Lisa, I'd love it if you could a video on white colored pencils and their opacity. Could you please include the watercolor and inktense pencils in that video?
I've tried quite a few, and I can't imagine anything will ever beat the Faber Castell Polychromos White pencil for drawing on black or toned paper. Sure charcole is okay but that pencil is just a dream.
When i want to get rid of eraser dust, i use a hand dustblower which is normally used for getting rid of dust from a cameralens and sensor. I don't know the exact word for the product but it works great. :)
So, the manufacturers have found a reason to make typewriter erasers again. I remember that these were also made in a thin disk shape with the brush, too. It looks like they work better for artists than they ever did for typists.
I laughed out loud at the end, husband asked me what I was watching so I showed him. Then I said don't say anything next time I buy more art supplies or I might erase you too lol. I got glared at!
That just gave me fond memories of high school typing class in the early 80s. And that is the ONLY fond memory, believe me! I loved the old typing erasers, this kind and the wheelie one with the brush. Never even occurred to me to use them in art! 🤣😂🤣😂☺
I’ve used this eraser for about four years now and in all honesty, it’s my favorite. Although, I have also been enjoying my electric eraser for certain things as well…but I truly do love the Faber Castell pencil eraser. Reminds me of the old time typewriter erasers and I could be wrong, but there is a good possibility that is what these were originally,

Agree. This is by far the best eraser for colored pencil. Was amazed when I discovered it and have used it since for five years. It is most effective at removing color. A word of caution, echoing the artist here: be sure to use VERY LIGHTLY with repeated strokes. Too heavy a hand will damage the paper as it would with an ink eraser.

I know I am not Lisa, but I just use my hand held KUM or M&R….I truly believe that also helps keep the blade clean and sharper longer..I know I didn’t have to replace the KUM blade or the blade on the M&R for months after most people..although I also sharpen a regular graphite #2 pencils periodically with them as well

Thanks for this video, Lisa. Also, what brand of tape do you use on watercolor paper (140lb). Concerned about it tearing my work when I remove it. How long can it be on the paper before it truly damages it...(my commission will take at least a week of work)? Thank you!
Do they make a new version? I bought a blister set many years ago. When I try erasing it 'eats' up my paper surface. I don't know if it was the paper quality or the eraser itself. So I stopped using it.
@@sitinorhassan5253 I don’t know if it is new because they do come in a blister pack, as you say, but compared with the FC Perfection, it is much softer so I’ve not damaged the tooth of the paper…yet. Lol
@@amandaparker5086 I've checked Blick site and Derwent site. Looks like it was a new one. The ones I bought were coated in grey. The new ones were coated in black. Maybe they changed the formula too. Thanks for the answer.
It was him :D I actually have 4, two skunk cleaner shrimp in the main tank and two now in the coral quarantine. I can't keep fish in the coral quarantine in order for the quarantine part to work, so I have two little shrimp buddies in there now

Here’s a tip: derwent lightfast white is much more opaque than polychromos and both are oil based.

I hadn't thought of that Marilyn. Mine is called a hurricane blower and I also, of course, use it to clean my camera's sensor. Good suggestion.

What about using tape, scotch or masking tape?
Scotch tape is a great method too for some effects :)

I have heard other artist’s say they use a blow dryer on any kind of tape to loosen up the stickiness prior to removing so the paper doesn’t rip! 😃
