and this sounds like me if it’s what i think.
i really appreciate you because in my time trying to learn about non-binary people and understanding them better both as individuals and in the reality that is human diversity that they represent, when it comes to you particularly, it never crossed my mind to guess your gender or try to pick out which of the limited binary you leaned more towards, to me you've just always seemed so comfortable and confident and unencumbered with fitting with any sort of streotipycal(?) box, i can easily think of you as just you, unique person with a whole lot of qualities to list but that add to your freedom of self, rather than being the clues of some insufficient classification process. I don't know if i'm even making sense, wording it so much but, point of the matter is, you make me see the world in a different, better light, and you inspire me to be a better person in so many aspects; whenever i'm afraid and feel like closing up because i'm having a hard time understanding someone else i can always take a deep breath, think of you, and say to myself to give everyone a clean slate, to see them as that individual world that each person is, no need to split them up in bits and see which basket s the fullest, they are them and with that starting point all the classifications they want to be included in are fun bright squares in their unique rubik's cube of an identity... so thank you. lots of love. and wishes of good weather too.

There are people who get a boob job either to increase or decrease their size.

In a very metaphorical, not at all gender enforcing way, if girl is mustard yellow and boy is a violet blue, I think of u as lime green.
I agree. It's very weird thinking of Ash as a boy, does not feel right even though they'd make an effing adorable boy. But it also feels wrong to say they're a girl. It just doesn't sit right.
i was told it's more "if men were red and women are blue, non binary people are green" you'll get some kind of puke olivegreen brown mising those two colors, but you will still get greenish
kaiyodei Wait. Blue and red mixed makes purple
that is the essence of their thought of non binary. it is out of the manlyness or womanly ness. giving a third out of the box identidy. and why we have genders like stargender.

"That's what people do. They have nipples!" 😂
I don't feel that much
What kind of feeling is it? And why would you find a need to identify yourself as something different?
I don't think it's a feeling. I recommend a video on TH-cam about strong female characters in fiction. I'll look up the name.
Edit: Here it is;
th-cam.com/video/Jumw30_j9cs/w-d-xo.html

Timothy McLean What makes you say they don't have a clue? You can be clued up and still realise it's a load of rubbish.
Well maybe you just need to respect all the self-described potatoes. 😂😂
...I'll go sit in my corner now.
Some people might not care, some people might, both are wonderful. scary muffin then don't look at it. 🤷♀️
I certainly don’t want to come across like I’m discrediting, or objecting to any aspects of the lives of non binary people, this is just one part of the world of non traditional gender that I’ve always been confused about
liam vogel gender isn't always defined as your genitalia. Some anthropologists even define gender as the roles someone takes on in a society
liam vogel I think what people mean by "assignment" is that is what people are given and many people expect them to stay as that thing
Ghost Florian but female is sex not gender. If one is afab, it was an observation based on female vs male genitalia.
Bryant L The word assignment is used because not everyone stays cisgender, but are expected to. Sorry if I came off ramble-y, it's kind of a habit
Ash you’re adorable “accept my bandage keeps falling down”

My thoughts in the order I had them while watching:
- You don't owe anyone a chest reveal if you don't want to.

Ash Hardell IT IS DONE

I just wish I could've been born suuuper androgynous, preferably a feminine looking boy, so I could pass as either or neither binary gender, rather than looking like a girl who often dresses like a boy and constantly being told it's a shame I don't flatter my figure or dress/act feminine because I'm "such a pretty girl"
(Side note: my profile picture is like 5 years old from before I ever questioned my identity and was still like 15 but I'm too lazy to change it)
I understand you 100%.
My favorite is response to my gender fluidity is "but you have a GIRL'S NAAAAME!"
I also hear "but you wear lipstick and lace" and "but don't non-binary people use gender neutral pronouns?"
Faith cool name :3
Just a q question, sorry if I'm disrespectful...but do you experience gender dysphoria and if so, does it turn on and off?
FaithPixel you too!
It's a word name, and when I hear it, I think of what it means to me, not the gender people associate with it.
or get pixy cuts, dye their hair teal and dress "scene"
Wait, I’m genuinely confused. Didn’t you just barely come out as trans a few months ago?
Ash came out as transgender nonbinary/genderqueer. Transgender means that you aren't the gender you were assigned at birth. Ash was AFAB, but doesn't identify as a girl or boy. They are transgender because they aren't a girl. I hope this helped :>
Phoenix Frost Ahh, I get it now. I’m new to all of this terminology and am trying to be a good ally ☺️Ash is clarifying for people who probably just asked them the same thing I did. Thank you!
You're welcome. Happy to help cx
EXmariiOH transgender and nonbinary go hand in hand
Phoenix Frost so you can be nonbinary and genderqueer? Or are they the same thing
Sorry i’m really new to all thing and questioning my identity and this sounds like me if it’s what i think.
i really appreciate you because in my time trying to learn about non-binary people and understanding them better both as individuals and in the reality that is human diversity that they represent, when it comes to you particularly, it never crossed my mind to guess your gender or try to pick out which of the limited binary you leaned more towards, to me you've just always seemed so comfortable and confident and unencumbered with fitting with any sort of streotipycal(?) box, i can easily think of you as just you, unique person with a whole lot of qualities to list but that add to your freedom of self, rather than being the clues of some insufficient classification process.
I agree with her so so so much I’m also a tomboy and so many people call me a boy because I wear boy clothes It’s just what I like to wear 😊
Ash isn't a tomboy though, they're genderqueer!
@@genderpunktheo HAHAHAHAHA shes a tomboy.
@@shinx6668 They said they're not a tomboy? What's so funny about their gender identity
