Great video. Once you are using the project and when timelines need to be adjusted, is there an easy way to modify a date and have the remaining due dates reshuffled?
Yes. From the timeline view, you can select portions of the timeline to bulk-move your tasks. Or if you have tasks connected as dependencies, moving one task will move the dependent tasks connected to it.
This was extremely helpful as we are trying to standardize some of our processes for chair massage events. Up until now, we've really only been using Asana for recurring task reminders but this has opened my eyes to some of the many other ways we can utilize the software. Cheers!
very much appreciate this and other videos you've done. You make following along very easy and I particularly appreciate the inclusion of things to be aware of, eg: Template changes take place going forward.
Maybe I missed it but are templates still only available for that specific project or can you have two different projects and use the same template for both? I would love to make a template for all the things I need to do for a particular client trip but need it for each client and I like to make each separate client trip its own project.
You could either choose to have multiple templates and use the appropriate one. Or create one master template with all the tasks you may need and just delete the bits you don't need. Hopefully that answers your question.
Whenever a document is attached in the Project Overview and I create a template from that project. The documents in "key resources" are not transferred to the template. Why is this the case?
@minor-co is it automatic or would I have to manually add them? We manually create portfolios for different teams that include a group of templates. (Each team has their own portfolio using the same templates) Instead of manually creating these, does Asana have some type of macro that would create these automatically?
You wouldn't be able to do this natively in Asana but it is possible using a third-party automation tool like Zapier. We could help set this up if you need help.
How can i copy a template ? If i have similar templates but i want to streamline the process of making the template by copying them and changing the minor things i want to change
I am not near my computer but I’m pretty sure there’s an option because I’ve done it. I’ve created multiple copies of the same template because I wanted one to be a certain version and then another one with a few more steps. There’s gotta be a button you can click to see more options and to be able to get there. Sorry I can’t tell you specifics but I know it’s possible. Hope you can find it.
The simplest thing to do would be to use your existing template to create a project, make the necessary changes then save that project as a new template.
Anyone watching this and still don’t want to pay for asana but really want this feature you can export and import projects via spreadsheets (csv file). Create project template > export > csv > find and replace in csv if applicable > create new project > import spreadsheet.

Your channel is the best!
Thank you 🙏

Happy to help!
Another amazing video Paul!
I actually have a prospect who wanted to improve their asana process a week ago; Can I refer them your way for consulting?
Thanks!
Of course, they can book an intro call with us here: paulminors.com/consulting/asana-consulting/

Thanks, I'm glad this was useful!

Is it possible to share an asana templates outside of your organisation??
I'm afraid not. Templates can only be used within your account.

Sounds like this is a limitation of the templates feature I'm afraid.
Does Asana have the ability to automatically add templates to a portfolio?
Yes, in the template settings you should see an option to add newly created projects to a portfolio.
@minor-co is it automatic or would I have to manually add them?

Hello. Why can not I see set schedule type for all tasks in my Due date in my Asana?
Are you referring to on your My Tasks page? If so, make sure you've assigned them to yourself.

If there was a metric for being both handsome and nerdy you would be off the charts
Haha thanks, I'll take it!

Nice workaround
